  1. YOutube comments always make me laugh: "haha what a dik like at least why not back the car into the other car so then you can keep going for longer. :) >>>cause she is a woman and has no LOGIC" Like she is thinking logical anyway :D
  2. Thanks guys ... I think I might try Carisma.
  3. Jonce how well has the chrome finish lasted on yours? Mine has faded and pitted a bit so going to get it done again ... might use the people you mentioned above if you think that it was a good job and has lasted ok? Cheers Rich
  4. hi vijay mate, thanks for the reply. I guess that might be the way I have to go then. Anyone know if the originals can actually be replaced? Cheers Rich
  5. Helllllppp .... anyone know if you can replace the 2 threaded bolts sticking out from each front wing (right next to the headlamp) that secure the front bumper? One of mine has snapped and I reckon the others might go the same way. On the inside of the wing the "head" of the bolt is just a round black smooth disc, but without prising it out I cant see how it fixes in place. Can you get replacements from Nissan or am I going to have to try and find a way to fix a new bolt in there and maybe weld it in place??? Cheers Rich
  6. wouldnt work on a rear wheel drive tho would it  :D
  7. ha ha - if it works it works mate. thanks again
  8. Thanks mate. Interesting though because the cooler and pipework is clearly aftermarket - but the nozzles I referred to I think are original (could be wrong about that). Since the nozzles are only 8mm internal diameter would it not suggest that that is the preferred internal diameter of the pipe? That said the apperture on the rad itself is about 22mm I think. Ideally I guess if I can get 16mm internal diameter hose ... with the appropriate fiting for the rad at one end and a hose end for the other end that is designed to push onto a 10mm nozzle that would be grand. Not sure if such fittings are availale though! Rich
  9. Guys Just a quick question. Oil cooler hoses in my Jap TT Manual are knackered. It appears that the existing pipes have been somewhat overengineered as they consist of: --10mm Outside diameter nozzle fitted to car - (8mm inside diameter) -- anodised push on grub screw connector -- 10cm length of 10mm inside diameter braided hose -- anodised adaptor converting 10mm inside diameter hose to 16mm inside diameter hose -- 50cm length of 16mm inside diameter braided hose -- anodised elbow hose end to fit to rad A local auto pipe company are going to quote me for some new hose and hose ends. However my question is what internal diameter hose should I go for. I mean if the 2 nozzles that these hoses connect to have an inside diameter of 8mm, then surely using a pipe with a greater diameter to this is a waste of time as will just result in a pressure drop? In which case should I just use 10mm inside diameter hose for the whole length, as this will fit nicely onto the nozzles, and simplify the whole thing? Rich
  10. Ahaaaaa if someone could share it that would be great ... see not an original idea in me:D Rich
  11. Guys just a thought. I am trying to solve an intermittent problem with my speedo. And figured it would be useful reference material if I could raise thge back wheels off the ground and bench test the speedo. The car is currently on a SORN while I sort out the work and I dont really want to be fiddling with wires out on the road!! However in order to do this I need to know what speed should be registered at various revs in each gear. So what I was going to suggest when you guys are out and about if you can note the following info for various revs and I will collate and post up for future reference: - NA/TT - JSpec/UK - Manual/Auto - Year - Gear - Revs - Indicated Speed - Sat Nav Indicated Speed where available The more we have the more likely we can account for minor inaccuracies in a single person's speedo/data and get decent averages. I think it would be very useful, any thoughts?? Rich p.s. if this already exists then let me know (and where I can find it) and I'll be quiet :D
  12. ha ha ha. Nice one my son :).
  13. Right here is the second thread in a day (not bad for me). Can anyone recommend a paintshop in Newcastle? Car has a few minor scratches and stonechips I'd like to get touched in before I sell. What are my chances of getting the magician himself (Peter from PPS) out of hibernation for one last gig  :). Cheers Rich
  14. Hi mate!! Thanks for the info!! Has he done any chroming of plastic items for you?? Rich
  15. p.s. I know a good counsellor if you really are struggling :)
  16. ha ha. Couple of hundred thousand cos thats aboutwhat I spent on her :D Not sure was thinking around the £6500 mark once these few bits are sorted. I know prices have plummeted but she is a beauty (obviously I think that) with the widearch, 20" Kahn wheels, full custom leather work, redesigned switchgear and of course the superb choice in colour lol. I'll post some pictures once its sorted - been a while since she appeared on here! Rich
  17. Oh and I am good mark thanks!! How are things with you???
  18. Hey matey. Yeh I planned to ... then never got round to it :). But I am not using her so its time for someone else to get the benefit!! Just a few things need sorted and I figured I would do the lights while I was at it. I am just wondering whether the plastic chroming is the way to go since it only lasted a couple of years.... wondered whether paint may be better. Rich
  19. Hey guys looking for some advice... I had my light inserts chromed via a member on here a couple of years ago and they looked mint but have now faded with a few spots appearing through the chrome. I want to get them done again and wonder who's offering the sevice these days? - Danny (DTA) always seems to offer quality but its just a bit pricey for me as I am really doing up the car to sell. - I hear a few people have sprayed them chrome - I read a thread about this from a while back - but am wondering whether the effect has lasted or whether they have faded? - is anyone offering the chroming service these days? Cheers Rich
  20. stunning mate. I particularly like how you managed to get the arse end of one of God's most wonderful creations in there - if that doesnt sell it for you ... Good luck!
  21. Cheers fella - very nice of you to say so. I'll post some pics and specs up soon and we'll see how it goes. I ploughed a lot of £££ into it so hopefully it should go fairly quickly. Good to see there are still a few of the regulars around :). Rich
  22. I still have the Zed mate ... but its up for sale ... just need to tidy a few things up on it first. I bought my old Cerbera back so wanting to sell the zed and get a runaround for when the Cerb isnt working  I still get on here from time to time but not as much as I used to ... have the old crew mostly gone?? ... and whats this about a Noble?? :nana2:
  23. I lost my best mate in a parachute accident 5 years ago ... and I dont complain every time i see a cartoon or film making light of a parachute not opening (i.e. redbull ad springs to mind) etc. As for the "speed kills" comment ... it WAS flippant, but so what!? If anything, the footage of the accident just showed how quickly and nasty an accident at speed can be ... and certainly made me cringe!!! Admittedly it was at 220+ which is not a speed many of us will achieve on a daily basis :). I span off Elvington in my Cerb a couple of years ago ... but I think I was only doing about 60 at the time :).
  24. If it had been after New Year would that have been allowed?? :D "Come on son .. you know the rules ... no fireworks before New Year!!"
