  1. Ahh cheers mate :D  See the mutual respect that us wide-asses have for each other and our motors :hurl:
  2. Agreed. I reckon SgtC's is a loverly looking motor!!!! Another bit of PPS wideass genius I believe??? Rich
  3. Nah mate, I'm not planning to sell in the near future. After all the time and effort (and money!!) thats gone into it, I want to get some fun out of it before I sell. I'd be interested in what you thought i'd get for it though (no where near what I've spent I'd wager!). Cheers Rich
  4. ha ha, that'll be me then! I've responded to your PM matey. Will let you know ... Cheers Rich
  5. seems to be down now though!

  8. Grrr, shut it you!!! :mac1:  Yay!! Cheers Andy mate :hyper: If I brought it over next week would you get a chance to look at it through the week or are you too busy/would the dark nights prevent it? Just thinking that if we identified the problem and needed to order bits, I could leave it over here until the bits arrive - assuming you have time to fit them etc ... I need to be in Newcastle for most of the coming weekends thats all. If you want to PM me your number/email I could call/mail you if its easier. Cheers Rich
  9. yeah good idea!!! ... as long as the contents is not just slagging off Geordies
  10. PM'd but with no luck. Don't think he likes Geordies lol.
  11. Andy I understand you have abit of an engine rebuild on your hands  , but was hoping you might have a chance to look at the suspension setup on my motor. When I had it lowered, I noticed that one front wheel is closer to the front of the wheelarch than the other. Obviously don't want to drive the car until its fixed :( Any chance you can help in the near future??? :D I'm working in St Annes through the week, so could limp it over here one Monday. Cheers Rich
  12. Cheers guys!!! Andy you there mate??
  13. Had new springs (white line) and shocks (Koni) fitted to the zed and noticed front off-side wheel is almost touching the wheel arch whereas near-side is ok. Having investigated further it seems the car is not lower at one side, but the off-side wheel is closer to the front of the wheel arch than the near-side wheel. Is this normal?? Does it just need wheel alignment?? The car is almost undriveable. Can anyone recommend someone in the Preston/Blackpool area who could look at this, set it up and have it laser aligned etc.?? It has a really low front on it so that may limit my choices. :D Cheers Rich
  14. its the other kind of bill you need to be worried about after thrashing your car round a track lol. Seriously though, does sound like an excellent idea.
  15. B4stards. Had some of the lads post on their various forums. Was already on Civic Type-R forum and MLR. Someone posted it on SV650 biking forum as well - word is getting around!!! Hope he finds it one piece!! Cheers Rich

lol. I missed that thread that Macca just linked to. It was only last week when I was in PPS that Peter mentioned my car had been in. I heard at the time that they'd been moseying around at Billing - I was still unconscious at the time unfortunately. :D And before you ask - yes I did buy the mag!!! Pete - the car looked mint on Friday all polished up and under the lights. To be honest I reckon those photos will look best in a "studio" style environment. Fas - I was there for a bit when the guys arrived. They were asking about mine (as its potentially due to be featured soon) and were showing a lot of interest in this other wide arch that is in the making. Not sure who that belongs to though ;)
  17. Long post, but kind of related. My previous motor was a Cerbera and it was insured on a TVR owners policy. When I sold it, I didn't know what I wanted so I bought my mate's 300 off him. Quarter of the value less power and believe it or not A LOT less expensive to fix (hence the fact I sold the cerb). Despite this, my insurance premium went up BY about 300 quid a year. Since the 300 was only a temp measure I stuck with it until I decided to keep it (approx 12 months now!!) when I moved to Houghtons and it dropped to about a third of the price I had been paying on the TVR policy. When I asked, they said that its a TVR specific policy, we investigate specifically the risks associated with drivers of this car. This includes repair costs, number of TVR related accidents, number of thefts (relatively low since the cars are not easy to sell on stolen), the sector of the driving public that tends to drive them (older, allegedly maturer drivers who are likely to have experience of driving such cars etc.). There is also the aspect of economies of scale. You put your prices particularly low, attract a lot of drivers and make less profit per unit insured, but more profit overall. None of these aspects individually can explain the excellent premiums we are enjoying, but in total it makes sense. Remember also that zeds are dropping in value significantly. This can mean 2 things - (a) finding a replacement for a competitive price is more likely and (b) more likely to write it off if accident damaged as the value of repair likely to exceed value of car. Remember just cause you told you insurance company that you value the car at £7000 does not mean thats how much you'll get if you claim total loss!!!
  18. "i no uve gotta decript them all, i dunno if he passed english or not!!!" LMFAO
  19. Ahh it could be that. There was an aerial type contraption on the front bumper (which has now been replaced). Might disconnect it and see what happens ... any other suggestions before I disconnect some "important" gismo that will result in me being unable to stop or something?? lol. Cheers Rich
  20. Does anyone have an idea what the strange black box is that is mounted via metal bracket on the underside of the driver knee panel (trim that goes under the steering column). It looks aftermarket (due to its strange position and use of "bullet" connectors as opposed to the usual plugs), and is a bit bigger than a pack of playing cards. It also has a number of wires disappearing up into the dash and into the loom. Cheers Rich
  21. Hey mate let us know when you're popping up to PPS, I'll pop over. Might be over there this weekend so will have a look.
  22. I used to build PCs for my use and for friends and family. I used to buy the bits from computer fairs which take place at sports halls and arenas around the country and offer loads of suppliers with huge discounts. I stopped a couple of years back because despite the good prices at computer fairs, the mail order boys that buy in bulk are far more competitive. Obviously if you build yourself, you know will the machine inside and out, and know what decisions you made in terms of trading off cost and performance etc. However, there is nothing to stop you specifying your machine (even down to the make and model of sound card/graphics card etc) and having a supplier build it for you. You can still upgrade it yourself (bigger disk, processor, mnemory or other peripherals) whenever you feel the need. However it does mean that in the mean time you get the manufacturers warranty on all the components, but you get their warranty on the build (obviously check the small print). Plus, there is more to building a PC than plugging it together. Just look at the benchmark tests in any "techy" PC magazine and see how similar spec machines perform differently. That level of tweaking is performed by relative experts and will be fixed by those same experts if you find that you are having problems (from games not running to unstable windows etc.). I bought a Carerra SSC PC in the end (about 12 months ago) because my home build kept crashing when I was doing a friends wedding video. It was definitely a driver related problem, but I could not get to the bottom of it - even with help from far techier people than me. This is a fantastic piece of kit (use for Digital Video work and for music studio stuff) and looks pretty cool too not the usual beige monster! Carerra's website lets you pick and choose components, warranty and delivery options, and updates the price at the bottom of the screen as you make your selections. Then when you ralise you have blown your budget, you can go and select smaller monitor, cheaper graphics etc uyntil you have a price and spec that suits. They aren't the cheapest but are highly recommended. Not the shortest post in the world, but hope it helps. Cheers Rich
  23. Alright Paul matey, I'm in Newcastle (centre) and unable to travel until mine is back on its feet, which should be within the month fingers crossed. Cheers Rich
