  5. Thanks Guys You should see it now that the polished pipes, CAS and throttle bodies it really looks the danglies now. I've got a problem with my computor and it won't let me post pic's at the mo but I will soon.
  6. Check out rides section and look for sgt C's rides. His Strosek bodied SWB is know as Zelda. It has the best interior on the forum and the engine and running gear is only slighty modded and low milage. A very nice car. One of the best.

So what the copper is saying to you is that All early lotus Elise and 930 Porsche's etc any car that came standard with stick on plates as standard have been made illegal? I got the information from the M.O.T website ages ago. Also seach google legal requirements of number plates. The Law only came into force in November 1997. So any car that is pre 1997 cannot be illegal to have one. Just the same as number plates with black backgrounds. I carn't remember when they stopped them being legal, but it can only apply to vehicals built after that date. You cannot retro spectively apply a law. Otherwise nearly all clasic cars would be illegal as they don't comply with number plates, seat belts, Radial tyres, dip and high beam, indicators and Fog lights. The only law that has been retrospectively applied on the grounds of safety to other road users is rear break lights.
  8. Be careful. Be very careful. Thats just how I started and look at my spec in rides now.
  9. Top Idea. Where did you get it from. I'm thinking of getting a couple of Dirt bikes and a jet ski for when we go down to the Static. Don't fancy going in the pickup then having to drive that all the time. The Zed is for weekends and stuff not the pickup. Thats for work.
  10. You aint doing this before we go to Germany are you? I'll be going with scratches chips and all imperfections courtesy of our best mate. Even come to light as I've stripped the ancillaries off my engine that quite a few of the parts I gave him never found their way on to my engine. To the point I'm looking for the warenty form API to check the engine number.
  11. Did you get your HICAS sorted or was it the anti roll bars. Who you getting to repaint it. I know a top guy, Lee at Wrexham Autokraft. + Leigh's (Friday) mate is good from the few bits I've seen of his work. I'm going to Lee at wrexham AutoKraft to have a full respray in Jan and have my explosion wide arches and side skirts fitted. Perhaps we could do a group buy.  Oh yes I nominated myself chairman of the GPS victims asociation and you as Secretary. Now don't get any Ideas
  12. It Started a John Dixons motor. Which I have to add he gave me   Unfortunately none of us realizes that a plug had been remove and because it had just sat around for 2 years the bore had corroded quite badly. Which was a pitty as I was just hoping to drop it in and go. It had Only done about 18000 miles. Once I discovered that and knew both engines need a rebuild it was a no brainer as to which one I rebuilt as JD engine had done so little. Then things got out of hand and I've replace just about every moving part aprt from the cams and the Valves. "daves_new_ZX, JonLowndes101" I'll clean it regularly and avoid big puddles. So am I. Why did I not go to Phil in the first place. The guy is a star. Every time I go there he's fixed something that was done wrong by you know who or he's made bits to feed pipes and wire through in better places etc. I even said "look Phil I'll sort these things + I don't want my bill to go sky High". He just say no i'l not charge you for that cos ya couldn't put it back together looking like that. What a star. Everybody I'm glad you like my engine, BECAUSE I LOVE IT :hyper:  :D and I'll post some pic later once all my throttle bodies, CAS and other bit I spent all day yesterday polishing go on.
  13. Yep it's a beauty and it's all mine :nana2: :nana2: :nana2:
  14. Up yours Mr Turbo I'm dyslexic and so are both my sons.
  15. Partly right Jim, but I think Pete is talking Nylon type tyres that with high temps are great, but in the UK are nothing short of dangerous. Pete get some Bridgestone S02's on and your car will be transformed. You really need to be looking at 225's up front and 265's on the rear. Wether you go for 18's or not. Then when your confident with your car start letting that arse hang out :nana2: :nana2:
  16. There they are now but make sure you watch the male brain
  17. Hope this works Scientist have carried out extensive studies of the female Brains and have discovered remarkable similarities between all womens brains and all mens brains. Yet the difference between man and womens brains is so different it is hard believe they are from the same species a Typical womans brain on the left. With the typical male brain below

  19. Ah it was yours on the ramp on Thursday then? Yep I'm abserlutely over the moon so far. Its the first time I've been to a Z garage where they ring me up every morning and tell me what they've done and send pics. Normal Z garages leave you for months in the dark :nono: not Phil. He has even told me I carn't put my rocker covers back on as they were and I've had to have em reprayed. Shit he's even painted my fuel rail today because it didn't look up to the quality of the rest of it. Besides the rebuild he's put the proper clutch master on the car, bolted the clutch peddle box in properly because Kung Foo hadn't even bolted it to the bulkhead and generally started fixing all the shit half finished jobs they did. The guy is a star.
  20. Standard size Toga racing shells and small ends.
  21. OH my here we go with more pics of my engine. Its that pretty that I'm considering getting a runner for my car and having this as a Masterpiece in my loung.
  22. It's different Leigh and I must sat not what I expected. A little more conservertive than I imagined. i'll have to study it for a while. The jury is out I'm affraid. I honestly don't know what to make of it.
  23. The man is a 300zx mechanical animal Look there's even more I'll have to p[ost tomorrow as my computor at home is playing up and i carn't post pic's on this site????????????? Bottom These are sound the thing is almost finished in 2 days.

Read the regs and i'm confident that I could win my case in court with it. The regs say it most be clearly legable at X distance and that the background must be X size and letters X size (carn't be arsed to look it up for mesurements) that Stick on number plates became illegal after 1997 (my car is 1994 and therefor not subject to those rules) but no rules as to the angle of the number plate. So it's legal.
  25. A rebuild is only as good as the engineer who does it. I know from bitter experience having spent £1000's only in 2004/5 to have a car that only managed 2000 miles, because they asured me that it only needed honing. :headvswal . Hine sight is a wonderful thing. So what ever you do choose carefully, because it will cost a lot if the lump has to come out again.
