  1. Are there any aftermarket speedo clusters about? Isn't there a car some where with a cluster made up from aftermarket gauges?
  2. That's typical. there goes my speedo then.
  3. they only target the innocent buddy and the best bit is were paying for them to do it.
  4. haha, yeah i didn't give it too much thought pulled it off and didn't put it back in the right place, the best bit is though it's sticky so it sticks and moves very slowly. no idea why. I'll pull it off and put it back closer and then fiddle the thingy to make it right. It's the temp to the left of the speedo which isn't working at all. Really annoying especially as the engine has been rebuilt, great that i can keep a eye on things  I'm suspecious the revs is off also, i'm going to hook the datascan to see what that reckons it reving at and adjust acording to that. The question is does it not work because i pulled the needles off or down to when the engine was fitted. no telling lol.
  5. ooo.... interesting there are screws on the back of the speedo to adjust if your speedo is out? i pulled my needles off and it's reading 10mph ish above the correct speed. the oil temp don't work at all and the rev counter i need to check, think the oil temp could be down to a ecu issue.
  6. My pod is like the one on the left, the lil twisty bit at the bottom is working for the wipers so i don't think it is a connector issue. but none of the other buttons do anything. Does this work off the Ecu?
  7. Hey, My left Pod which controls the fan and cabin temprature etc. isn't working but the wiper control on it is. The pod on the right works fine. It lights up but non of the buttons respond and it doesn't display any numbers in the lil display.
  8. yeah the stripes spoil it, the interior would be nice and clean again if it wasn't for those stripes. Don't mind the GT wing but i would personally choose otherwise.
  9. Adaware and spybot are also free. Get both from http://www.downloads.com oh and also ccleaner this will clean all your temp poo out and other misc caches. Just be carful while using and ready what you tick before hitting that scan button.
  10. Shhh.... come on, i'm already on a downer. it's been a very painful past 2 years but i'm so so so.... close. I have had problem after problem. I have lost heart in my car and really hope to get it back. So hush you and give me some re-assurance :D
  11. got it in one, how did you ever tell
  12. found out the hard way what the noise was. The cam belt has now slipped off, the problem was down to a pully being loose so the belt was catching on the case (the noise) luckly it come off in the garage and they managed to get it turned off before any damaged happened. The engine shop have accepted full liability and they are paying for all costs involved putting it right which luckly is a few hours labour and a new belt. I'm hoping it's going to be ready for tomorrow and really appreciate all the effort the garage has put into gettting it ready after recieving the car from a couple of dodgy garages who basicly hacked the car to bits. No names Turbo Technics. This has been one stressful month and surprised i'm not grey from it.
  13. Shame it didn't do us all a favour and took out the camera haha.
  14. Wow i love the UK
  15. It's all so confusing, especially for me as i know bits n bobs. The adapters must be fitted as the cams are in there, the heavy duties springs are fitted as i have a dirty greasy bag full of old ones as for the VTC springs i will have to check. Fingers crossed i should still be picking it up tomorrow.
  16. Z1 motorsports do one. http://www.300zx.com
  17. hang on a second that is a 2 piece driveshaft but only half of it. Well i think. it has that bit on with the bearing on which goes.
  18. Oh right so the noise is to be expected then? That's reassuring knowing that noises are to be expected mine sounds like something is catching within the cam gear case. Orignal thought it was the cam belt catching.
  19. I was shocked at the time as the engine shop has a good name and is meant to be very good. I took their word for it as they were meant to be good and offered a warranty on the engine.
  20. I'm not too sure, they are either JWT 400+ or the JWT R4. I have new VTC springs. Adjustable cams sound like they are for fine tuning then. vtc is sounded a good thing to keep then.
  21. So do people disconnect thei Vtc with big power Zeds? Where is this Solenoid. What other advantages and disadvantages of getting rid of it?
  22. what do adjustable cam gears actually do then?
  23. I think so, i may of got the information wrong but been advised to get adjustable cam gears for my spec. there is a weird scuffing noise coming from my newly rebuilt engine and think it may be because these arnt fitted. something to do with the variable cam timing or something but i have no idea what this all means. Also to get rid of the variable valve timing.
