Prince Charles & Camilla
For some reason, the Americans I've met have a deep hatred for Camilla. I think they see her as trying to step into Diana's shoes and as we all know, Diana was more popular over there.

Prince Charles & Camilla
Charles and Camilla are both here where I work right now. FFS they've been cleaning this place and painting up all week and we haven't been able to park up for two days. I rode 5 miles into work today on the bike and saw loads of other people walking into work. His "Green" strategy is obviously working!

Average income of a 300zx owner?
I earned more when I was 24 than I do now, but I hated that job with a vengeance. I like the job I do now, and although the pay sucks, I can piss off at 5PM, get good holidays and spend time with the zed, vette and kids  .

Silly things you believed when you were a kid?
My best mate's Dad tragically died the same year as mine when they were working together on a building site. Sadly a ground excavation collapsed in on him. My Dad and his workmates couldn't get to him in time  . When I got back to school, his son told me, and the whole class, that his Dad had been eaten by sharks and we all believed him. Years later my Mother told me the truth!

dark oil after only 30 miles???
Hmmm, those flushing agents were once nicknamed "Instant rod-knock" a few years ago on here :nono: . Would rather run some budget oil through and drive Miss Daisy round for a while if I had to.

You lucky bugger! I used to watch the Grave Digger compete on Sky back in the early 90's. Is it still over here on display somewhere?

PC Tech Question - Hard drives
Nice one! For other users:- Unless you have a router for your ISP connection, DON'T INSTALL VISTA. Most DSL modems will NOT work AT ALL under Vista. If you're using a router which is wireless or has RJ-45 LAN port/s, provided that your PC has a LAN/WLAN card, then you'll be fine. The prompts are very annoying and there are some compatibilty issues, but I haven't had any complete show-stoppers yet lol!

looking for a digital camcorder??
Those hard disks are expensive to replace, unless you can rip one out of an old iPod! Have you considered a solid-state one? We had a Sanyo one in work to try out. The quality was as good as an HDD camera, it was pocket-sized and supported hi-def too. The Hi-Def quality was OK, but we needed to render it using Final Cut Pro before we could watch it. After rendering, it was fantastic. It's also a 7.1 MP still camera and they're on e-bay all the time for around £225-£280:- http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SANYO-Xacti-VPC-DMX-HD2-7-1MP-NEW-6GIFTS-IN-STOCK_W0QQitemZ130116353993QQihZ003QQcategoryZ31388QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Martyn from Zen Garage
 Is that your car now. Wow! what a difference. Well done Fas. I'd rather wait longer and have a good job done. It's bad enough trying to keep my own Zed on the road let alone look after others'

Martyn from Zen Garage
Just thinking it might be worth taking time off work and assisting him with your rebuild. I once did this with a 280ZX which was taking a very long time to finish. The owner reduced the final price significantly and really pulled out the stops to get the work done more quickly. I think it helps if you make a few appearances if nothing else. Just a thought and I hope you get it back soon ;) .

new car?
Holy cow. They were £15K when I was looking. Can't remember now but I think that was around early 2004. £6K is more like it. I wonder if they respond well to NOS like in Ronin  .

new car?
I was so close to buying one a couple of years back, but thought it was the wrong time of its depreciation cycle to buy. Then thought about its fuel economy. Remember it's a 4.2 in a heavy car. Glad I didn't now cos I ended up with a nice classic instead. How much are they going for now? http://carfolio.com/specifications/models/car/?car=30756&Audi

Hose blown off this morning
Well so much for the engine running cooler with the new oil cooler fitted :D My car dumped it's water after a 4 mile drive this morning, fortunately just after pulling up in work's car park! I've had a look round and can't see any damaged hoses  Most of the water is around the battery area, there was a pop as the hose went and lots of steam. The engine temp was marginally higher than normal and it still ran fine on all 6. Any ideas/shared experiences with the cooling system's weak points would be much appreciated as I need to get this baby home tonight.

Advice on soldering irons...
Weller ones are very good too. I have an adjustable one in and a fixed mains one in work. I prefer the mains one which is the cheaper option! You'll need around 25 Watts for automotive applications. As the other guys say, Antex ones are good too and it's easy to swap the tips!
