  1. Awe Bless  :slap:
  2. We should have a North Wales & Chester section as I personally know of 10 or so Zeds within a 30 miles radius of my house. + The Ellesmere port lads can join in if they like. South Wales meets are just too far unless we went to Tenby for a weekend knees up. New engine almost built but not in yet. so if I showed up it'd be in my truck or C70 T5
  3. Wind up? Its got to be.
  4. The most expensive bit about moding mine was getting the original Veilside bumper. Then I took the hacksaw to it and bought some fiber glass, lots of P40, filler, some MkI Honda Civic indicators, Sand paper and plenty of elbow grease. 2 days later she was ready for the body shop.
  5. Some one on here? I'm sorry to hear that someone died and extend my condolences. Still no need for the reation it drew. Surely the reason for all the forum skipping and snipping is just to get that kind of reaction, because these people are pethetic no hopers looking for attention. Once upon a time the people on this forum used to make so much fun at these idiots they wouldn't come back. Too often there seems to be the desire to prove how "big and hard we are". This is why the snippers come to wind you up surely. I'm not impress by this trend and find it offensive. I'm also sure that the family of the poor individual who lost their life would also find it offensive too.
  6. I agree with you mate, but you have to be careful to state your position at the out set as a lot of these boys are very touchy about people slighting their beloved Z's. Truth is their are too many knobs out their driving Z's and it worry's all here as to how that reflects on us. However threatening violence is also quite knobish too.
  7. Merry christmas to you too all, even if a few of ya are miserable beggers. I'll be one of those :nana2: :nana2: fools.
  8. Hope you all get a wish come true. Have a good Christmas and don't make yourself ill too often. Merry Christmas
  9. The yellow bumper is one of Lukes from the Z centre. The blue one is a photo shop based on a Stroseck. I don't like lukes as it seems too wide open + side on iy looks like the fronts just been lobbed off. Thats why I made my own.

Yep just clench one end in your teeth and attach the other to the nearest steel railing or post.
  11. Have you tried Turbo Dynamics in Pool in Dorset (is that how you spell Dorset) Easier still if you take the Tubs and your old steel coil type to Manflex in Warrington Tel. 01925 653215 They will make them up there and then, provided they have the correct grade of braided hose which they almost certainly will have.
  12. I don't like the convertables. They look sh1te
  13. I've Trye about 6 different makes of tyre on my Z over ther years and a few other tyre on My T5's and the misuses TRD and have to say Bridgestone S02 is the best you can get for the Zed. You'll have to ask for Porsche only fittmen these days unless your lucky (ie anything with the name Porsche in it means it costs more). They'll revelutionise your wet weather driving. Falken Toyo's etc are OK in fact many on here swear by them, but not the people who have tried S02's.
  14. Don't go bigger than 235 tyres on the front or you'll will fook up the handling as you'll get tramlining, camber steer and slight to major (depending on quality of tyres) aquaplaning in the wet. Even the widest front tyre used on Porsche's is 225 factory fitment and 235 is max size recomendation, but that has more to do with looks than function. 265 is fine on the rear, but the wider you go the better the wet weather ability tyre is needed to ensure you squash as much water out from between it and the road and remember letting the tread get beyond the ware markers on the rear will lead to it breaking away. It's cheaper to spend £300 on 2 good quality tyres on a regular basis than roll your Z backward through a hawthorn hedge into a field.
  15. 245 tyres on the front will fook up the handling as you'll get tramlining, camber steer and slight to major (depending on quality of tyres) aquaplaning in the wet. Even the widest front tyre used on Porsche's is 225 factory fitment and 235 is max size recomendation, but that has more to do with looks than function. 5 degree negative camber will help to make it feel more planted on fast sweepers, but lead to oversteer the tighter the bend becomes + your tyres are going to ware unevenly and very quickly.
  16. They look mint mate can you pass on his number + can he supply extra material to cover the door pannels and Dash etc. Also KirbZ where did you get your wheels and do the do them with gold centres
  17. Gee up Bob I've already got a quick saloon car   I simpley think that Skylarks are over rated. These days there is that much out there that will give it a good kicking and look a lot better. Audi S6R = 440BHP strait out of the box and highly tunable. 600+ BHP at a fraction it would cost to get skylark to that power Audi S8R = 460BHP VW WR8T = 460BHP out the box and under £40K new Volvo S40T5R sport = 440BHP 4x4 unbelievable handling looks ace and under £30K new and remember those T5 Factory 850's were running 700BHP so plenty of scope there the list goes on as does time. Even though I think the new Skyline coming out in 07 looks the real deal I don't think it will ever catch up to the Germans again or the Swedes even. Lets face it if you really want a powerful motor you have to look at British engine builders. Renault F1 engine, Honda F1 enginge, Toyota F1 engine infact every engine in the F1 grid bare the BMW are all built in the UK No the Skyline is a fashion Icon just the same as Burbury or Channel and as qiuck as they can become thet don't float my boat.
  18. Staight 6 will rev to destruction if you don't limit em. They get to acertain point and what to keep reving. Personally I didn't like the R33 GTR Vspec because they handle so well with all the aids that Me and the way I drive I'd be dead in know time. Cos at the speeds you end up going into bends to keep the heart pumping :headvswal if you loose it you aint getting it back. All in all I really think the Zed is a more rewarding drive, but I'd swap it anyday for a Noble or a New Esprite.
  19. What colour you going for then?
  20. Hey up Fas what happening with your Z have you still got it? Sorry to thread high jack

This is noddy's car and I know where and why its been at. Since about May/June till October. It needs a lot more than an engine just to make it road legal. It has a great sollution to the duck pond syndrome as well. It just drains into the boot. Some of you know I've been looking for a shorty. When I saw it it had 4" of water in the boot. I was asked if I would like to Take it away and break it as the guy who garage it was dumped at was sick of storing it, but there wasn't anything worth breaking it for as everything seemed all ready broken. Good luck with it mate and try not to knock any dogs down again.
  22. Not once been pulled for my number plate by North Wales plod, but it is full size. However it's a stick on and is only 6.5 degrees from horizontal
  23. I personally think that licencing on a proffesional basis for all motor industry traders is the only way to go. Lets face it I've have cars come out of the garage that weren't even fit to be on the road. My first and only ever service of my Z by a Nissan dealer almost killed me. Having spent £16K on my Z (it was only 4 years old at the time) they offered to give it a full service. 5 miles down the road at about 85mph I went to brake and the peddle went to the floor as the fluid sprayed everywhere. I managed to negate the bends and pull over, more by luck than skill I'm still alive to tell the tale. Lets face it anyone can cock up, but it's then how they make good what they've done and unfortunately too many refuse to make good. I do agree that often the presure on body shops via insurance company's and big dealerships is whats hurting body shops both in quality and profet, but mechanical and so called tunning houses don't have that same presure and generally charge £40 + per hour. Say yep X price for the job then hit you with ahh well we had to do X Y and Z so the bill is now T. Now there's no excuse for not ringing a customer up and saying look we've found this do you want us to do it. That way the customer can say yes, no, your F'ing joking I'll come down there and remove my car thank you, but even if they didn't. If what you got back was a fixed car and no new bits bust or missing etc then it wouldn't be so bad. However I have experience first hand and know personally of 4 people on this board who have paid a lot of money for a job that not only has not been done properly, but the car returns minus expensive parts or extras, with damage body work, monocock or sub structure that is not only expensive to repair, but will for ever hurt any value of that vehicle. Add to that the personal damage suffered to the individuals who have lovingly cared for and pumped as much money as they can afford into something they see as precious. It fooking hurts and these people should pay by not been able to trade again. If they were licence like a publican with a standards body to mediate and dish out penalty's. Top penalty being licence removal (and no way of getting new licence for a minimun of 5 years) they'd take far more care of peoples property and the quality and standard of workmenship that left their doors. Until that happens I've decided that its cheeper to buy a big garage, your own 2 poster and do it all yourself. That way you know its done properly. By the way Mr Body Work Plus Leigh speeks very highly of you and my mate Lee who owns Wrexham Auto Kraft has just bought a massive place which someone is going to have to pay for. So even thought I love his work if his prices start to reflect the size and grandure of his new place I my be giving you a buzz. I'm bloody fussy though.
  24. When I heard this on the news yesterday I thought, yep and the guys on the 300zx forum account for about half of that total.    :smash:
