  1. If you think £250 is expensive go ask Techtom or a Nissan dealer what a consult or HDM-2000 costs... Even the simple Techtom MDM100 costs more then a ConZult and it can only do a tiny part of what you're able to do with a ConZult. Do a search on the internet for any generic OBD(2) software package and you'll find that the ConZult actually is a bargain compared to other similar packages. By the way..the software alone won't do anything. It's the electronics in the interface cable that do most of the work -Eric Sorry..I always get upset if I see posts like this.. We've spend a LOT of time in developping the ConZult and tried to keep the price as low as possible to the Z-community.

Is it a loud sound ? Could have something to do with the VTC-solenoids, but usually this is barely audible. Sometimes the plugs of the detonation sensor and the VTC solenoid are swapped (since they are the same) -Eric

I recently installed "universal" sensors with the same thread in my Zed. The price was around 80 Euro for 2 sensors I had to use the connectors and a piece of wire from the old sensors, but apart from that they seem to work fine and also on the ConZult everything looks fine (voltage levels, etc) -Eric

  6. Yes it is... It is (also) used by the computer that controls the aircon/climate-control -Eric
  7. The passenger side bottle is the coolant overflow tank....and it shouldn't be empty !! -Eric

  9. Maybe the dealer you went to only has the new type consult.. This because there are 2 types of (Nissan) Consults around... The old type, which the ConZult software was based upon and a new type Consult, which is able to do OBD2. (cars from 1996 and newer) The new type won't connect to a Zed, without a special adapter The old type Consult, when connected to a 300ZX (twinturbo), has at least 3 sections (Engine, HICAS and Aircon) and for the automatic Zeds there is a fourth section to monitor the ECU of the automatic gearbox. The new type Consult, when connected to a Zed, only has the Engine monitor section and if the car has an airbag, it'll also show a second section to check the ECU for the Airbag (this option is not available on the old type consult and not yet on the conzult software). Most dealers have the new type consult, because 90% of the cars they maintain are from 1996 or later and are only OBD2 compatible.. This is probably when they get confused if you ask them to connect the consult to your Zed, also since the connector doesn't fit (most dealers don't have the adapter). And when they DO have the adapter, they'll only be able to read/monitor the engine ECU. Hope this clears up a few things ;) -Eric
  10. have a look at http://www.mobile.de choose "suchen" and choose "Marke": Nissan, "modell": 300 and for " Erstzulassung" choose "ab 1990" It's a kind of European Autotrader, though mostly German cars. But I've seen a few Spanish Zeds for sale on there as well.. -Eric

The ring is closed until late March as far as I know. Here's a schedule: http://www.nuerburgring.de/eng/angebote/sf_n_q1.htm or see the mainsite of the ring: http://www.nuerburgring.de -Eric
  12. Mark, maybe this might be helpful: http://www.aus300zxclub.com/tech/ops/ops.htm -Eric
  13. I know of someone, but I'm afraid the bracket isn't available anymore for certain reasons ;) Apart from that..isn't the oilbracket of a Jspec VG30DETT engine completely different ? (since the oilpress. sensor is located somewhere else) -Eric
  14. Mark, in this setup it's probably best to block the existing oil feedline and have the electric pump do all the work. You could still use the returnline though, since it goes straight to the sump I don't know what temperature the diff-pump kicks in...I'll have to look it up A small pressure sensor in the return line after the cooler and electric pump could warn you if something went wrong in case the pump fails or something starts to leak. (Although in the current system you also run the risk to loose a lot of oil in case of a leaking oilcooler.) You could also place the pick up pipe at a "safe" position, so it won't loose all oil in case of a severe leak. Another advantage of an electric pump is that you can connect a timer to the pump (and electric airconfan), so the pump keeps running after the engine has been shut down...sort of like a turbo timer, but better IMHO -Eric
  15. I already had a discussion with Mark about this very interesting subject. Personally I think Nissan have choosen to use a pressure operated valve for a good reason. They have extensively tested these engines on testbenches and on tracks and they must have had a good reason not to go for a temperature operated valve. So what about an external (electric) oilpump that pumps the oil from the sump through the cooler ? You could even make this pump temperature/rpm operated if needed I was thinking of using the electric gearboxpump that is on the UK/EURO-spec Zeds. You'll have to create a tap in the sump to get the oil from and you can use the stock return line. -Eric
  16. at least my interior has style :D http://www.motorzone.com.au/images/OOHMY/MotorZone6.jpg ...and you know silver Zeds belong to the elite ! ;)
  17. Just a small update for those that already have a Conzult: Soon I will release a new version of the software with some new features and bugfixes. Please send in your registrationforms (if you didn't already) or let me know your email-address and serialnumber of your ConZult, so I can notify you where and when the new software can be downloaded. -Eric

  20. I don't think the ABS is causing it, but you can (temporarily) disconnect the ECU which is behind the driver seat behind the interior Do you have stock or aftermarket wheels ? I noticed some aftermarket wheels seem to make the brake judder a lot worse Also it's VERY important that all wheelbolts have been tensioned the same (not too tight), since the bolts not only hold the wheels, but also the discs -Eric
  21. I checked the European FAST and Japanese FAST manuals and both show the same partnumber for the condenser. BUT: it needs to be from a car that has about the same age/serie since there are different series.(90-92, 92-94 or 94+) -Eric
  22. for the 2+0 it is: 28910-30P00 TANK ASSY - WINDSHlELD WASHER -Eric
