  1. Nah, it's just that everything else in my engine is so good that it needs less restriction to get to 15psi ;) Seriously though, do you reckon everything will be OK? Everything seems to be fine - no nasty spikes, no det (can't hear anything anyway!) and dump valves working nicely. One thing that may make difference is that my jets are somewhat custom... I could only find 0.8mm's, so I bought a nice little pin drill set from Maplins (they go from 2mm all the way down to 0.3mm - about twice as thick as a hair by the looks of it!). I bored the 0.8's out to 1mm for a start, then ended up at 1.2mm
  2. Wow! That's gorgeous!!! . . . . . . . . . . :hurl::hurl::hurl::hurl::smw:
  3. Aren't 501's the push in christmas tree type bulbs? If so, then nope - they aren't 501's. They're just standard, opposite pin bayonet 21W ones - same thing as the reversing lights :) Just changed my main beam, sidelights (for LED 501's) and fogs, so thought I'd have a quick check of the kerb/turning lights while I had the indicator out!
  4. That thing is disgusting... does he want to bolt a bit more plastic on to it?
  5. Lol nice - cheers mate :) Maybe I will give it a go then. I know my paint isn't fantastic at the mo, but I suppose it'll make sure it stays nice until I can get a respray done!
  6. Not sure myself, but I thought that it was a pretty intensive process anyway? Would be happy to be told otherwise though!
  7. They must have been talking rubbish then! I thought 300 to 320 was stock at the flywheel though - do you really lose 90 to 100 through the drivetrain?! Still, I'm happy either way cos even if it was 323 at the fly before, she's gotta be pushing 400 now! :hyper:
  8. I've got an Option gauge plumbed into the balance bar. Before I fitted the jets, it was reading about 9.5psi, so allowing for it to be out a fraction as they always are, I took that to be my stock 9psi. After the two 1.2mm's went in, I get an initial spike to 15 (maybe just over) and then it evens out at or just over 14. I'm surprised too that I'm getting such a high pressure on relatively large jets - that's why I started with 1mm's. As I said previously though, 1mm's gave me 20psi and caused my det sensor to kick in (I assume - felt like when my MAF went dodgy!) so I brought it home and changed them out sharpish!
  9. Hmm - not sure if my paint would stand up to being clay barred... I reckon it's been T-cut to within an inch of it's life before I got it and the paint seems really thin. Maybe I should hold on until I can afford a respray first!
  10. Correct - first, buy the domain if it's available (probably the easiest way is through http://www.123-reg.co.uk). You will then need it hosting (123-reg can do that too, or there are loads of other hosts out there). Basically, this will give your domain a server to live on. Once you have this, you will be able to receive mail to anything@yourdomain.com, and you should also be able to forward all email from your Hotmail account to that address (or addresses) if you want. Hope this helps matey! Give me a shout if you need any more info.
  11. Hehe I know what you mean, it surprised me too! But that's the figure that came out! :D As far as I know, all I have is and Apexi cone, some form of SS exhaust and an unknown chip, performance-wise. I was expecting it to be closer to that figure at the flywheel, but they said it was showing RWHP! Maybe I have a few more bits that I'm not aware of, or maybe they were just lying to make me feel good :p
  12. At LEAST by the feel of it! Had 323bhp at the rears last time I had it on a dyno - can't wait till I can get it on again and find out what difference it's actually made!
  13. Yikes! Going from stock to 14psi was change enough - almost doubling your boost must have felt insane!!
  14. Any tips on what to prep the paint with before you wax it with this stuff Si?
  15. You know what? They are an awesome car and it's a great spec and in great condition etc... but for 5 times the price of a decent Zed? No thanks. Gimme five Zed's anyday!
  16. Installed a couple of boost jets at the weekend now that I have my RPS Max clutch and boost gauge fitted and bloody hell does it fly! I thought it was a quick car before, but now... Started off with a couple of 1mm - got 20psi! Very gently brought her back home and tried a 1mm and a 1.2mm. Still 17, with an initial spike to 18. Not good. However, running 2 x 1.2mm's now and getting a nice steady 14 with a spike for a fraction of a second to 15. Can't hear any det, running as smooth as silk!
  17. Good to hear Si - now you're talking sense! Glad to hear you're feeling better matey :)
  18. Lol! Right with you on that one Murt - what a PITA they are!
  19. To be honest mate, Dell used to be horrendous until a few years back and I wouldn't have touched them. Nowadays though, they aren't too bad at all. I use them for my business and Nissan (one of my clients) have switched over from HP's to Dell's now. Out of the ones you mentioned I'd go for HP (if that's what you meant by Compaq), but I reckon you could do a lot worse than a Dell.
  20. I'm sorry to hear this Steve - my thoughts are with you and your family
  21. It's hard to find something to say that hasn't already been said many times in this thread. My wife suffers from depression so I know what it can do to you, so don't make any decisions now. Hope you don't leave though - you're a big part of this community! You've helped me out on many occasions, along with many others. Just know that just as you're here for us, we're here for you when you need it mate :)
  22. Holy cr@p! You've nicked my car! Same colour, same wheels, even the same cover ;) No, wait... I haven't got clear side repeaters yet heheh
  23. OMFG! Is that engine about to go in the oven or something? What a way to totally wreck a beautiful car...
  24. Just as a side note, I'm shocked at how bad Falcon's tech support is! In reply to two pretty comprehensive emails and a chase email from me I got the following: have you checked the fuses ? on the car alarm ? did the alarm work before it went of the road were is the thin yellow/black wire connected to and: TRY IGN ON AND PRESS BUTTONS 1+2 TOGETHER And they were the WHOLE emails, not even a hello or goodbye - damned unprofessional if you ask me!
