Smooth Skin Tailgate spoiler..??
Did to me close up, Thats why i need some comparisons from those who've had this skin fitted...Do you have one Jay??? It can physically only go so far back though as the 'rebate'' on the underside of the skin butts up to the spoiler (see skin pic)....I was wondering from the skin pic whether they should have trimmed, what i term the rebate?? But this is where the screws go into from the tailgate itself, so still not sure??..

Hard wiring a Snooper
I wanted to do this off the interior light loom as the lead then won't hang down as much?? Do you just snip the connector off the end of your snooper lead and put one to ground and one to the live feed?

Smooth Skin Tailgate spoiler..??
Cheers guys. They're obviously there to stop crap being sucked in with the vacuum so assumed that they would have removed them so they can be re-fitted - Doh! I also liked the way they closed the gap! I spoke to luke at Zcenter when i got back today. He left a slight gap between skin and spoiler when bonding his so he could re-insert his trims, but guess that this again is only something that comes with experience :smash: More gutted really that they've filled in over them as they were a good set compared to the ones hanging on by the skins of their teeth to my stock spoiler! (I only assume they've done this after telling me there were only two trims on the sides of the tailgate) Ta anyway and thanks for the pics Manta...I'm gunmetal too and i love your rear on the 600ZX!! (Back end of your car that is :nono: !) Dj.

Help Would Be Appreciated!
PS.. Safety boost means it won't go above 7psi on the gauge no matter how hard you floor it, but should still sit at centre of the gauge on idle (I stand to be corrected?) Not sure but think that the ECU may kick this in to protect your turbo's if you've had it too warm and will need to be re-set after checking your coolant system!

Help Would Be Appreciated!
Are you sure it's coolant?...Are you having to top up the rad with coolant? Is the Aircon unit still Fitted? (we tend to use screen demist alot this time of year which automatically uses the aircon system for dryer air to demist?) could be that it's the colder condensed water dripping on the floor...just a thought? I assume you have not had the car long from your join date???....If it is a coolant leak then i would start with the two short hoses that run from the top pipe into the heads...these are prone to spilts which only open when warm and are closed when cold. This was first the job i did when i bought my car, along with a new water pump and thermostat....sudden rise in temp could be a 'Sticky' thermostat valve? I'd change both the pipes described above and the stat as a precaution and whip the water pump off for inspection when doing these two jobs. If the pump is OK (Check bearing and corrosion) then re-fit, but might be worth the precaution of fitting a new one anyway depending on your milage and budget??? I'd then get all the undertrays off and undo and re-tighten all Hose clips. Any that don't budge, cut off and replace with new. (If you can afford the time, then take off each water pipe end and re-seal with sealant as you go!) Would also be worth flushing the system and re-filling ensuring you follow the correct top up proceedure as you might not have had enough coolant, or too much air in the system???...do a 'how to' search on this forum for re-filling and flushing the coolant(probably best to register in this case!!...It was the best £20 i ever spent for learning stuff about these cars and i still am after nearly 4 years on here! You'll also find that more people will assist you when subscribed!). Hope that's enough for now. Would have thought that most of these checks can be done 'engine in situ' and you will find as you fix one weak point it will move on to the next without a whole hearted approach! My Car is 15 years old now so leaks were expected when i bought it 4 years ago!

Smooth Skin Tailgate spoiler..??
Anyone help me ASAP with some pics from the side view?!! If you're online and have one give me a bell, I'll call you straight back!! Just been to pick my car up and the rear lip on my new skin is about 8mm overhanging the lights...i.e.does it have the lip at the rear like mantaV8's?? If yours is a plain skin, does that fit flush with the lights? Have you got any pics of yours from the side you can post on my previus thread request??! Sorry to be a PITA. Alternatly if any of you have a no. for MantaV8 that'd be handy!! my number is 07818 607568. -----------------previous post----------------------- Anyone got any 'up-close' pics of this rear end mod from the 'underside' of teh tailgate that they can post or PM me??.... I put my 2nd Tailgate into the bodyshop a couple of weeks back (who claimed to have done a few Z spoilers....got their number off a Z with a fitted Veilside kit and they opened lukes Zcentre website straight away to ask which spoiler i was after so assumed they knew a bit about the job ). Anyway....., when i went to see it today and drop the car off for fitting and blending, it looks like they have filled in over the two plastic trims on the rear underside which sit above the lights  Might be wrong and it'll look different when sprayed up, but when i asked where the trims were thet did'nt know what i was talking about till i showed them the ones on my stock spoiler! I was wondering if a lip should have been left for these to be re-fitted and close the gap between lights and new skin or is this gap usually closed up by building up the filler ?? Had a nose at that orange with the blanking skin below its spoiler that someone posted earlier but could do with some close up shots of the underside near the trims to show the garage and air my concerns before they get stuck in this week...!! Anyone whose gone smooth or put the blanking skin on got any pics? Help would be really appreciated...

IMO Turbo timers are handy to have, but if you value your car and your turbos, your better off driving without boost kicking in for the last couple of miles of a journey and warming the car down, even with a timer fitted!.......Doing this you have air passing over the oil coolers and radiator helping to cool them gradually with the car running. With a turbo timer, the car is just circulating coolant and it's dissapating knowwhere without air passing over the cooler radiator fins! So even with one, like Ivan i'd 'warm down' before switching off...Exactly like warming down a racehorse! Gentle trot down to a walk after a good run!

Anyone done PRINCE2 or ITIL certification?
Chris, as a consultant with experience in testing, B.A, and Software implementation i'm also considering going down the same route at the moment, as i can't seem to command the same rates i'm used to! (just starting to look again after a couple of months off) I'm in the same boat now with my testing experience as everyone wants ISEB before they'll even look at you! ...I think that it might be a case of biting the bullet and off-setting the cost of the course as 'training' .....Costly month ahead!!

Safe to run with no A/C Belt?
I assume from looking at the CD Manual (maintenence section) that this belt only runs the Aircon pump? Just wondering if thats all it runs as i ideally need to start it to move it onto level ground, (as my drive slopes), so i can get it on the ramps and replace the belt. Any friendly confirmation of my suspicions woold be helpful!

Agree with Vin. When you have a few quotes, and the next company ask what your best quote so far is, knock £25 off the actual quote and if they can't beat it then you know its about right. Then ring the next till you get what you're looking for as a reasonable quote!...however, always good to note, that the cheapest is not necessarily always the best come a time you may have to claim!
