Manual has bigger cams and tubs, maybe some US and later cars changed heads without variable timing. Smaller cams to help power down low on auto and bigger for higher end power manual. Don't know if there's different codes on them, if u had both could most likely measure them.

Thought heads were the same just cam profile that's not.

Anthony Im liking the really smooth look bottom pic is perfect, The othrt 2 don't really do anything for me now, maybe couple yrs bk. Must be getting old lol. See one of those new fiestas in white the other day, had wide bbs style wheels which looked quite small with slightly stretched types and lowered the rest of car was standard smooth looking and I dare say, it looked stunning. And little cars like that don't normally interest me at all. Try pop round tomorrow mate, also good news on the engine.

Hope mine looks like the bottom pic. That's the car that made me buy 99 spec. From that angle still really like the spoilerless look, really smooth . I have 99 spec rear spoiler to go on but unsure if I like it some angles look strange. Love the wheels in bottom pic too. 300zed x I let u know at moment every bit of time I'm off work trying to get zed ready to paint. just undone bolts that hold the straps holding tank up and lowered tank on a jack sprayed above put tank back up removed jack. i had subframe off, which made it easy to get in everywhere subframe only takes about an hr to remove on mine anyhow. yep over what was there jet washed bottom off, then in arches got a rag soaked in thinners gave it a quick wipe round and sprayed the rust remedy primer stuff what came wit kit, then spray stonechip everywhere it everywhere. if it was rusty i would wire brush off has much has possible first then treat it. still what do u reckon on painting it guys, or leave it grey.

hi guys few pics of dinitrol stone chip, how the doors look after aligning the stupid things lol they were a bloody nightmare, i think they close better now flush and level. i know i have issues lol. and my new 99spec bumper, its not painted just getting everything to fit right before taking everything apart to paint the car. the pics may not be great they were taken on my new phone and the settings were wrong it makes it seem blurry if u move. still learning how to use it, phone was in hdr or whatever u call it. do u think it will be ok to leave stonechip this colour or would you spray the bottom black, let me know what use suggest im lost. sorry pics have taken a while here goes (if they work)....

Hi if it's the trim around front screen etc. I used vinyl wrap on mine and it's been great I did mine in carbon look. But u could probably buy plain black. It's been on car ages still looks the same no scratches or chips like paint more then likely will.

Sprayed it either side of plastic mostly and dusted it over plastic, check but sure it says it won't harm plastic or rubber, and all seems ok ain't melted or anything. Will get some pics up tomorrow, then u guys can make your minds up if it's done ok. I have no space, just jacked it up on stands wheels off, jet washed bottom while laying under it, a lot of crap came off I know cause it all ended up on me lol. Left it few days so I know it's dry. Then sprayed away. I took my tank and subframe off, exhaust etc but doubt it would hurt spraying subframe with it, it's like a rubber paint proberly protect that too save it chipping up. I'd make sure I masked up brakes, shafts etc. Cheers for all the replys atleast I have some people to talk about zeds with I bored everyone else to death lol.

The pack I got was around £90 delivered from eBay, just write stone chip in and they come up, there's rattle can kits and schutz gun kits I got schutz kit, got smallest compressor ever and it sprayed fine. Most classic car clubs rate it, I have never done it before, so I'm no expert and suppose only time will tell. To be honest though my seals and under my car have no rust it would put a lot of new cars to shame, so it must be quite good from factory cause it's an 1989 z I just trying to make stay clean a while longer. Sprayed the whole car underneath and it looks great in grey so clean just don't know whether to paint over it in black I reckon if paint was like the top of car it would wash off easy. It looks like it will last even sprayed fuel tank, tank straps, pipe from fuel filler, brake lines etc just masked up rubber pipe from fuel tank. Warning though I think it will be ok, but there's storys of water getting trapped above some types of underseal, stone chips etc. Reading on the net was confusing me so I just went and done it and I see how it works out. Yep this car is driving me nuts, it is a long list but I hope it's worth it. Cheers for replys. Didn't get chance of pics tonight daughters birthday party try again tomorrow.

Hi guys, this car is keeping me very busy. bought a dinitrol package from eBay the one for Subaru. Came with 4cans of stone chip 3cans of cavity wax can of rust stuff and can of clear wax. And a schutz gun have everything from under car stripped off subframe, fuel tank the lot so thought I'd spray it all lol, it's in my hair and everywhere so it had better be bloody worth it lol. sprayed rear arches, back end of car fuel tank, tunnel either side of tunnel and have one can left of stonechip hoping it will do front arches and any little bits left or may have to buy one more can. It's over paintable, but I have the grey and it looks really good, don't think u have to paint it wondering whether leave it grey, do u think it will look bad in few weeks when it gets dirty. Aligned my doors ended up cutting the spot welds from the hinges, getting the doors right and re welding them, put my new 99spec bumper on not painted it yet, trying to get everything perfect fit before painting the whole car. Took rear light panel out, bought set of 99spec replicas and broke one lol, so buying a new set of original 99specs. Got a 99spec rear spoiler, it's fitted to the boot waiting for paint. Gonna get a set of type s side skirts, Welding areiel hole get rid of it, no rear wiper aswell. Still gotta take engine out to paint engine bay, reshelled my uk car couple yrs back painted the shell everywhere was like a new car and then master cylinder leaked and took all my new paint off. Why engine is out gonna rebuild it and get new ball bearing tubs. Painting suspension parts, brackets etc, got m6 stainless bolts for wings and anywhere else they fit courtesy of work lol. Thought I'd go on about what I have been doing on here misses is getting very bored with z storys. Try get some pics up with camera tomorrow,

This is what I'm worried about, rest of my car seems ok no peeling just the front bumper. I have a dent in the back where I reversed into my van lol and the paint is still fine there it's a metal part of the car. Reading on google there's stuff called bull dog, and they talk about buying stuff that makes paint more flexible, I just don't want it all to peel.

Was hoping to sort of know what I'm talking about, so I can tell him what to do, and give him the stuff he paints for a living, but my last bumper peeled in places though it may not be his fault cause had paint below his and that came off too. Mines White, had red underneath but left the bumper looking yellow which is probley the bumper itself.

Great I will order some with paint. Just need to get some side skirts from car mad Saving up. With the 99spec spoiler from u should look good, I hope lol. Got him painting whole car again, pulling engine cause I chipped engine bay a bit putting engine in. Gonna rebuild engine why it's out. Lots of work, was a clean car now looks like a scrapper on the drive.

Yeah painter is my bro in law painted my car few times and paints really good, it's only when my last bumper was painted, while later my cambelt broke, and we dragged it back home on a rope when we turned a couple of sharp corners rope rubbed on bumper and it peeled of then it got worse flaking more. I just don't want it to happen again and I'm gonna pick up paint etc, so if I bought other stuff I'd order him to use it lol. Seems maybe I just have to be careful, just don't wanna run over a slightly high curb and end up with paumint flaking everywhere on my new bumper. Cheers for the replys guys. Just sold a set of 6 pot led lights in the black pods, plus a full lengh panel with 2 of the led lights each side for £100, bought the 6 pots on there own on here for £250 fitted them and didn't like them on my whit zed, looked very plain. Jasons look great candy blue with crystal clear glass but White with clear just had nothing going on. And the lights don't seal properly into the fibre glass so everytime I opened a window it dragged exhaust fumes in and tried to kill me lol. Hi guys, I got an original 99spec front bumper today 3wks of waiting lol. It's new and never been painted, any tips on how to paint it, got someone doing it for me, but unsure what to buy, last bump the paint cracked when towing car the rope chipped some paint and then it started chipping more and more. Someone said u get stuff to put in paint to make it flexible, and special primer. What order would Do they go on. Also another paint question, putting some stone chip in my rear arches can I stone chip over old stone chip or do I have to remove it all. Any help appreciated, thank u.

Hi ian, check the fuse in engine bay left of brake master cylinder mine went once and had to look really close to see it was blown, goodluck with new z.

Bloody he'll was just saying in exotic pet post about adder bite lol, did u have anti venom. Mine swelled past 3 joints or somthing like that so had too. With adrenalin needle at end of my bed. Got bit on finger arm ended up huge, then went black and blue, still ain't learned though still go picking them up, got a thing about snakes god knows why. Reason the adder got me was I'd never seen one before only grass snakes, and in pics they look bigger then they actually are, so I saw it's tail went to pull it out the bush and he got me thought his head was gonna be like 3ft away but nope was only about 18 inches long. Still took him to the hospital with me they wasn't amused lol.
