Engine rebuild
I'd check the oil pump for excessive wear, get the block & heads cleaned in an ultrasonic bath because the oilways can become clogged up. I stripped mine down after the previous owner told me that one of the headgaskets had gone. I found that one of the big-end journals was also badly worn, even the con-rod was oval but the rest were A1. If it's ever detted, there will almost certainly be piston and bore damage too. These are what I would call the fundamentals as most other items can be repaired afterwards but not necessarily with ease!

Do-gooders strike again
Looks like the "Do-gooders" are about to shaft Britain once and for all. :xxx: The government were recently blaming bad parenting for the ASBO society we have today. I agree, a lot of it is to do with bad parenting but if I thought I wasn't gonna get slapped for doing wrong by MY OWN PARENTS then, as a kid, I would have run riot FFS. Looks like we'll have to resort to saying "Dear Johnny, please don't set fire to our house - there's a good boy". They are a contradiction in terms. http://www.ivillage.co.uk/parenting/community/pracad/articles/0,,598834_608367,00.html

Lotus Carlton
The barmaid in my former local (Shaws arms, Preston) got killed by a Lotus Carlton back in 1993. The pr1ck was racing a Golf GTI FFS, it took them over 2 years to convict the tw@t. The car was rebuilt but soon after the garage it was kept in set on fire and the car is no more. Probably best really.

If you want a car upgrade, book it before you fly so you don't end up paying an extra $500 like we did

Women driver and a 300Z.....
I thought twice about letting the bird drive my F reg Cavalier a couple of years ago because it was a bit longer than her Fiesta, needless to say she backed it into a wall. Driving the Z is a "no-no" and she knows it :D

Florida - who's been?????
If you get the chance, I would recommend a visit to Kennedy Space Center. The 2nd pic is of the Saturn 5 rocket which put man on the moon, I took the 5th picture back in 1999, it's part of the International Space Station (ISS) undergoing tests, the picture on the right is one taken of the same module during the last shuttle mission. You need a full day to do this tour but it's very interesting.

Z tech aggressor chip
I've got a JWT chip which I altered slightly then burnt a custom EPROM. Still happy with it as it has the extended fuel map which is all you really need if running up to 14.5 psi with stock injectors of course.

Britain will be first country to monitor every car journey
ANPR has been in use for some years now and shows no signs of being a "White Elephant". ANPR is in use daily, tracking untaxed vehicles etc. It is likely to prove inaccurate as far as criminals are concerned because many of them swap plates or use stolen cars which is why I have concluded that it is an extension of the mobile and static ANPR system in use today. Electronically it's simple, the CCTV cameras already exist, all that's required is a networked computer to scan the video signals at each site, OCR the plate and transmit it's time/location to a central database, not rocket science IMO.
