Few!!!! Well I'd say mine is going to be around the 36K to 40K when finished. I've already spent in excess of 30K including purchase (see mods in my ride section) but I might not have Lukes wide arch. I think I'll wait even if I have to wait till next winter and have the Explosion wide arch as its brings the Z right up to date, Making it look like a present prodution model. This is alittle like the Explosin kit.
  5. Have you tryed Demon Tweeks?
  6. Hey Dave it sounds to me like you got that Bling Thing. It'll soon be daves_new_ZX Re(d)bel Alliance sponcered by Egg
  7. Na more like Yin Yin cat-tat-put yin YEEEEEEEEEEEEing YEEEEEEEEEEEing :D
  8. Thats Boredom for ya
  9. Good luck to them.
  10. Many many moons ago I used to have Paggett RD400LC. It had been a proper Paggett prepared prodution racing bike and when the 400cc category was scatched in favor of 350cc the my old 400cc was up against 500 Gamas and TZ's. So I converted it for the road as a Kenny Roberts (senior) replica (except it was a 400 twin rather than a 500 square 4), but it had spondon monoshock frame 5 gallon tank fully fared with 2 real and 2 dumy Stan Stevens expany's coming out of the seat faring. (would wee all over a Z900 up to about 130mph) I used to get stopped nearly every day. Jam butty's trying to do me and generally giving me a hard time and bike cops wanting to know what it was, have a go and generally talk bike and fast car. I just think that what ever it is in a persons psyche that make em enjoy bikes keeps them grounded and real and generally not a nob as many of our officers seam to be.
  11. Peronnally I think that HICAS makes the steering feel soggy and a bit vague. The back end effectively drifts out slightly which as many have already said if the bushes and every thing are even slightly worn it becomes a serious hand full if you drive the care hard. Nissan themselves obviously felt it to be detrementale to handling as it did not feature on the LeMans, the Endurance or the sportscar championship cars (the later two being 300ZX based cars such as Steven Hillens, whos company Stillen is well known). Also all the racing versions of the Skyline don't have HICAS and any Skylines feature in major speed events such as the Japanese GT trophy or even UKs own Ten of the Best do not use HICAS or any rear wheel steering. I took my Palmer Audi licence 4 years ago and have driven a few single seat race cars, Exegue's, Noble + racing Karts which my son competed in up to 2 years ago. None have any rear steer device, yet they can all corner much much quicker than a Z. Infact if you are not fastend into a race car properly and drive it as hard as it is intended to go you would break your ribs as you are compressed by the lateral G forces. If you were putting good time in on a single seater by the time you are finish you are bruise as though someone has give you a serious kicking. Thats why proper racing driver really have my respect. I know that my Z set up with HICAS could not emilate those kind of forces, but without it can get much closer to it.
  12. Think these really are for running with bigger injectors.+ Like the man said you would need your ECU tuning to avoid burning holes in your pistons. Just one more downer, that kit would need a duel MAF as well.
  13. Easiest way is to just remove the HICAS unit in the engine bay. Blank off the feed from the power steering pot and the HICAS return to the power steeing pump. I''ve got a SE HICAS Eliminator bar if you want to buy one. Never been used.

Thats 36K in one splash  Sorry as much as I like my Z and have splashed out as much as 12K in one go. If I had 36K in my mitt then I'm affraid the Z would have a nice Noble M12 MKIII to sleep with. In Blue of course.

Ah Dear St. Blingless  What are you going to due with your lamber setup then when you change to the V8 lump, can it all be modified. If you want to sell all your wiz bang wollop bits to run through the profec (Mistical Tunning Language) + prepared to show me how to set it up properly. Then I'll be up for that. Oh great one   Oh and thanks for letting me nick those bits I'll have the others back on it by weekend
  16. Yep that really blew me away Hey gruntpa64 fancy a job round my place. If my desk looked like that 10 minutes later one of the kids or wife would have it covered in crap. Its my misuses mission to cover every available work surface with crap. What lamps are you going to fit. After market HID lamps and Lenses?
  17. Well done sir Hey I've got a good Idea for a national event if you want to know.
  18. The Z has big smile factor without a doubt. I've never owned a Supra but I've driven both a MKIII and a MKIV. The difference between a MKIII and The 300 is like the difference between a Yugo and a WR8 (lightyears better than the Supra). The MKIV and the 300 are quite similar though I think the Z power delivery is a little more muscular in standard trim even if the MkIV is supposed to have 20 more horses, but the main factor for me between the two is style. The Z has style in abundance where as the Supra just looks like a cross between a lardy XK8 and a squashed frog. From a practical point of veiw of ownership, Well if you used the forum well £1000 will change your Z to a reliable 400+bhp supercar. However your maintainence bills will be cheeper with a Supra and if your looking to have a serious undrivable horse powered car the supra will be a cheeper bet in the long run. Also check their forum out, they arn't as good a bunch as you get here.
  19. PM Me Please "Where's my plenum and inlets Andy I really need em ASAP"
  20. Its the Bovs that are pre loaded too high and need ajusting. Its only a 2 minute job if you can get to them. Turn the preload nut at the end back till there is only about 4mm of thread showing. that should do the trick. You can then p1ss around with the purple ring with the different sized holes in till you get the sound you want.
  21. If its a UK car your after then you want pleny of history and receipts + make sure the old tin worm hasn't had its wicked way in the wrong places. If its an auto you want then I'd say go for a UK auto as they seem to be more reliable. If it a mauual your after I'd go for something fresh from Japan, low milage and as new as poss. Remember any made after 1999 were hand made to order, are as rare as hens teath but well worth the extra wonga if you could get your mits on one. There are loads of importers who will go and get exactly what you want. So you can get some extensively modded Jap hardware for a fraction of what you would pay hear. You'll also find that the quality of the 300ZX.co.uk club members cars are far superior to the average Z sold in auto trader. They've been pampered and had lots spent on them so it makes sense to by from the forum. When you see 10 to 20 post from other forum members saying no don't sell she's a beauty/monster etc they mean it and know the car. Hence You'll know that that is a good motor. If you don't beleive me have a look at the meets section and go along to your nearest meet and take a look at the quality there the take a look at a few from auto trader.
  22. Absolute Class   When I was at Artschool one of my mates used to record them all and we'd all sit and watch them late in the evening. In a some what state of hightend awareness and joviality lets say. Happy times and always makes me think of the Chitch and Chong and also Bonso Dog Do Da Band. :smash:
  23. I think the guy has a eerm a few issues there. Although onr or two are quite jockular the rest is :hurl:
  24. Keep the auto harness. Phill at C&S woulds will talk you through it. I didn't thinking using the manual harness would be stait forward. I still have no speedo or reverse lights yet and am going to re install the Auto harness and convert over. Luke at the Z centre will tell you about this problem as well.
  25. Here if this helps you decide as you have a similar set up, but without the pram handle. Personally I think your car looks great without
