Cheers Chris. I'm at a wedding this weekend in Preston so may not be able to make the meet. Will try and pop along though. To be honest most of the probs are fairly minor, but have got me a bit puzzled (severe clutch judder, no rear side lights, incorrect speedo etc.) I've got the HICAS/power steering problem (after a few minutes the steering goes stiff and HICAS light comes on). Since posting this thread I read the post on here about this problem and will try a few things on Friday - it may be that the hicas boss is fitted incorrectly as I had the steering wheel replaced about the time the problem occurred (Momo wheel with Mike Feeney boss). Most of all, I just want to run some tests on it as we have been playing around with the electrics a lot and I want to make sure nothing is malfunctioning as a result. Cheers Rich

Hi guys having a few probs with my car, and am reluctant to take it to Nissan as they will charge but prob not fix!!! Figured the first step was a Conzult, but don't really want to splash out £265 for the amount of use it will get. Does anyone in NE have one I could borrow?? Alternatively does anyone in teh NE want to group together to buy a pool one?? (Sorry if this is bad practice Danny!!!! :D ). Cheers Rich

Not water I don't think, but it has been sat in Peter's workshop for best part of 9 months covered in dust which probs doesn't help much. I'll check those connections and give them a good clean.

Know what you mean, but the gauge is reading fine all the time except when the car is stuttering. Vijay - it really won't pull when the problem occurs, foot goes down engine note stays the same or falters. I've just driven about 20 mile round trip, some on motorway and some on normal A roads. The stuttering (previously only lasting for a few minutes when first starting up) is in all gears at low revs. Sometimes (say coming off a roundabout onto a slip road) you expect the car to pull and it just won't. I am wondering if the lack of boost is the result rather than the cause. The car stutters and will not pull, then it starts to pull again and the boost is fine. Reckon it could be a sparking problem. Here's a question - what plugs and where do I get them??

Cheers. Really will be all show and no go!! :D I guess it could be 2 seperate problems!?! Intermittent tub problem (e.g. causing zero boost when first starting up), and sparks or something similar causing the problem when under heavy load. Cadpaul - not sure. Not for a couple of years at least I'd guess. I've just driven back to Newcastle from Blackpool. When I first started it, for about 5 minutes (as before), there was no boost past about 0. Then it was fine. I gave it a bit of welly on the motorway and it was fine most of the time except when I hit about 5500 revs when it cut out. This time I noticed it happened in 3rd and 4th at roughly the same point in the rev range! Weird! p.s. it may have issues, but still knocked the smile off a merc cl something that was up my a$$, a 3-series beemer and a souped up MR2, although the latter was not too far behind!!

:D I'm going to check the pipes etc (planning on putting smithy's hard pipe and rad pipe kits on this weekend anyway, so I'll check while I'm under there. I really don't want to have to spend on the mechanics just yet - still reeling from totalling up the mods so far. :shock:

Paul - No strange noises that I can hear mate, it just loses power. If I back off and then start to accelerate again its fine. The power is there in all other gears/revs. Could the turbo be seizing and then releasing?

I have noticed that when I hit 5000 revs in 4th gear, I suddenly drop power. The car lunges forward and the boost drops out. The jerk is almost like I've hit the rev limiter or something. The problem does not occuir in any other gear as far as I can tell. The only other symptoms I noticed this morning were that when I started the car (either cold or after filling up with petrol), the car will hardly boost for the first few minutes. The needle gets to 0 (on stock and aftermarket) and no further. Is this safety boost? It clears after a few minutes and then is fine until I turn the engine off again for a few minutes. Other than that the car will boost to 11psi and seems to run fine. Any ideas??? Thanks Rich

Can anyone send me a jpg (or other format) of the z logo. I am having some custom aluminium cut this week (in time for Billing :hyper: ) and want a z cut out of it. The guy wants a graphics file to input as a template in his CAD system. The larger and higher the resolution, the better. Preferably just in 2 colours (fore and back). Thanks Rich

Well I have to say that that is as clear as mud. Can someeone who knows the score please, please, please answer the following: 1. when I arrive (Saturday morning), can I definitely pay on the gate (i.e . is it likely to sell out). 2. can I definitely park on the 300zx stand, and will someone direct me to it when I get there? 3. is the camping area next to the cars? Do you mean in the centre console? Its actually my Apple iPod (mp3 player). I've got my entire CD collection on it (and its less than a quarter full!), so they're at my finger tips any time. Martin modified the iPod car power adapter into a fibreglass dock. The iPod simply slots in and away you go! Incidentally, the unit fits straight into the space where the cigarette lighter and ashtray were. Genius.

Thanks guys! Without wanting to jump on the bandwagon of gypsy haters, the Hoppings fair (huge travelling fair) has a reputation for increasing the crime rate in my area when it arrives each year. They are leaving this week and I hope to God it was a last ditched crime spree before they head off!!!
