paint advice please, before I set fire to it....
U reckon it Will cure under the 2pac or just take it off, Should have dried cause its been couple of weeks, and was not soft like that before primer. Only thing I can think I may of done is put stonechip on to thick, or primer on to thick and sitting on stonechip to long wet and soaking in. If I take it off is a wire brush on a drill the best way... Thank u for the reply

paint advice please, before I set fire to it....
Hi guys, Primered engine bay yesterday, and was happy till I got home from work, Seem to have a reaction problem, I used dinitrol stonechip that is overpaintable on the chassis rails either side of engine bay at the bottom and the area where battery tray is plus the opposite side, thought it may be a bit harder wearing... Stonechip was dried for maybe couple weeks before it got painted over, came home had a bubble so picked it and it pulls of in lumps has u can see in one of the pics, the stonechip is soft and sticky now so primer has reacted somehow, The other pic is where I have pushed my finger nail in, all the rest of bay is rock hard and won't scratch just where stonechip is. Really pi@#ed off, will it dry or will I have to remove it all, Even know it's on places u don't see don't want to risk stuff happening down there and it chipping off, It's etch primer, dinitrol stone chip overpaintable, and 2k high build someone please tell new what's happened I'm so depressed lol.

what would u do with this...
The 2 main chassis rails either side of bay I stone chipped that's why it looks really bumpy I'm hoping it will protect it a bit better down there.. And where battery tray is and opposite side is stonechipped,

By spring it will all be done and I can't wait lol..

Hi guys I got the engine bay in primer tonight made a little shelter out of a car cover lol, a little electric fire and all went quite well. Had the fire on till started spraying then when finished turned fire on again... Drivers side looks great passager side is ok but not perfect where seams are. Couple pics.. Now gotta flat it all down, for top coat. Cheers for looking.

:blushing: thank u, I'll post some pics when it's finished, so can see it all done with my dodgy repair...lol.. I done it to has good has I could, not really welded old cars much and used filler once before which didn't work out to good, but looks like it's getting there now. I'm happy with my repair its the other side I'm stuck on cause I ain't welded seams that side can't filler over it to make a smooth look, so trying to smooth seam sealer out so looks smooth but it's harder then it looks, for me anyhow. .

what would u do with this...
Oh I used thinners lol, will it do anything to it, Horrible stuff to use, I thought would be easy with mastic gun to make a bead like stock seam sealer, It's so hard to keep same speed moving plus pumping it out and not shake. Cheers for reply

what would u do with this...
Hi guys I been welding a bit in the engine bay due to rust in drivers side seam in engine bay posted up a while back ended up with a huge hole lol, Problem I now have is all the seams on drivers side are fully welded and smoothed out and look nice, But the other side the Seams are just spot welded, and don't really want to weld them up cause just stone chipped all the arch and underneath and the heat is gonna peel it off and will have to do it all again. I took the standard bead of seam sealer off on passanger side and was gonna do both sides with new seam sealer even though on drivers side didn't have a seam it was just to look the Same, But that seems easier said then done. I took passenger side seam sealer off because I knew I wouldn't be able to match the way they done it perfectly and thought if I do both sides atleast it will look the same, but what a mess I made got a gun and tube of sika flex but it's so hard to get it right and ended up taking it all of again. So now the passenger side I put a thin bead of sealer on and with my finger and thinners smoothed it out which looks better but the side with seams welded up looks so good it makes the original look crap.. Here's some pics what would use do just leave it has it is, weld this side up and 're stonechip arch etc , or any tips on another way to make seam sealer more smooth.. This is the side I welded up and smoothed out And this is it with primer on it got dark and I made runs everywhere but didn't care cause gonna flat it back smooth anyhow so don't laugh This is passenger side with seams not welded up And with this with seam sealer smoothed out has best I could but looks so bad to how smooth other side came out but it will smooth up a bit a lot of it is runs in primer where I blasted it on and was getting dark. I'm crap with spray gun so bro in law is gonna come round and primer and spray it properly just don't wanna call him round paint it and not be happy, god I wish I wasn't so fussy everyone keeps saying it's in the engine bay who's gonna see it, It's just if I do something I want it to look right.

Relocation brackets?
Didn't know about rears, I thought he may be able to buy set for £500 fit fronts and sell rears. To be honest didn't even think of changing rears would it really be worth it, just the fronts should make a huge difference. Glad u mentioned it, should have said what I ment lol. Thank u

Relocation brackets?
Hi, Don't know how much u have to spend but found a set of brembo 350z calipers £500, on eBay. Can't work out on my stupid phone how to link u to it... Front and rear calipers with disc. I typed in brembo brake calipers and scrolled down till I found them. Sure u only have to drill the holes a little larger on the front hubs and they bolt straight on then..

Hopefully they will look good with my car there the same white has the car. Cause my new wheels have black centres thought the white will go well, bet they get dirty quick. Well if I'm still alive tomorrow, gonna do the rears and then paint engine bay. Think I'll call me bro in law to paint the bay, rather him then me lol.

2k paint help..
Hi guys wanted a bit of advice. Bought some 2k paint and painted my brake calipers in my garage. Which they came out ok, but they didn't dry hard so thought we'll it must be to cold so put them in my house oven in the kitchen. Which has worked and there hard now. But been reading on the net and everyone saying this stuff is lethal, I allways where a mask and normally use cellulose. Really worried now will the oven be ok to use again for food I've cleaned it right out. Was reading and it says u can't grow food or anything in my garden etc.. Is this true... My mask is a twin cartridge one not a throw away one, will that be ok or am I gonna be ill. And can I go in my garage anymore. Sorry for questions can't get a straight answer on the net, and worried so thought I'd ask here has we all mess with cars. Any advice appreciated.
