injector problem
Mate has a prob with his Zed, looks like injector 4 has gone. when disconnect injector connector when running nothing changes to engine tune. tried swapping plug and coil pack to prove. Also tried cleaning the injector connectors. Does removal of the injector require plenum remove as the 2 screws seem to be under it. How long does this take? Just wondering how much a garage will charge for this work Also anyone selling an injector :) How much do they cost new? Cheers

Hard suspension.....
had a look at dinner on mine - one was set to near soft the other was set to hard! set both to soft to see what it feels like I was gonna get Nitron for my blade, (pretty sure it was them that were doing custom springs and shocks for my weight) - seemed pretty good Ill see how it feels on way home.

Hard suspension.....
If I soften the front but leave the rears - is that bad?
-
Hard suspension.....
just checked fronts this morning - I can turn the top slot on them to adjust - result :) Was gonna ask about how easy to do rears - would they not have the same slot on? Cant even work out which plastics need to come off to see.... :(

Hard suspension.....
living in pothole city is getting too much for me. My zed has been lowered by 40mm and has adjustable koni's on (so I think). Every bump jars my spine and I have decided I want some comfort. Is it wise/possible to have softer suspension so I glide over the bumps opposed to feel every stone in the road? Is it something I can adjust ....... :) Cheers

Noisy layshaft?
thicker oil? I just got some 75w/90 and some HPLS Wynns transmission treatment - thick enough you reckon?
-
Noisy layshaft?
yeah, i was worried bout that. Cant see it being the metal guard tbh as prop doesnt spin at standstill. Would the bearings be a gearbox out jobbie? Im soooooo hoping that its just low on oil

Noisy layshaft?
I remember reading about a layshaft in a box that spins. My prob is on my manual gearbox is that on tickover I have a whining noise that raises in pitch with the revs. When I press the clutch down it goes totally - this means if im sat at a set of lights or in town I have to keep my clutch down to stop the stares..... It also whines when driving (more if I throttle off I dont notice it but under load its pretty bad) Im going to replace gearbox oil this weekend (hopefully). Do you think this will sort it? Could it be that its low on oil or has old oil that is causing the whine? Cheers

Gearbox oil change... advice
Anyone done this? Dont want to keep phoning Jeff as I know hes busy, and I need this doing asap now. Got the oil and a tube of HPLS transmission treatment. Is the diff different? Im presuming the diff is in the rear axle but the oil I have is mixed (75w/90) so can I use it for the diff too or is it somehow all linked up? Im hoping the gearbox oil change will quieten down my noisy drive. Any techniques to fill/ drain gearbox? Cheers

vacuum hose size?
cheers wasnt sure of the implications of running a different diameter hose. Found a website last night where someone recommended 5mm too? May just go for 4 and pitch in the middle.
-
vacuum hose size?
Im thinking of getting braided brake lines soon, so not after spending too much and getting excess :) Was gonna just order a few metres of black silicone hosing to replace red vacuum I have. Not sure whether its 3 or 4mm I need.

vacuum hose size?
is it 3 or 4mm? Gonna order some silicone hose from fleabay. Any other size recommended for anything else under bonnet whilst Im at it?

Racelogic Traction Control
Sorted :) Or so I think........ After originally tapping into the rpm wire clearly labelled from the turbo timer, I decided to totally remove the turbo timer - still no worky :( So then I decided to follow the turbo timers rpm wire to the ecu - found it covered in tape.... and it was just loosely wrapped round the exposed ecu rpm wire  Removed this and tapped the racelogic direct into the ecu wire myself (properly with solder) and lo and behold I now have a full rpm range on the laptop Rule 1 of owning 2nd hand cars : Never assume anything has been done correctly by someone else - should've done this 1st time round. - The outcome is now I could prob get turbo timer wired back up and working too - may save that for a warmer day. Just need to get out there now and see how good this system is :hyper:

Razo turbo timer....
Looking for the wiring diagram. further to my other post I have disconnected the razo turbo timer now my rqacelogic will not even pick up any rpm signal. so looking for the wiring for the Razo so I can trace back. There are 3 thick wires - Green Red & Blue which I presume go to the ignition somewhere. then 3 other wires (Black - Presume ground), Blue and thin red - the thin blue one is the wire that my racelogic is tapped into but when disconnecting the timer from the loop it loses the rpm signal? - Cant work it out as the thin blue wire is tapped into the ecu and the racelogic is still tapped into the blue even with the timer disconnected - Hope that makes sense :)
