I've heard of the redtop engine also :D They a battery made by Optima, they do a redtop and a yellowtop for different enviroments. I believe the redtop is for starting and the yellowtop is for car audio.

Legrath you've confused me. :D They are Ksports, will check the setting they are on tonight. As for the Tyres, yes they are currently stock wheels on a 225 tyre, i believe they are either Hankook Ventus or Pirreli P6000. I know they should be wider and they would of been if it wasn't for the misshap i had with the wider wheels and the state the tyres are in. But the traction is so bad thought tyres alone may not be enough. Jaffa the Diff is a Quaife Atb, it's not currently fitted due to gearbox companies not having the equipment or machinary to fit it as the drive shafts have to be cut and modified for it to go in, there are instructions included. Contacted someone else local who may be able to do the job.

My car now takes a lil longer to start and you can feel it needs a extra boost from the battery. In the past i've had yellow top optimas for car audio systems. Am i correct in saying that red tops are for starting? Also is that my solution? and is there a better or alternative battery worth a consideration?

I currently have a set of wheels with 255's on the rear but they need replacing but how do i find out what size the wheels are so i can see if i can fit bigger tyres??

I'm having serious traction problems, it spins in every gear and is very difficult to put your foot down in unless you have balls. I've got Racelogic tration control, on 5% an 10% the rear steps out, on the wet setting it sometimes kicks out but you can feel it holding the car back, i want to get that power i'm loosing on the road. My understanding of how the TC works is that it cuts the fuel to the engine. Suggestions please. I need to get more power on the road. So far i have thought about. Diff (i've got but to be fitted) bigger tyres (got wider wheels, but need tyres, can go to 255 for sure.) loose weight from the front Adding weight to the rear Adding a spoiler (got but needs to be fitted) Anything i've missed and will all of the above actually help as much as i would like?

Starting this morning from cold. It's not so happy being started from cold, have to keep the revs up a tad to stop it from stalling, guess it's to be expected with this level of tuning. Also turning it over i'm happy with as it requires no throttle and starts on the key, but takes a few secs to start. Thinking perhaps a red top or yellow top battery will help this. My battery is just a cheapo from a motor store and getting on a couple year old now. But it's all good in all. Now to start saving again for the next stage and can now finally enjoy the car.

Yeah all mapped and Dyno's the Garage is Advanced Motorsport and Egineering in Milten Keynes. Worth the drive. It's only running a bar of boost for now as i'm getting spark blow out and the fuel lines from the lil fuel thingy under the bonnet need upgrading and not worth pushing it until these are done. But to be honest at this current point in time any extra power is pointless as the race logic wont let me put any power down as it is. on 10% slip the rear kicks out in most gears. have to leave it on the wet setting to put my foot down but you can feel it holding the car back due to lack of traction. Moving forward, need to remove weight from the front, maybe put some more in the back. Bigger tyres and my new diff fitted. Get my spoiler fitted for downforce, any other suggestions appreciated. It's not drivable with the traction control turned off. The power curve is very strange, it's not that fast until 4k and then omg!! To improve low end i've been adviced to purchase adjustable cam gears to improve the timings. But all the power it higher up the rev counter not so much lower down. It was loads faster with 4 in the car and especially when i drove it home as the boot was full of heavy parts. As for fuel consumption, 110 odd miles i used about £25 of Vpower. at £1.11 litre. So was rather impressed seeing as the hire car used about £16 which was a 1.25 clio. But around town it used allot more as you could imagine.

Omg why didn't i take it to this garage from the begining, i've been messed about and stitched up by 3 or more garage who reckon they could get it all going and this garage gets it running a treat. Thanks Smithy for the recomendation. Very honest and straight with me.
