Hi bud i'm in Llantwit Fardre near Church Village....Have you tried Hyeline down at the end of Penarth road? http://www.hyeline.com/ Alternatly depending on how desperate i'll be going to Ztech in Swindon this or next week and if they have one and you pay them will pick it up for you....They swapped my nearside last week as the pistons were siezed on that side so might have the offside off the same breaker??!!
  2. I might be able to! Its a Jap car (With Jap rear bumper and plate slot) and he's had a standard UK plate made up by mistake and can't be ar5ed to go through the rigmarole of giving everything bar your underpant size to the plate makers to get a new square plate made up???!!!
  3. Hellraiser, I have the exact same experience as you and coincidentally was so fed up tonight i thought i'd post up the query and you'd done it for me! I'm keeping my rev's below 3k always at the mo while running in my engine so is more effecting when pulling off at junctions!! I think I'll be taking Stevies advice and disconnecting the air-con pump wiring till spring so i can de-mist without the aircon kicking in!

Darren Glad you've seen the error of your ways and bought another Z!! Where abouts in Carmarthenshire are you? I'm near Llantrisant, but my folks are back west and my sis lives in Carmarthen (Editor of the 'Carmarthen journal'). I go back every few weeks so we could have a mini meet?!!
  5. He's happy to meet on the motorway...perhaps you could enquire as to these parts as well and lean on him lightly with a few fellow members?!!
  6. I wouldn't mind his traction control system!!
  7. Not stainless and S/H, so i think that £100 starting bid is a bit steap considering the price of a full stainless system these days. I'm also not a fan of single exit back boxes and am a bit of a 'twin' freak, so am probably slightly biased in my perception of what they'd be worth....I stand to be corrected though?!
  8. Just found this whilst reviewing another thread! HICAS Eliminator for 90-96 300ZX.... Found under 'products' section at... http://www.escort-us.com/frames.html Needed if HICAS system is disabled or removed. 304 Stainless Steel , TIG welded, and weighs 2 lbs. Banjo fitting also available if needed, sold separately. Skyline, Sylvia, 240SX version also available.
  9. I take it your refering to daves 'Batwing Alfa Romeo' sig pic the duffer?!!! :x: I deleted my pic when Glen had a pop at me! when what i should have done is told him to set his PC profile up properly!! :D  :p
  10. Complete engine rebuild and rebuild one tub. I've also had to have a new exhaust as half the oil went down it when the tub went! Just awaiting 2 new wheel bearings to get it through the MOT on Fri and i should have her back! been a while!
  11. Trim is nice but not sure about the 'wood' effect :hurl: I'd replace this
  12. Did my Tandem jump out in the middle east (over Sharjah next emirate north of Dubai) Best adrenalin rush ever! Co-incidentally i was mailed this today! Quite apt! http://www.slackernetwork.com/out.php?id=3802
  13. Probably shoot me down in flames but you havn't got caps lock on have you?!!
  14. I think the term is "Jackass"!! Stevo from the stated clan has alot to answer for, but not sure he used a "black cat thunderbolt" when he performed his particular stunt!
  15. Deleted it and now can't find the smaller sized ones i had saved! I'll upload some more when i get 5. Do you work at Nissan Newpost Glen? if you do I Think i might have spoken to you a couple of years back when i worked in Magor and popped in for parts?!!
  16. Hopefully have my baby back from Z-tech this weekend so thought i'd post up here in the Welsh corner as it's gone a bit quiet of late! So much so that i'm considering becoming a bristolian to get in on the action in the South West!! Anyone about?
  17. Someone on here suggested flushing with Central heating 'Fernox' which reduces the build up of corrosion a while back. Not sure if it's safe enough, but this or rad flush for one decent journey after flushing with a hose would also be an idea before adding your antifreeze to the final coolant mix!
  18. This new report will simply be used as an excuse to further stealth tax the motorist! As well as my Z I also run a well known German make diesel which would run very well on vegetable oil! (I pay road Tax on both whichever i drive!) However, despite this renewable energy being a proven environmentally favourable fuel and reduced carbon output as production causes none, and it also being a hugely viable renewable energy with our own UK Farmers able to grow enough to supply us, it is taxed to the same rate as UK diesel, thus discouraging its use – Why?...Because it would reduce tax income for the government! Since driving from the age of 17 only 6 billion of the 18 billion in road tax revenue has been spent on the roads. Had any of the growing 12 billion per year road tax revenue been injected into positive public transport in the last 14 years of my driving history, then I would use the bus and train more. yet 14 years later, it is still more economical for me to drive to and from London AND pay congestion charges rather than use the train at short notice? I had to go with the Mrs to London for 3 days last week from Cardiff at short notice. How can it be cheaper for me to drive there and back, pay £34 parking, Pay £8 congestion charge to leave, a further £4.90 to come back across the bridge and it was still cheaper than going on the train at short notice?!! Until Tax revenue is spent wisely we're all in the Shit! Only when simple economics overrides cost, the working UK public cannot justify and fully utilise public transport, use teh car less and cut emissions! Attempting this via taxation is not only impractical, its farcical ....Under present policy the car will always be king and will thus be stealth taxed while we cannot economically do without it. Such taxation policy will therefore never cut emissions! Taxing large cars and so called Chelsea tractors more is another poor example, do we not already pay more through taxation on increased fuel usage?!! Since I was 17 car use has grown steadily and investment in public transport and the roads themselves has fallen. Safe in the knowledge that we are all aware that 'Road tax' is a stealth tax, we might ask where has all the money gone? In 1991, I the the UK road tax revenue was around 18 billion, with only 6 billion spent back on the roads (my estimate?). According to the latest figures, there were more than 29million cars on the UK's roads at the end of 2003* and now the UK roads have almost 33 million vehicles in 2006*. If there are 32,897,000 vehicles registered for use on UK roads including cars, vans, taxis, buses and trucks*, and for arguments sake the average cost is £100, and we can assume this is a hugely conservative average as i know that some trucks must pay £1k plus!..that’s over 32billion in revenue in 2006! If only 10% were re-invested in public transport we’d be making some headway. When I was a kid living with my folks live in West Wales the nearest main town was 16 miles away. There used to be one private bus which was subsidised by the local authority, running once a week to the nearest large town! That finished a long time ago and old folks are usually driven nowadays for shopping and Saturday outings! Make it known that road tax is a stealth tax. I know that we have to pay taxes but when money is merely wasted, i get upset. Finally, shouldn’t there be some kind of local voting on which roads should be prioritized for our tax spending? Now that would be something! It is our money after all! Either that or give local councils improved funding for actually saving money rather than claiming they need more when are our £millions in road tax funds are spent relaying perfectly good roads or adding speed bumps to use up the rest of the councils government funding. When are our funds ever going to be spent on tarmac where it’s needed?!! I also learned from a civil servant yesterday that failed Asylum seekers who are returned by plane to their native countries, must have 2 seating rows in-front and two seating rows behind clear, paid for by the government for security reasons? More 'road tax' accounted for! Lobby your MP! I think I definitely will be after today’s announcement! Or applying for residency in Aus! Rant over! :smash: :smash: :duffer: *http://www.whatcar.com/news-article.aspx?NA=219239 An interesting website and suggested use of the rail network space!; http://www.transwatch.co.uk/transport-fact-sheet-13.htm
  19. I Realise that its best to solve a problem at root cause as youve identified, but i've used a can of the above on all my alternator belts on previous motors and found it handy during winter months!! Even with the trays in place i'd give the belts a squirt while running as the winter draws near, as the belts wear naturally when tightened anyway and a bit of extra stick is always welcome! Most decent factors should stock this.

I hav'nt laughed like that in a while!
  21. If you replace the stat then be sure to replace the two short pipes/tubes connecting the top pipe to the head as well (not immediately visible!) These are a common place for water leaks and caused me water leak headaches beyond belief when i bought my car! I'd had a Z32 trained nissan mechanic replace the water pump to solve my leak and i ended up re-doing the stat and these pipes myself which were causing the hidden leak after joing the forum!
  22. Is it me or does Bantambunny look remarkably like Boyd Clack in that pic?"!!!! (Writer of hit BBC sitcoms 'Satellite City' and 'High Hopes'. Also starred in both (as Gwyn in Satellite City and Seargeant Ball in 'High Hopes'....Not sure if these are aired over the border but V.funny comedies! Remarkably distinction when you see him without a beard!
  23. Get a pressure test....any decent garage should have a test kit! However, sounds like you might also have a worn rad neck so your system isn't sealing properly to pressurise......when i first bought my Z the cap i had sat awkward on the rad neck. I know that the risers/runner/guides were worn and so i never used to do the cap right up but tighten to the highest point on the guides.
  24. Clive, your 45mins is up but........breakdown doesn't look too bad...can you supply second hand parts and leave it with them till you supply them?? Most big garages will be unable to to warranty the work replacing s/h parts, which is why they're probably quoting for replacement of all the parts?.....only one might be knackered?.....worth a shot asking them?
  25. I did this in the Z!!....Had it 2 months and decided on a full valet one Sunday afternoon ensuring i cleaned all the door and Targa seals :x: On the way to work Monday morning and i get up to about 80 on the dual carraigeway and i can hear wind noise..... Thinking it must be the window seal i dropped the passenger window slightly to re-seal it :x: .........Passenger Targa starts flapping, and as i hit the brakes and attempt to reach across and grab it, it gets sucked out like a shotgun going off!! ......up in the air, bounced on the opposite carraigeway and vapourised.... :headvswal managed to retrive the metal after a long walk back and am still amazed to this day how it went accross the carraigeway, rather than following traffic, and that nothing was travelling in the opposite direction to clout it either otherwise it would have been nasty as well as costly :x: I still check the Targa latches before pulling off to this day!!
