  1. Hi Andrew. Great post, thanks for the updates. Glad you’ve gone for a full glass out respray, I’d thought previously you had said it was just going to be a blow over. I can’t wait to see how it comes out.
  2. Happy birthday mate. Hopefully get out sometime soon for a drive. :cool3:
  3. I like your 300 mate, you could start a nice “journal” with that work.
  4. Is this since you’ve got the 300 out from “winter storage”? You might have flat spotted the tyres if it’s been standing on the same spot all winter.
  5. Loving these, not seen them before and look so simple. They might be helpful with an issue I have with the locking wheel nuts on my Skoda.
  6. My 300 is in the air waiting for me to replace the clutch fluid. I’ve also just replace my Navara with a Skoda Superb. Very happy with the Skoda, it’s got all the power a family car needs (170bhp), lovely interior, the nicest exterior (simple but smart) and the DSG gear box is a pleasure to drive.
  7. A a bed in Broadmoor? :scared:
  8. Andrew takes flat spotting his tyres very seriously.
  9. Today I finally got around to replacing my split flexible hydraulic clutch line for a nice new braided line. It was very simple to replace and the new line fitted perfectly. Unfortunately I didn’t have time to bleed the system but hope to do this next week. Old leaking line... New Hel line, £25 from eBay... Fitted...
  10. I do like a nice 370z. Like you Gaz I’m not sold on the colour combo.
  11. I went for the Hel product, only as I’ve brought Hel products before and have always been happy with the quality the provide. One question I have, do I need to put any fixing tape or agent on the thread at the coupling?
  12. Funny you say that Jim as I thought these seats are the most comfortable seats I’ve been in. They both have lumber support and the Alcantara is so soft, the condition of them for the mileage is also very impressive.
  13. Well I didn’t go for a retro estate in the end, instead I went for a 2010 Skoda Superb. It’s a very nice car with 128k, full history, 170bhp, black leather with black Alcantara inserts (the interior is mint). It’s got a few things to sort out, front and rear discs, rear pads and rear suspension strut dust covers, front off side arch guard and the paint work need some love. All in all though I’m very happy.
  14. As above also. I’m not sure I’d have had the time to fix my clutch problem for this event anyhow.
  15. Thank you for taking the time to gather evidence and expose rouge traders. It would be very easy to not bother to do this and let others fall fowl to these people. Good luck Gary, I hope you get the results you’re looking for.
  16. Happy belated birthday Simon, hope you had a great day and another entertaining year. :happybday:
  17. It think my list would be Blackadder Bottom Only fools and horses Game on Then possibly Fawlty towers.
  18. Lol, I love first world problem. I get really pissed of that my wallet is too small for my £50 notes.
  19. Thanks Jim. I have been told about the potential failure of the master cylinder seal but not how to recognise it. And I’ll have a good look around for a braided line. So two sets popped up straight away. If anyone has feedback on either set I’d appreciate knowing it... MLR HEL

  21. So I got the car up in the air today and made a start on diagnosing the problem. I’d looked at a diagram showing the system and thought that the only two places that could fail had to be the cylinders but my initial look showed no signs of a fluid leak up high near the master cylinder. After jacking the car up I noticed some fluid around the slave cylinder and flex pipe leading to the slave but not and awful lot. I cleaned up the small amount of mess but there were no obvious leaks. I pressed the clutch in and out and reinvestigated the offending area. Again there was a small amount of fluid gathering on the flex pipe. Again I cleaned up the area and this time found a split in the hose. BINGO!!! So it looks like I need a new “hose clutch” (part 17). Has anyone know for this part to fail, do I need to think about replacing any other lines?
  22. I’m hoping to get her in the air Thursday morning and have a good look through the system. Is it worth replacing both the master cylinder and slave at the same time as the fluid is on the floor now or do they not tend to pop around the same time? Also there seems to be quite a price difference between suppliers. I assume the cheaper listed items are poor copies or is it a case of Nissan parts department trying to pull my pants down? Cheers, Chris.
  23. :blushing:
  24. Oh dear. What happened, hope you’re ok?
  25. I just found these videos, they look very useful and hopefully others may find them helpful.
