HELP - Kahn Wheels
oh dear ... just found out why it was low - pumped it up and could hear hissing . Turned the wheel and a big natty hole in it. Whatever was there has now gone, but left a nice big wound. Brand new tyres (19") as well - not cheap :nono: !!! Reckon I'll be able to get it repaired though as righ in middle of wheel. Random one - I've got a brand new foot pump from halfords (double barrel jobbie) with analogue pressure gauge. I've also got Halfords top of range digital guage (12 months old but used only twice!). When footpump guage reads 38psi, digi guage reads about 30 . Which would you trust????  Rich

HELP - Kahn Wheels
Cheers guys. Fas - cheers mate! Will ring Pete in the morning. Its possible he still has the one that was delivered with my wheels. I have emailed Kahn so hopefully they'll send me out a replacement - just I need the car for work or it will be costing me 25 quid a day in taxis - which is less than ideal!! Cheers Rich

HELP - Kahn Wheels
Got a flat tyre - went to blow it up and there is some fancy inverted screw valve. Anyone know where I can get hold of an adapter to fit?? Been on the Kahn website and even their forum and there is nothing. Doesn't seem like the most user-friendly idea I ever heard tbh!! :hyper: Cheers Rich

Hicas + Power Steering + Response
do a search on "hicas power steering" mate, I think the first two are related. Either a dodgy speed convertor or dodgy connection from the speedo. Alternatively it could be the steering angle sensor (behind steering wheel) is knackered or disconnected. The hicas needs speed and steering angle inputs to work. If it doesn't get them it cuts out for safety - this also affects the power steering.

HICAS warning
I've the same problem, and have picked up the following info. Hope it helps. The speed sensor (on the gear box I believe) is wired up to the back of clocks. The speedo converts the signal so a) it can display the correct speed and b) so it can feed the converted signal to engine management and anywhere else that needs it including HICAS system. HICAS as explained above does some clever rear wheel steering under certain conditions (i.e. where you turn more than a certain angle at more than a certain speed). In order to do this, it needs to know 2 things - what angle you are turning and a what speed you are doing ;) . If the system detects that either of these inputs may bne corrupt in some way (i.e. steering angle permanently 270 degrees or no speed input), it switches the system off as a safety precaution. Unfortunately you also lose the power steering as it is part of same system. To fix it, ideally get someone to hook up a Conzult system as this will show you what speed and steering angle the HICAS system is getting. You should then see straight away where the problem is. Your needle dropping to zero, however, would tend to indicate that something is wrong with your clocks, probably on the sensor to clocks link. It could be a faulty aftermarket kph-mph speed convertor if there is one fitted or a dodgy connection somewhere between the sensor and the clocks or the clocks and the HICAS unit. I haven't had a chance to fully get to the bottom of mine yet, but I did disconnect the speed convertor. It then worked fine (although displayed the wrong speed!) until the other day when I had the clocks out again for a different reason. It now works intermittently (i.e. sometimes needle stays at zero and hicas problem returns). I suspect that it is a dodgy connection where the speed convertor had been spliced into the connection to the clocks (they have used crimp connectors and I suspect they are the problem). Knocks and vibrations could be causing a poor connection to make and break intermittently. It could be more serious though as these are replacement second-hand clocks and there could be an internal problem. I'd never have guessed that the speedo was such a fundamental part of the car's operation! Hope it helps Rich

Creaking Noise!!!
lol fingers crossed Mike!! Paul - I had the adjustables fitted not long ago, but I wonder if something in that area has come loose!? Before the noise got a creaking, it sounded like a knocking particularly noticeable as the car rocked to a stop under breaking - thought that my brakes were loose or someting! I'll get someone to check it out - after I've checked for loose things rubbing the bonnet lol.

Scuttle Panel Fittings
Does anyone know whether I can get hold of the fittings for the scuttle panel on the zed? They are the small ones that go between the fins on the vent/drain on the panel and are like the automotive equivalent to rawl plugs - i.e. small plastic plugs with a screw that goes down the middle and locks it into place)? They are probably a standard Nissan part, but wouldn't know what to ask for!!! Cheers Rich

Creaking Noise!!!
The car has started making a creaking noise when breaking or turning - especially when doing both (breaking AND turning) Thing is, the car runs straight, breaks straight and feels like it is cornering/handling correctly other than that. However, it also rattles like hell when going over bumps (of which there are many round here!!!) as if there is something loose underneath - sounds like the noise a train makes when trundling over joins in the track  . When it was in for the clutch replacement, the garage noticed and fixed a split heatshield, but that hasn't cured the noise. The car is running on 19s and has eibach springs/koni shockers, so I am not expecting the smoothest ride, but it feels like I am driving an old banger at the moment!! Is anyone else running that configuration and could they poss. comment as to whether there ride sounds as rough as mine?? Anyone got any suggestions/ideas?? Cheers Rich
