  1. i cant wait till the factory decide to make something similar.
  2. dont think i'd be hanging myself if i had one of those. you can buy them factory fresh these days or build them yourself. i think they're relatively cheap too (about £30k for a self build i think). but even the full on 680(720 now?)bhp V8 is only about £50k. considering it holds the world record 0-100-0, etc i think thats a bargain. if i had anywhere that money i'd be in one.

  5. i had one on my old GTE that did that. couldnt work it out but after my ex G/F pressed the buttons a few times it worked ok. mayb you've switched it off by accident and its just an awkward swine to get back on? si.

  9. :shock: have a look at that ladies and gents. the ultima GTR is possible my favourite car (along with the koenigsegg CCX/R and of course the Z). then some mad swede had the same thought i did.... what if it had 2 turbo's bolted to it? what a beast!. i love it. si.
  10. ni idea if they fit but is there not some way of getting a list of the applications for your subframe? if it was say brake pads, you could just ask at a dealers what model they were for? just a thought. si.
  11. is it just me that thinks there would be a good market for a 300zx/350Z based kit car that looked like that? just a thought that someone else will probably make millions from. lol si.
  12. no problem clive. im waiting to hear from the guy im buying the other Z from so we can arrange a date/time to pick it up then i'll know when im going to be around that way. parts costs aside, i'd always rather trust one of the Z specialists on here than a local garage. there's just too many horror storys on here from people who thought the local garage were going to be ok then ended up spending a lot more time/money/effort to rectify problems that were either missed in the first place or created by the local garage. any of the good Z places on here (Zen, Ztech, Zcentre, etc etc) will know the cars inside out and have all the hard to get tech info at hand so they'll know whats supposed to be where and what the EXACT measurements for geometry, etc will be. these cars need to be exact in my opinion as a half ar5ed mechanic or someone not skilled enough to do the job properly will more likely do you more harm than good. TBH after a bump, even if i had to wait till the end of the month and pay double, i'd still want one of the guys off here to do it so i know im not going to have a dodgy Z. have a look at my post in general discussion about having to break the red one. if it was suspension like yours it'd be booked in at jeffs in tamworth asap. si.
  13. sim: is brake fluid and handbrake light the same one on these cars? i've never really looked? cheers. si.
  14. yeah. sounds like the switch is either faulty or sticky. anyone dropped pop or a milkshake down by the handbrake? i'd just take it out, clean it up and saok it in WD40 for a bit then try it back on. if it still doesnt work swap it. if it still doesnt work..... urm..... dunno. si.

Zen or Ztech will probably be able to offer you second hand or discounted parts and even if they arent any cheaper they will most likely be better and you have the peace of mind that someone who knows Z's will have dont it. got any pics of the wheel? and do yourself a favour, dont drive it like that cuz if something gives up alltogether you're looking at the car going down the road on its backside at best and into another car/ lorry/wall/ person/etc. get it on a good trailer and try to get a transit/4x4, etc to pull it with. it would actually be illegal for you to tow it with the polo as the Z's too heavy. if you can wait till next week i'll be breaking my red one so all the parts are there (and they'll be cheap). i have to pick the other Z up from southampton anyway so we could meet up to sort them out if you like? si.
  16. not that impressed as it shouts "im the fastest thing on the road" then hasnt got the turbos to back it up but if you're too young to insure the turbo and want it to look like a streetracer i suppose its bang on. si.

TBH carl i'd rather keep them in one piece but this one i dont think is ever going to be safe to be on the road again. i love my Z's but i think of myself as being a little responsible and this thing is just not (in my opinion) safe, strong or straight enough to house nigh-on 300bhp of engine. i'd rather get the other one (thats got a dead engine and 'box anyway but its straight) and make one good one from two that have had it. trust me i wouldnt be doing it if i thought this one was repairable. its got 11 months tax/mot on it that im going to be dropping but i think its dangerous to be on the road. shame but i think when a car gets to this state it needs to be taken off the road for safety's sake. si.
  18. 190037936783 on ebay (dont know how to link it in) looks like im not re-shelling it after all but using its innards for organ donation to another one. basically i've been offered another Z at reasonable money with a dead eng/box so this one's other bits are for sale. also does anyone know what i have to watch out for when swapping the bits over? the donor is TT auto but the new car is N/A auto. how hard? how easy? :rofl: cheers in advance. si. also, can any nice mods please decide for me which forum this is meant to be in? i put it in Z related thinking it went in there but now i dont know as the bnottom is a bit technical. i dunno. cheers. si.

  20. not had it on the Z but sometimes automatic pedal adjusters make a clunk when they're worn. thinking of it i dont even know if the Z has one? clutch master cylinder got a loose bolt? otherwise dunno. si.
  21. dont know the differences but fuel smell on acceleration mayb fuel pressure regulator related? si.
  22. aint it something that happens in a pub fight pistupslap? nah its when the piston/s move slightly in the bore and "slap" it therefore making a nasty little noise. usually associated with small 2-strokes but any engine can suffer from it with wear. HTH. si.
  23. nice one. the autobox on mine seems like it may want a fluid change. any chance of letting on where the filter is and how hard it is to get to, etc? im in wolves too so mayb see you about? i got a silver one on the drive and a red one (battered) im using. si.
  24. bumper, wing and door even fitted shouldnt be too much. £2500???? 2nd hand parts? thats a bit of a salty labour charge from where im sitting. are you sure thats all it needs? if its had the A-pillar thats where the money comes in and i think thats a reasonable price then. si.
