  1. Not sure i would leave it up on axle stands for too long. I say this only as I have left my 2nd Z / breaker on axle stands at the rear for several months. The fronts on ramps. The result was stress cracks on the rear lights and massive stress cracks on the rear centre panel ! The sills are in fariness totally fooked ( too many winters in the UK) so the structure of the car is probably questionable. However I wonder about weight distribution over a smaller area not designed to take the weight long term? rather than over larger area of rear tyres and suspension designed for the job. I'd stick a set of old wheels / tyres on it. Got to agree with keepin it off the road over winter, except on those nice days- mine maybe 20 years old but when i compare it to my breaker its like looking at 15 years of difference!
  2. I took mine off a while back and stuck up some pics at the time and a how to- not sure how to add a link. search for removed window tints. Looks much better without them IMO.
  3. I know! You can see how bored I was ! :bored:
  4. having replaced my scuttle panels for some new shiny ones the Bonnet hinge covers looked even more tardy so I decided to see if i could tidy them up and relieve some sunday afternoon hangover boredom before: during: after:
  5. Sorry I didnt make it. Had a friend over from Zurich on Saturday and went out for the night = sambucca frenzy! Only thing I was fit to drive on Sunday was the sofa!
  6. sadly not - its in black and needs a rub down
  7. yep no problem mate- i'll get both halves in the car
  8. Is anyone looking for any parts? I have a breaker which i have just started taking apart. Will obviously need to able to fit in the Z so any small ish parts I may be able to bring.
  9. will be interested to know if this works! I bought a decent RS232 to USB converter for about £20 and go no love from it at all :mad2:
  10. weather forecast looks ok- well dry at least!
  11. A rare sighting in my neck of the woods! around 12.45 today, black, low on some nice looking rims
  12. a possible for me! no operations planned this time!
  13. I love the wide arch kit but it has to be done well with the right colour and rest of the car to compliment, wheels, spoiler, skirts, lights etc etc, there are IMO some amazing looking wide arch Z's but I have seen several that just look a bit tacky. Daz, you have a lovely looking car already...boredom can be a dangerous thing! I swapped a slender one for a wide arse one once and was disapointed in the end...she was mad as well though !
  14. Thanks for the reply- couple other niggles up front so time to get it looked at by the sounds of it!
  15. I have checked fluid levels, tyre pressure and for limp wrists! and all ok. When turning left the steering is heavier than when turning right. Not hugely different but definately heavier than the norm. Any ideas?
  16. Thanks Paul- that looks exactly like it. Whats your thoughts on it? I currently just have the stock panel filters. Worth swapping over to if its not worth much second hand?
  17. thanks- its just sitting in the garage so it might buy me a couple of beers
  18. thought it might be- any idea what it worth?
  19. doesnt say anything on it! any ideas?
  20. Cant make this sadly. In for a knee operation on thursday and its on the stop go side!!
  21. I have standard wheel nuts but need a skinny socket for my wheels - got one from halfords with a shiny new breaker bar - as I discovered once a skinny socket without a bar to use it with is a) useless and b) embarassing.:blushing: A few tyre fitters need to use mine as they didnt have a skinny socket either!
  22. thanks for the advice guys. All swapped over and working with correct mileage. Just the damn finger print I left on the inside of the binnacle means I'll have to take it all out again at some point!!!
  23. Thanks all. Parts to start coming off this weekend!
  24. Thanks Jeff, Can you elaborate on this for me? not broken a car before (deliberately!)
