  1. The ebay link is badly listed so ranks about 10 or more pages in to a Nissan 300zx search so many will miss it, a heads up on links such as this are always useful to get the best deals  Jeff TT
  2. Glad to be of service.......... Jeff TT
  3. January deal for you guys, those pesky little plastic quadrants that break and allow the key barrel to just turn and not lock or unlock the door now in metal. £14.99 per pair delivered to your door You got just love the internet eh? Just follow the link to purchase: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nissan-300zx-brand-new-lock-hanger-mech-/131097293346?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Car+Make%3ANissan%7CModel%3A300+ZX&hash=item1e8601f222 Jeff TT
  4. Check the water level at the rad cap, even a slightly low level can cause the heater matrix to air lock, also check the pipes at the back of the engine to the matrix are connected and not been linked out by a previous owner. Rear demister check fuse in the drivers foot well fuse box, also check the earth tag on the tailgate, passenger side under the side plastic. Sorry Dave to just clarify the heater matrix valve is not above the clutch pedal area it is to the left over the tunnel area and has the heater ecu, mounting bracket and plastic cover over it so is not possible to put your hand on it. 5. Ok lots and lots of choice, however make the wrong choice and you wallet will groan.... Worse choice: Nissan UK Standard fit Nissan boxed pads to fit a R34 GT-R Brembo calipers £290 OUCH!!! Not so bad choice: EBC Red stuff R34 GT-R Brembo calipers £102.80 ( Demon Tweeks Direct ( E-Bay) ) Best option: BMW spurious brands: Little known fact is the BMW 8 (E31) 850 also used the same Brembo calipers, as a more main stream car than the GT-R the spurious suppliers can do a better deal, so look for the BMW fittment instead and the prices then start from £36.16 ( LINK BELOW) http://www.micksgarage.com/proddetails.aspx?pid=426260&pk=ff568 Ran a set of spurious BMW pads in my Brembos for 4 years no bad pad wear or dust and brakes pin sharp feel, cost me around £35 at the time....bargain without compromise. Hope that helps. Jeff TT
  6. Doh! feel for you guy another dashboard removed for no good reason, matrix is removed via the access slot by the pedals no need to remove the dash! Jeff TT
  7. ....and there you have it, in a retail business world where expectant low price has been exchanged for quality service, many alarm engineers will not be able to stay competative in the market. So how do they continue? cut corners or to stop undertaking installations? sounds like your guy Richard took the better approach albeit at the expense of his business. Jeff TT
  8. Moteor.....location Coleshill? really not seen your zed about! Jeff TT
  9. 02 sensors will not be causing black smoke as you mention most zeds have one or both sensors failed or disconnected without any issues, interestingly whilst passing through Milton Keynes saw saw Rusty Sills zed in the distance ( did not catch up) that was black smoking when he gunned it, this was shortly after Noz had mapped it, maybe a similar issue worth asking Noz or Rusty sills if his black smoke has stopped now, this is just just an observation not a go at Noz. Jeff TT
  10. As mentioned above the flashing power light is to tell you there is a stored fault code that needs reading, this is via the built in diagnostic and by following the link below detailing how to do it and what the codes mean will help you get to the cause of the problem hopefully. http://www.zedworld.co.uk/wizzj.html#auto_box The auto box ecu takes readings from lots of areas to make gear change selection times and even a low battery can cause it to have a bad day, as groover mentioned it sounds like your box is defaulting to limp home which basically is a single gear usually 3rd. generally this will be some kind of power or cable fault, often more than one issue, speed sensing internal gear cluster speed sensor or power supply, we have even seen simply faulty ecu do this, the battery voltage when start up is also an area which can trigger a code, not always a fault but a code all the same. Do the diagnostic and post back the error codes, be aware some zeds will not allow the in built diagnostic to work, no reason other than they can, may take a few attempts. Jeff TT
  11. Will always be here to help. If you get really stuck and you don`t mind the drive up we can sort the little gremlins out together over a cup of tea and biscuits. Jeff TT
  12. Replied to your pm but forgot to add the oil pressure switch to the list. Jeff
  13. Looks like the control box to those bumper parking aerials they like in Japan to help you judge the corner of the car when parking. Jeff TT
  14. Don`t jump to any conclusion just yet, firstly the white smoke your talking about is very likely condensation and head gasket failure is unlikely, heads do warp when the engine has had a major over heat but rarely do head gaskets fail. If there is an issue with the headgasket/ head then over pressure of the system will mean driving the car for more than a few minutes is not possible. Very likely you just need the matrix and a set up doing, quite normal for a new owner to feel as you do, within a small time your will understand more what is good and bad with your zed. Jeff TT
  15. Might be just the fill tube missing or relocated, the blue pipe coming from the rear of the rad cap should go to it. Jeff
  16. Ok matrix sorted and replied to your email. Jeff TT
  17. Ok best you drop me an email via our web site as you not a subscribed member and cannot send you private messages, that way can keep in touch better. Jeff TT
  18. Dependant on getting a matrix in time as used our stock one just before the break, will check and come back to you. Jeff TT
  19. Yes thats right, might be worth linking out as groover mentioned, check to see how bad the leak is by monitoring the water level at the rad cap and how wet the carpet is by the front of the transmission tunnel. Jeff TT
  20. Sure I did a write up a few years ago?? will see if I can find it, the correct matrix is silver in colour the incorrect ones are black, they are both Primara ones its the earlier one that is correct. Jeff TT
  21. Seriously guys this must be one of the most talked about jobs on a zed over the past 10 years and why anyone would take the dash out is a complete mystery, have done scores of these over the years and mostly whilst the owner waits in reception. Usual target time for matrix removal in an auto is around 35 mins, a manual takes a little longer at 55 mins, either should be all done and buttoned up in 2 hours, we used the genuine Nissan matrix for many years as they come complete with new copper pipes, operating valve, inner foam insulator and new outer rubber grommet. At that time the Nissan versus non Nissan matrix was a no brainer, however as Nissan UK continued to raise the price the genuine matrix price has become plain silly and now the non genuine matrix is much more economical. Be aware though the non Nissan matrix is NOT as well constructed as the genuine one and does not include the new valve and pipes etc. only time that will will tell on how long they last but at £220 fitted its not like its a big number job as the genuine parts is more than that on its own. Jeff TT
  22. A few short memory issues here .......... lol Jeff TT
