What type of V8 are you putting in? Are you changing the gearbox etc too?

King Of Europe
That old Vauxhall was on Sky recently - 10 of the best or something. Didn't win though, it had too much power!

Misfiring on boost
Just like to say a big thanks to everyone for your suggestions. I had two faults - a break in the wiring to the det sensor itself and a short circuit between ground and the det sensor input (pin23) of the ECU just to make it nice & easy! Although I was getting code 55, it was occasionally going into safety boost mode without me knowing. Fitted the 1MOhm resistor between pins 23 and 50 (ground) of the ECU and hey presto - no hesitation at all!

i`ve lost the horn
I had a similar problem once, traced it to over indulgence in alcohol :D If the relay is clicking then it does sound like a bad earth, might be worth feeding 12V direct to the horn +12V connector. The only problem I've found with this method is that one can sh1t one's self in the process!!

Few pics from the days work...
Phewk in ell! That is brave. It was a good day ferrit though, spent 5 hours on mine and for the first time in 3 years it's running as it should. Whilst I was having fun though the Hicas light came on just to dampen the excitement! :( Topped up the power steering reservoir and it got me home alright at least :duffer:

Pimp my Bride!
LOL . I wonder if Xibit topped up her reservoir.

Fuel pressure problem?
Having ruled out any ignition problems I'm still having misfire on one cylinder at 10 PSI or more. Seems like it could be a dodgy injector but then again if the fuel pressure was too low, couldn't the last cylinder to be fed suffer as a result? Just wondering which road to go down next! Cheers Dave

DVLA trying to shaft us more than they already have with SORN.
If anyone here has an old paper driving licence then FFS keep it. The new photocard licence is now suddenly only valid for 10 years, after that YOU have to cough up again for a new one at a NEW price. I wonder how much that will be in 10 years. Time to leave the country methinks. Shite weather eating our cars, shite government taking our already shite wages to give to some chav & his bird up the duff, shite working conditions, shite Head of Police. Hey, I'm on a roll!!

prop vibration
CSB - Centre Support Bearing. Usually you also get a clunking noise on taking up drive when they're damaged too.

New Battery
My Mini had one in the boot  But metal objects used to often short it out and glow red :D :D

prop vibration
I changed my complete prop (& CSB) during an auto to manual conversion, I also changed the gearbox mounting but it didn't solve my prop vibration. It quietens down after it warms up so I'm wondering if the hookes joint might be too tight when cold as I can't see that it could be out of balance because I replaced the whole unit as one. Have you checked the CSB for the usual cracks?

DVLA trying to shaft us more than they already have with SORN.
Just spotted this regarding the new V5C form which is replacing the current V5. http://www.realclassic.co.uk/opinionfiles/opinion04021600.html I'm pissed right off with all this. I think we need a national protest for this more than we do for speed cameras. It just goes to show that if they can get away with introducing a small piece of legislation i.e. SORN, then they think they can take over our basic human rights. FFS if I owned a car since 1973 and had it in my garage ever since, what the fook is it to do with them, it's MY car and it's NOT on their land.

Red Z A55 Holyhead
I was wishing I was in mine at the time but I was in the boring Ford! There was no point in my beeping my horn as you would have thought "Who's that plonker!". Did you go over to Ireland? Hi Dewi, how are you doing with those seals? Dave.

Wireless networks
Wepcracking! I never thought I'd see this when I set up the WLAN in the local hospital 5 years ago!! It was "safe as houses" back then!

BRUNSTROM U-turn on speed cameras!!
I suppose they could use high powered RFID technology which can power a small remote circuit without wires. One cat's eye could house the laser transmitter/receiver (or they could measure the speed with two inductive loops further down the road) and the other could house the camera but I really doubt it's likely because there would be no way of keeping the lens clean especially when my wheels are leaving a nice layer of rubber on the fookers!

Stock red UK car
Hi. Is this any good?

It's all over
Sorry to hear about this. That would probably catch any one of us out - if someone suddenly slams on and there's no cars in front of them then you're completely off guard. Bloody pheasants, should have got out and plucked the b***ards. Don't read this too fast  Hope everything works out OK for you. Dave

Turbo in RX7 tonight
Hi. Went over to Kroozing.com meeting in Llandudno tonight to see what would turn up. Someone from up north showed up in a heavily modded black J-Reg RX7. He carried out some amazingly accurate manouvres tbh. Here's a shot of his engine bay, note no AFM. Anyone know him or what sort of turbo this is? :D
