  1. Cheers for the advice - like I say though eBay is actually one of the more expensive prices through Google shopping search. Has anyone bought anything using Nengun Performance before? I'm struggling to work out whether I'm better off getting it from them or Temple Tuning now cause I can't work out what the import duty etc would bring the price up to. I'm considering paying the extra to keep things simple lol - whilst I don't like paying more than I have to for anything...I don't wanna be stung by import duty for trying to save £80. Also from Temple I don't have to be worrying about it for 28 days while it's being shipped. Any advice appreciated!
  2. No luck with Mad Motors - had an email from them after ordering saying they've had to cancel my order due to being out of stock and not having any dates for new stock. That leads me to look at Nengun Performance which says 4 weeks before it'll be shipped from Japan - anyone any experience with this company? Am I likely to end up with additional charges if its got to be imported? Then the other company I've looked at at is Temple Tuning which is closer to the eBay price at £509.31 delivered. Any help appreciated! This is the most expensive thing I've bought for the car so far lol.
  3. Cheers Smithy. Seems too good to be true at £155 below eBay price including delivery AFAIK. Will take the plunge tonight after work and see how it goes if nothing bad has been posted about them.
  4. Looking to buy one of these - any tips on the best/cheapest place to get one? I''m a bit dubious of trusting a name I dont know with that kind of money - there's a few on eBay for £550 or the cheapest I've found using the shopping search on google is £385? :confused1: but I've never heard of the company name - Link. Any recommendations? Also - what else will I need to buy to fit this to the car? Or does it come with a universal fitting kit? Cheers, James
  5. Same for me. Would like to be kept updated on what happens with these as I would definately like one!
  6. Yeah I've got the vice but the bench its bolted to isnt heavy enough and as soon as you clout anything in the vice the bench bounces its way round the garage lol. I'll probably chuck the other sachet of grease away - didnt seem very greasy all over the box it leaked in anyway more like glue if anything! I'll try get a garage to do them for me and I'm sure they'll have a bit of copper grease lying about to put on them! Cheers for all the help!
  7. Dont suppose you know if mapp gas would be hot enough to ease it out? I'll probably have a run round the local garages and if any of them will press the old sleeve out and press the new bushes in for less than 20 quid I'll get them to do it - otherwise may as well by a mapp gass bottle for my blowlamp and try getting it a bit hotter than I have already. Thanks for all the help!
  8. Tried a chisel and an old flat end screwdriver. Can't get a really decent hit on it though as i have nothing to hold the tension rod into. Sounds like I might be better off taking the new bushes and tension rods to a local garage and asking them to press the old sleeves out and fit the new ones for me? Any thoughts on this?
  9. I thought that might be the answer lol :censored:!! Anyone got any tips for getting it out? The other thing is one of the sachets of white grease that came with my new e.s. polybushes has leaked so now I only have one - how important is this grease? Can you buy the grease on its own from anywhere? Any help appreciated!
  10. Sorry to revive this old thread - it's taken me a while to finish off changing my tension rod bushes :) Am I supposed to press another sleeve out of these? I already got 2 smaller ones inside of this out on each tension rod but after cleaning all the crap off it looks like there's another sleeve but I can't shift it at all. Is it supposed to come out? If so any tips on how to get it out?
  11. Just been reading searching through previous threads for advice on which boost controller is best and the search linked to a thread showing a picture of RichardSmith's car with the DIN pocket I'm talking about fitted! I'll get onto MJP and see if they're available.
  12. That's where I got my inspiration from - but I was wondering if it would fit through zeds surround - I've had to trim the surround before to get things to fit properly! Thanks anyway
  13. Is there anywhere you can get a DIN pocket with flip lid to fit the zed? I want to get a boost controller (I'm thinking Apexi AVC-R Black Edition) and I dont want to mess around with the interior too much adding bits on here and there so was I thinking of fitting the boost controller into a DIN pocket but one with a flip lid so that I can pull the lid down when the car is parked. Any thoughts?
  14. That's what I was going to say until I realised it was out of stock anyway lol. Although the Yamaha has the education suite on it it's not nearly as good as having light up keys to show you what to do - having said that I had lessons when I was young so have no experience of learning by light up keys or by the Y.E.S. as they call it. HTH
  15. I've yet to come across a keyboard that doesn't have a headphone jack and I've been playing for years - did it for a living at one point. As said though Yamaha is one of the better makes to go for with regards sound quality and build quality!
  16. I've got one of these. Not sure how accurate it is with regards to the actual figures but I bought it to check differences between cylinders and it worked OK - showed a problem with the middle 2 cylinders on a citroen xsara which turned out to be a blown head gasket. Haven't tried it on anything else yet but it was a bit awkward on that citroen - having said that I remember the spark plugs were particularly difficult angle to get at. Will perhaps have a go on the zed tomorrow :)
  17. Yeah just spotted them mate. Cheers for all the help. I've got absolutely no idea - I definately wanted 89 spec before I saw the smooth spoiler - I might just go back to my original plans and forget I ever saw it lol...89 spec with the wiper left on but the electric aerial removed :D
  18. Thats great! Cheers for the help! Still can't decide though lol
  19. Just gone late night internet shopping for the Tesco direct ps3 with GT5 deal. As I work for them got 10% off and had £13.50 of clubcard vouchers just from fueling up there ended up getting it for £228.60 picked up from my local store tomorrow (Saturday). Can't wait:biggrin: - even though its not the collectors edition I'm not too bothered and I'm quite impatient and wanted it asap but didn't want to pay for express delivery lol. HDMI cables are only a few quid as well so hopefully I'm on to a winner! Just realised I earned 538 points as well givin me a £5 voucher straight away next time the vouchers come around.
  20. I agree with Shrek, Quavey, Murt and anyone else I've forgotten about that disagrees with the thread starter. At 19 years old I'm probably the youngest driver on this forum? But in the two and a bit years I have been driving I'd say I've covered around 60k miles in various cars including a zed (albeit for less than 100 miles) 200sx (even less) 4 metre vans and a corsa 2 litre. I drive for a living and a hobby giving me more experience than my sister who's been driving for 9 years. Anyone can drive beyond their limit. People that drove like idiots when they were younger will often continue to drive like idiots all the way through their life until the inevitable happens. I take pride in my driving and the cars I drive - something a lot of people dont! :)
  21. The exhaust has already got rags in ;) Unfortunately I didn't know that the car had a low enough concentration of anti-freeze in to actually freeze the coolant - I knew it was low because the water wasn't a particular colour as far as I could tell where as in my other cars its always been quite a strong colour. Thinking about it now for all I know it could have been just water. It was on my to-do list to flush the system and put the correct mixture in but it obviously should have been the top of my to-do list. Like I say lesson learnt...I won't let this happen again! :)
  22. Yeah that's exactly what I thought they're were when I first saw them to be honest but like I say after I tried to get them out and failed I thought perhaps I better leave them in and ask before I destroy them. Cheers for the help and fast reply :thumbup1:
  23. Ideal weather here to start getting some work done on the zed ;) haha so I've pressed the old tension rod bushes out using a couple of sockets and a vice but in each arm I've got two metal bushes about 1cm thick each that have remained in the arm. Are these meant to come out with the old bushes? They don't look like part of the arm cause they're in different places on each arm. Anyone got any tips for getting them out cause I couldn't budge them - but that's what made me wonder if they're meant to stay in. Thanks in advance, James
  24. Anyone with a Car.Mad smooth boot spoiler got any pictures they could upload/email to me? I'm torn between the 89 spec and the smooth look. I think whichever spoiler I have I'll be smoothing the rest of the back end i.e. removing the rear wiper and the electric ariel. Any pics showing the car from the side, and standing next to the car looking back towards the spoiler if you understand me would be ideal. I'm trying to get a mental image of how it's gonna look from every angle once its on. Any pictures of the smooth spoiler will help but if anyones got a black shorty with one on (I know I'm being picky) that would be great! Cheers, James
