  1. Try here: http://www.bikerlifestyle.co.uk/tech/pcd/pcd.html
  2. It'll 'work' but won't tell you anything worth knowing... save for a wideband!
  3. The problem is the sheer volume required - 70,000 per year minimum... at the moment they are delivered daily to cover the outgoing deliveries, but costs are escalating rapidly so it now makes financial sense to invest in a pallet making machine as it would pay for itself within 2 years, even quicker if we offer them for sale to 3rd parties. I can't imagine a specialist being able to even match the prices of a national supplier?
  4. I need to price up a fairly large, and ongoing job, but so far quotes haven't been forthcoming so I thought I'd try on here... It's basically to supply components for pallet construction, initially enough to produce 250/ day. The pallets will be single use within UK, so ISPM15 doesn't apply, meaning the timber won't require heat-treatment or fumigation. Cheers, Rich
  5. I had similar thoughts about mine - couldn't be sure whether it was or not... and it failed very shortly after! I was surprised at how well it performed until the last few miles though! Get on the motorway and floor it in 4th - will be obvious if it's slipping or not!
  6. Saw them myself - I've known a few people use the 'proper' ones (Autosock?) and say they're great as long as you stop as soon as you get onto clear road as they damage easily... could be worth a punt. Last year it was pretty bad round us so I put a couple of bags of grit in the boot - the weight meant I got stuck less, and when I did I had some grit to chuck under the wheels and get going again - worked pretty well - only had to turn around once!
  7. Staples quite often have offers on, and I know Kall-Kwik do them if you've got a franchise near you... probably find ebay's the cheapest though...
  8. The only way I've found to get about in the snow is to disable traction and DSC and put some weight in the boot - once you're moving put it back on if you want, but it's usually better to keep the wheels spinning in my experience... if you grind to a halt, you'll be lucky to get going with them on!!
  9. You want a 'proper' contact adhesive - one that's locked away in the DIY store! I've used evo stick for doing bits and pieces before, but not a dash - which will get hammered by the sun I guess! May be worth contacting a re-trimming supplies place and seeing if they've got any suggestions?
  10. Sorry, but coffee's not a good idea... caffeine's positive effects are short lived, but it's a diuretic so will ultimately dehydrate you more, which will be felt even more if you're not in shape! Don't get me wrong, I've done it myself (when I was fit!) to pick me up a bit before I went training in the evening... but that was knowing that once I was warmed up I had the fitness to carry on.
  11. You've definitely got an auto haven't you? If you put your foot to the floor, then press a little bit more you'll feel a click - which drops the box 1-2 gears depending on speed.
  12. Mine made a distinctive clunk! You need to press and hold the kickdown switch for it to work... if it has reset, you should notice it straight away.
  13. Here you go... http://forums.5series.net/topic/40018-the-hold-down-accelerator-for-25s-trick-for-smoother-shift/ I never had it remapped, a friend of mine had a new 330d done and it is very rapid for an oil-burner! I'd have a look through bimmerforums - not been on there for ages, but there are plenty of threads & recommendations... The only thing I'd be wary of is I had the turbo go on mine - forget about long interval servicing and do an extra oil change in between services! Rich
  14. But from what PaulC posted the other day, it will need one in 2012 - i.e. if one was fitted as standard, it must be present...
  15. ECU goes into learning mode again... if you've got an auto, there's also a sequence you can follow to reset the g/box ecu - my 530d was quite sluggish and jerky when I got it, but a noticeable difference after resetting and thrashing it around a bit!
  16. Frost do something: http://www.frost.co.uk/automotive-windscreen-tools/windscreen-scratch-repair-kit.html not that cheap though... what's the windscreen excess on your insurance? Would be a shame if a stone hit it...!
  17. Take it easy round cascades in this weather... that corner was the last time I drove my old car!!
  18. Agree it's funny, hence why it's still going, just a shame it's not true!
  19. At least 10 years this one's been doing the rounds!!
  20. There's probably something not quite right then... I could get comfortably into the 30s on a motorway run (TT), and not driving like a Sunday driver either!
  21. Same here - google cache was empty too!
  22. It's not bizarre really - it's a GT so all these things are considerations; you've also got to consider the fact that, if you rag the shit out of it, and screw the gearbox, diff or clutch, then Mr Nissan has to pay out on warranty repairs (when new obviously!). Another consideration is failure - I've seen a one piece fail on track, and it could have been nasty of it had gone on the straight rather than a hairpin... at least with a 2 piece it's not a pole vault situation!! The set up on the zeds isn't that bad - I've seen older BMWs with huge rubber rings at the front of the prop... made a massive difference removing it.
  23. There's more movement in a two piece, so it's more mechanically sympathetic - and a two piece should also smooth the transmission slightly, so improve comfort & noise...
  24. Have you sent the Western Union transfer to yourself to prove your identity yet?! Haha... in all seriousness, just be very wary!
  25. I'd use the method you've mentioned, see here: http://www.trickyways.com/2010/08/how-to-transfer-emails-from-outlook-to-apple-mail/ There's also readpst - but it's a lot more involved, and I've never done it myself so cann't recommend it... Outlook2mac isn't supported anymore, but you can try http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1220793 using http://c-command.com/eaglefiler/ - it' $40, but then it depends on whether you've got Microsoft Office or not! The Thunderbird method isn't all that bad - and at least you've only got to do it once! Just thought of one other thing... is it a new Mac? If you only need it for reference, you could use parallels or boot camp and just boot into windows to check for messages and save some of the hassle?
