Richards Z - Nearly finshed !!!!!!!
Thanks Martin!! It HAS been a long time coming, but is taking shape rapidly!! :hyper: :hyper: I cannot speak highly enough of the talent of the guys who have worked on this car over the last 7 months!! ... Peter@PPS - What can I say thats not been said!?! Pete is well known on here for his quality workmanship and experience with zeds (not to mention the trademark cap!!), and has done yet another superb job on this car!!! Martin@IceWorks (based at PPS) - has that rare mix of creativity and being bloody clever! Has sculpted the interior, including a custom ipod dock and done all the electronics/satnav/ice etc. Plus he has the patience of a saint dealing with customers who keep changing their minds!!! Angus@Kish Executive - this guy pays extreme attention to detail and takes great pride in his work (as David Beckham and I have found out, and Ronaldo will find out shortly). Excellent quality materials and workmanship. Bizarrely they are all based in and around Seaham near Sunderland!?!?!? :D Squillions of pics to post, which I will get to at the weekend. Here are a few development pics for starters: http://www.goonanglais.com/300zx/300zx.htm Whats going on with my long posts today??? :slap: Cheers Rich

Insurance Claim - Advice Please!??!?
Right. A bit of advice please. I use a hire car each week for travelling between Newcastle and Blackpool. On 16th April I was back in Newcastle, travelling up a short single carriageway road which has shops and a lane for parking down one side. As I was driving up the road on the same side of shops, a woman walked out between 2 cars and started to walk alongside the cars towards me. She seemed quite far out so I moved over towards the middle of the road. As I was passing her, she had reached her car and turned to open it. Her bag (on her shoulder) clipped the wing mirror which made a "crack" and bent in. I thought if it is broken, she is going to have to pay, so stopped 20 yards up on other side of road. THe mirror was ok, and so was she. She got into the car and I headed off. Phone call from Police this morning asking me for details of the incident. She is claiming that her elbow was struck by my wing mirror and she had recently had back surgery and it jolted her back. The police guy was fine about it, but I have got to sign the statement at the weekend. He asked if I was insured on my own or through Avis. It was through avis. He couldn't confirm, but it sounds like she is making a claim. I believe that it would be a fraudulent claim against my insurance because it was her fault. She walked into the road, turned and struck the car, not the other way round. She was on the road side of a parked car, not on a pavement. I also believe it was her bag that struck the mirror not her arm. It has also taken her 6 weeks to register the incident. Any comments/advice???

Daft Question??
Thanks mate. It currently has Jap clocks in with a converter so that the clocks will read MPH instead of KPH. I assume it is a different converter that you are talking about? If anyone does have a spare set of Jap clocks I could buy, I'd prefer this option as I have just purchased some indiglo dials for the Jap clocks from Vijay. Thanks Rich

Daft Question??
I MAY have broken my clocks :xxx: If I stick some UK clocks in a Jap Zed will the speedo be automatically correct? i.e do Jap and UK cars use the same pulse and therefore is it the clocks themselves that convert that pulse to kph or mph? If the answer is no, has anyone got any Jap clocks they want to sell?? Cheers Rich

****
Sorry to hear about that mate, least you're ok!! I know Duffer offered you one, but got a stock bumper and fogs/indicator sat at PPS, sure we could sort something out. I think they're in good nick, but are currently silver. On another note, I do roughly 350 motorway miles (not loads I know) each week, and in my experience sudden motorway breaking is most often caused by motorists seeing (or thinking thinking they have seen) a "safety" camera van or traffic car on a bridge. I don't know what this national obsession is with parking on bloody motorway bridges, but it really p1sses me off!!! It'd be interesting to know the number of people put in Pete's position by some tw4t deciding to eat his sandwiches on the local motorway bridge. It should be an offence - and scamera vans should be stopped from doing the same. I know all the arguments about keeping your distance etc., but it is impossible to maintain a safe distance 100% of the time given the level of lane discipline adhered to in this country. You leave a gap, someone will fill it, and you end up constantly backing off. Sorry for the hijack - rant over ... for now!

Leathering my interior
I've seen Angus from Kish (auto trimmers in Sunderland) put those things on with a pneumatic tool. He does about 1 every 2 seconds. Try doing without the right tools, though, and I reckon you'll be there all day.

Think I may have seen that silver convertable outside Billabong on Osborne Road in Jesmond on Sunday. Reg was B1 B** I think. Looked like a nice example.

Decisions...Decisions!!!
So you are leaving you know who then mate???? Tricky one, but for what its worth, if the zed is relevant to your business, it is prob worth hanging on to (even if you refrain from using/modding it until your cash flow stabilises). I think the opportunity to advertise your goods on a car carries a lot of weight. Obviously if your business is selling groceries or something you may want to ignore this advice LOL. Good on you though fella. A big decision, and although it may be difficult in the early stages, get as much advice as you can from the guys here and I'm sure it will help!! Good luck!!! Rich

fitting indiglow gauges
ttop, do you only want the 12v supply active when lights are on?? The two screws tabs (centre bottom) that hold the plastic cowling onto the front provide power to the small dash illumnation lamps within that cowling. Crimp a spade connector onto a wire, attach to the screws and you should have power. I've not tested it yet as my car is away, but I believe that it will work. If it doesn't, please let me know!!! Ta Rich

Zed @ KISH
Ha ha. I actually quite like that look to be honest!!! The spacers have been ordered, and should arrive early next week. It does look a bit odd without them !!! Have you got one? I saw a white one round there a couple of times around Feb time. Was parked at an MOT place half way between KISH and PPS.

New Viper front bumper help!
Probs not, as am also fitting ArundaleP's HID conversion. What I may have to do is add a similar solution as the indicator for the side lights. Never use them to be honest, so its just to satisfy MOT requirements! Any thoughts?
