350Z for sale already.
Are you sure its not closer to 1.5 tonnes? Even though it has comparable power to a 300z it has less torque and that can be the difference in straight line stuff.

camber adjustment
I just maxed out the rear adjustment with these cam bolts on the inner diff side top arm- very tight btw, and its still got some negative camber. You then need to check the rear toe in as well because it changes when you do this. My 18s always wear out on the insides first.

Greetings From New Zealand
By AdamR - no longer in a Z - So a Z is not a hairdressers car then?:) Just kidding I know one who also swapped their Z for a TVR. And Hi from Scotland as well

Can they do this?
Learned by experience myself with about £100 increase per 3 points on SP50's on wide open empty roads and the sods applied it for 5 years even tho its off your license in 3. Brings it home just how much it really costs and friends think I'm paranoid with a radar detector.

Heat!!!
Would think zorsts and cats most likely culprits for heating the transmission tunnel area

Torsion bar joint
Take it those are after market poly bushes. If that is the car jacked up they are not deforming much. I would expect to see the twist on the bush end if the wheel is off the ground. The rust around the nuts on the wishbones might also be nothing but then again should the top side be examined for cracks in the light of the previous issue re this.

turbo life
136K on UK TT. My other petrol car has a single Garret turbo has well and I'm 100% sure that is original and with 111K and no signs of problems. I know some wag will say yet!! However stock boost levels 9 - 10psi. I'm sure 14psi used regularly would finish em off tho.

Cruise control
uk at 30-90 I think and watch that the cut out microswitch under the brake pedal is not set too sensitive otherwise it wont hold in

Help - hit ramp and now leaking fluid!!!
Possibly the botom rad hose - it is a saggy long rubber jobby that hangs down low on some cars just right to get nipped or torn. There is a bracket too. Maybe you broke it off. Look underneath and check this hose - you dont want to drive far if you loose all your coolant. It might tape up as a get you home with duct tape.

hunting idle
If you are stood at the front of your car looking at the engine the little black box on the rhs side of the rhs side throttle body is the TPS throttle position sensor. It is a variable resistor gizmo that translates the throttle butterfly angle into a voltage that makes sense to the ecu (engine computer) so it knows how much throttle you are giving the engine. It is also important for the auto trans ecu to help decide change points. There are 2 connectors with wires - one direct onto it and another on wires just underneath it. If you are not sure what you are doing you risk breaking these or the brittle 10 year old well cooked wiring! Suggest you study the online manual

Gillette Ad car..
When I saw the Saleens creaming everything at Knockhill I realised that they were just there for the beer. It was simply no contest against the sports car class. They are very good looking cars and no doubt well engineered. As for any country's cars of today being shit just because there were bad ones in the past - it doesnt mean it stays that way. Heck wasnt it British Leyland that first licensed the local manufacture in Japan that kicked off Datsun/Nissan? Lets face it Greece pretty much gave up after the chariot and that only had a few horse power and killer wheels;). As for USA cars of today what about the new Ford GT? Yes I know the GT40 was make in UK! so's the Mclaren, SLR etc etc Here's to opinions and people who have em!

hunting idle
TPS connectors also. Mine would suddenly settle down to a slow idle when the connectors were wiggled. Unplugged them on and off a few times to clean up the contact surfaces and since then OK. Also it could be time for a throttle body cleanout and a clean out of the idle valve that meters idle air flow.

Import Cruise control, how do you derestrict it?
UK runs 30 - 90. But seriously when can you leave it at 90 for very long in this country?

Gillette Ad car..
Watched a race at Knockhill with Saleens among Corvettes various Porches of the 911 type, Ferrari 360 Modena, Lotus Esprit, TVRs, Morgans. etc. The 2 Saleens killed all of them for dead - big lazy V8 just left em for dust on the straights and cornered fine too. It was like Le Mans racing cars against sports cars. No contest.

TYRE ADVICE! Please help ASAP
I would guess that they didnt rub in the wheel arch. Ive got the same size wheels and tyres and one of my wheel rims has a rub mark on the inner rim from when an outer Hicas arm bush had worn out causing the end of the arm to touch the rim under some condition. Maybe we have different offset. My tyres have never made contact with the inner arch. Maybe with duff shocks the travel might get there in extreme. The shocks might be getting soft. I followed an 90 NA recently and it had more float at the rear than a yank tank. I dont know how the guy driving it could put up with that. Anyway going to 285s should be OK just remember the gearing will change and the speedo might under read. and if you really have trouble with contact to the inner arch it will get worse with the extra cm each side of tyre.

Lightweight - I don't get it
You need to remember that engine designers dont put in heavy pulleys and flywheels because they're too stupid to use lightweight materials. They do it because it is the best compromise. There are harmonic vibrations induced in crankshaft depending on rpm and clever use of mass in the pulley and flywheel damps this out and makes for a smoother engine thats more road useable. Sure you can get more power by changing these components but there is always a cost somewhere else. Smoothness, quietness, crankshaft journal wear etc Theres no free lunch.

Good saving?
Nice one Cheers Dave It looks straightforwardish

Garage or outside?
Those covers from argos are not up to much. they soon disintegrate outside or blow off. I used one of the more expensive du pont material ones over dec/jan while the zed was unused and even though the car was clean and the cover was soft on the inside there are fine scratches where the flapping with the wind has buffed the paintwork. Hopefully a waxing will get them away. The cover I got was the big size for a Lexus 400 sized car so it went right down to the ground all round on the zed and tucked under front and back with straps. Think it was about£35 from Halfords half price bin - ie should have been £60 ish.

Good saving?
Dave How much time to take off both door cards? I've got a pair of new speakers to go in but dont know how much weekend time it might take. Dont want to start it if i cant do it in a one er.

Severe uneven tyre wear !
top link bushes possibly sha99ed as well. Jack it up and feel for play.

gear box mount
You also need to check your propshaft when it's off. You have to look for tight or siezed bearings in the universal joints or play in the spiders.

The Need For Speed!
Remember that speedos are indicators and indicators indicate. Its highly unlikely you were doing anything like 173. Unless yours is chipped delimited, and running at least 14psi. In fact at a true limited 155 stock its likely a standard zed speedo will show upwards of 165 just with typical error. Checked mine with a GPS and even though with 18" wheels and 265s it should be under reading by about 2.5% it over reads by about 4 mph at 70. Anyway it was still bl**dy fast and enough to have you locked up;)

Shaking!!!
tension rod bushes on front might be shot and all the silicone gunge gone. Or maybe HICAS arm ends or inner ball joints shot or even a track rod end at the front. Think its telling you not to go fast
