When is this Guys?...I'm away for a bit from Wed and will be back on 25th. Sorry I've been really slack thr last 12 months and met nobody yet! My only excuse is that i've been grafting all over the place this year and my weekends have been sacred when working away from home!! My main excuse is that i've also been Z-less for a while as i've blown a turbo and it was garaged for 5 months till i managed to get it in to be sorted! Hoping to have it back on 25th September but suspect that the camping will be over by then?!! I'm up for any weekend away with a tent and am a dab hand at the full english on a disposable B-B-Q!! Look forward to meeting you on upcoming meets and maybe this trip depending on whether you still camp into late September! Dj.
  3. Whenever i've done any panels of my own i've removed them where possible and warmed tham in the garage under High wattage halogen lamps before spraying...prior to any Laquer iv'e then either cut/keyed the panel next day and warmed again slightly before application....Time is the key to any spray job and without an oven even more time and patience is required!!
  4. Congratulations!
  5. Was meant as a joke...Found it surfing google vids for 300 stuff! ...Nice bit of driving whoever it was!
  6. Funksi - Heard you were stateside...you hired a mustang while out there?....!! http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6614973169721479558&q=beatbox&hl=en
  7. Ta for sorting me by the way!
  8. hIJACKED AGAIN! Yes Andy that was me! Didn't know i'd paid twice till i saw the refund...Shows How keen I was to renew! Any idea where my PM's have gone. Had a PM mail regarding members packs but couldn't get there and now nothing in my box!
  9. Not quite Star wars...but you gotta love it!
  10. No. Justice All the way! One rule for us and another for them!...If he needs to get used to the car handling at high speed he should do it on track like the rest of us! He should also know how how to handle it before he took it out anyway in case he was involved in high speed pursuits?!! I did like the juges comments in the previous case aquital though...something to do with the roads being quiet at that time of the morning etc etc!!... Have you tried to use that defence on the side of the road with uncle plod or in a courtroom?...doesn't hold much weight and the last time i pointed that out in the early hours i had to..."yes sir, no sir" and accept the points! Think he'll be quoted in many a roadside discussion for some time to come!!
  11. Sorry Fella! Been waiting to get at my PM's for a while now! I don't have a stabilzer but for £20 or so is worth a punt in my opinion. Take a look at http://www.groundingkits.co.uk - He's a trader on this forum. so take a look in that section!! hope it's of help! Dj.
  12. Andy P! Sorry yo hijack this thread but any chance of soting my membership? Previous requests seem to go unread!!
  13. DONT USE SEALER!! As far as i'm aware the water ports/channels in the head are very narrow and sealer could end up blocking them or restricting flow. This will lead to eneven heating or compound any overheating if you already have a problem! Best advice would be walk or hire a car for a few days...it'll return it's cost in saved repairs! Like Kirbz suggested move it from home and get the RAC/AA to take you to the garage..upgrade your membership first if you have too cheaper than arranging your own transport on beavertail truck as i've found out ;-)
  14. Andy P. Any chance of sorting me out when you get 5?!! Renewed 9th August via PayPal, Transaction ID; 1S710052NN654272W. Please see previous mail from another thread! Thanks in advance DJ. PS. Who Administrates/moderates the site? I included my address in my first subscription last year which has since been deleted, however the cached version still appears on Google! tried to remove myself but need to add meta-tags to the page??...needs to be done by an administrator...have all the links just need to know who to chat with? :headvswal ............................................................................................ Steve Think you've PM'd me as i renewed yesterday and mailed you RE: Members packs...Only issue now is i've returned to 'registered user' status today and now can't get at any of my PM's in the subscribed members area! Renewed via PayPal yesterday, Transaction ID; 1S710052NN654272W. Not sure who administrates but any chance of sorting me out or e-mailing the PM to djmisstear@hotmail.com Thanks in advance, Dj.

I'm still off the road guys and not put her into the garage yet....but hoping to get her to Z-tech next w.end 11th, so maybe i'll make it if i get her back? I'll pop accross in the Golf if i don't have the Z just so you can put a face to the name! I'll bring the mrs so thats another 2 to add will keep looking!
  18. Funksi...What exactly are you after? the centre nut or metal disc? or both? An engineering co. might be able to make you one up (pricy for a one off though). The old man has a small workshop at home (Lathes, miller and surface grinder) he might be able to make a light steel one up, but suspect these are alloy and merely for "Show" and he might need differnt tooling and cutters for alloy/aluminium like that i suspect??..i'll ask ...is it threaded or push on? Can you whip one of and post some pics? PM me and i'll speak to him about it..
  19. If you can afford to walk away and come back at night next time...go hire a petrol driven disc cutter from a tool hire shop and drop the clamp where the car was after dark.. ;)

SupaKarts is useless...it's an indoor concrete track and is all down to weight rather than total driving ability!! :headvswal Get us down to Llandow and i'll definately be there provided its a weekend!! Driven both, and at at 17stone+ the indoor track is useless and to slidey no matter how good your abilty! Llandow has been extened since i was lsat there and is built for 250cc + Karts and UK championship rounds are often held there...A mini Pembrey!!...What about a track day down there as a group?!!
  21. Hi mate Diesels, especially old ones, need a decent battery to crank them over as diesel starts and runs on compression rather than a spark! Once started it will run without the battery which is just to run the lights and electrics rather than provide ignition to the engine. As your grandparents are in their 80's i'd also bet this car only does short runs to the shops and back (which drains the battery) and never gets a decent run to get rid of carbon build up! My advice would be to to either hook the Z up with jump leads rather than power pack and try to crank it with the z idling at 2.5k revs....if it starts then go and spend £50 on a new heavy duty battery and fit that! If it does start, also get some diesel injector cleaner in the fuel and give it a decent run along a motorway/dual carriageway and get the revs up a bit as i suspect that it never gets any 'work' and builds up carbon on the injectors and pistons which will add to the smoking! If none of the above works the timing could all be out again and i woud return it to the garage that looked at it and get them to check it...the woodruff key is supposed to keep the timing belt pully/flywheel in place and may well have come adrift again..in which case it could be that the keyway/crankshaft are worn and a new 'oversized' key or specialist repair would be required in which case i'd take it to a an engineering workshop rather than a main dealer OR independant garage ! Hope this helps. Let me know how you get on!
  22. Ross, my partner IS a solicitor (Now crown prosecutor!). Legal term i believe is 'caveat emptor' ....buyer Beware. Even if the receipt doesn't say 'sold as seen', he's pointed out the faults, and you've acknowledged them. Just because you've not moved on price as the car was getting better offers elsewhere is no recompense for the buyer...he had the option to walk away at that point! The detail/description he has from e-bay would be applicable ONLY if bought through e-bay, but even then i think it might be doubtful even in a court of law, especially when it comes to wear and tear items like cars, bikes, washing machines, lawnmowers etc etc i.e. anything that requires maintenence! again due to caveat emptor/buyer beware...Does anybody buy a car on e-bay without inspecting it? I think not! and if they do then they should reflect this in a prospective bid. Your summary of PK1's comments in your last posts could be put in a letter of reply and cc'd to your solicitor to save you any cost and ask him to open a file in-case or just contact a solicitor to represent you, and then write him a letter asking him to have all correspondence directed to your solicitor who will deal with the matter on your behalf. For the sake of £50 though it might be worth an official letter from one, if only to close the issue off in your mind! Sounds like you're trying to be too good natured and he is indeed trying to take advantage. He's probably seen a similar year car for less money down south and feeling hard done by and hence trying it on...which if you hink about it, is worth a punt, as some really good natured souls might well have just written him out a cheque! Sleep tight. Damo.
  23. You might be OK if the Camera was pointing away from the bridge? AS yampiedog alluded to 14days is actually the statutory 'Notice of Intended Prosecution'. If you have no letter within 14 days then you are home free as this must be served within 14days of commiting the offence! The other alternantive is that you're cousin from South America was driving, give them his name and address and tell them he flew home the day after the event in questiuon and see what happens....but i never suggested that one! :x:
  24. Keeps the junk mail to a minumum at the moment thats for sure....Pics will be up soon as i get 5 to take some!
  25. Gio I run Nexens on mine and have found them to be the best all round for value and in my opinion are a great mid range tyre...With the Rears your always going chew them up a bit faster as its real wheel and alot of torque is laid down through them but my fronts (as per spec) have lasted me at least 17,000 miles ...(ran her daily for the last 2 yrs up until May this year). Have a look on http://www.Blackcircles.com for prices as they sometimes have offers...I then call my local dealer and ask him to compete...Twice he's matched them near as damn it without having to wait for delivery in order to fit so i've paid an extra £2/£3 a wheel....Paid £85 fitted and balanced for each of my last set of rears...
