Why do ppl still all want manuals ?!?!
While they may have a more advanced 'box than the ZX it doesn't mean it works better than the ZX set-up. I generally didn't like autos having driven a few Scorpios, Cavaliers and Vectras. But when I bought my first Supra turbo, which was auto I changed my mind. It seems if you have an auto with a big powerful engine (ZX, Jag and BM/Merc over 3000cc) you don't lose performance. Most Porsche 928s are auto and with 5400cc engines they are certainly as good to drive as manwells  If you put an auto box with a small engine (ie Focus and most other normal cars) it will be cr@p because there isn't enough power to make the car go quickly. Richard ;)

Iridium spark plugs; are they really any good?
Hi Craig I have these in my TT. IMO they don't give any extra bhp but they are more durable than platinum so should stay at peak performance for longer. Also they would be better than stock plugs if you drove a modded car. So overall I would say they are better :) When I replaced mine I did notice an improvement in the overall running of the car but put that down to the fact that the originals had been in for a long time and were past their best. If you log onto http://www.sparkplugs.co.uk you can get iridium jobbies for way less cash than a stock set Richard  you can get the iridium

Speed Cameras
Well, it's only taken them how many years to figure that out.....? I agree with those sign thingys, after all, surely it's better to stop people speeding through urban areas than catch them after they have killed someone.........

hmmmm...Auto's
I'm happy with my auto as well  I drove both before buying and TBH there was very little difference in overall performance, both versions leave ordinary cars in their wake...... :hyper: I only chose my auto because it was the best ZX available from those I looked at, I liked both versions so didn't mind which one I bought. ;) The auto box in the zx is well matched to the type of car it is, autos also have smaller turbos which spool up quicker to reduce lag. There is virtully no delay between pressing your foot to the carpet and the car shooting forwards - very good for overtaking slower cars on a/b roads when gaps in oncoming traffic are few and far between (warning, passengers may soil themselves on your upholstery :nono: ) A word of warning on imports, though. The auto box oil cooler is not up to the job for fast driving on UK roads so gearboxes have been known to die - the UK car has a better oil cooling set-up. You need to uprate the 'cooler on imports. HTH Richard

Speed Kills??????!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Moving on from this, I think that all cyclists and animals (fekkin horses) that intend to use the roads should also have 3rd party insurance. That way if you hit a cyclist etc and they are at fault, you can make a claim from them for damage caused to your car. The times I've almost rammed cyclists who have jumped red lights at cross-road junctions...... :nono: AND the other day I was driving at 70 on a dual carriageway when this dozy selfish bint on HORSEBACK rode onto the carriageway and expected me to stop so that her horsey chums could ride accross :slap: I normally do slow down for horses, but at 70mph FFS  Now that's dangerous.....I had to use the horn to warn her there was no way I could stop safely and luckily she got off the carriageway. Not without several hand gestures to me though..... ;) I think it is unfair that the motorist is always to blame for collisions with pedestrians, I mean it's easier for a 11 stone man on foot to stop or change direction than it is for a 1.5 tonne car travelling at 30mph  Just my 2p's worth..... Richard :smw:

ALL Clear tail lights..............
Both, Nigel Red reflectors are a legal requirment in most countries, so if you fit fully cleared lenses you will have to stick some reflectors elsewhere on the back of the car. :nono: Richard :)

new to Zeds I want one NE
Hi Cadpaul Reading the forum posts would have you believe that......... However these cars are essentially reliable, Nissan over-engineering etc. However they are high performance cars which are at least 10 years old now. What's important is to buy a good, well maintained one in the first place. Also many will agree that those with serious performance modifications are the most troublesome. I use mine every day, f**k the fuel consumption (average 18mpg) it's too good to leave in the garage!!. If it bothers you buy a diesel VW !!! There are some good ones for sale here on the forum, which would have been looked after by enthusiasts with a hive of ZX knowledge at their disposal. Once you drive one, you'll be hooked. Good hunting, mate Richard

Steering.
Hi ZBOB as the HICAS light comes on, I refer you to my earlier reply regarding the steering wheel boss. Did you get one with the HICAS sensors? (They cost around £100, not the normal £30 ish ones that you get with aftermatket 'wheels for ordinary cars) Richard

Heater Matrix
At least you have an auto, they're easier to do as there is no clutch pedal to remove.

kid down the road
A :xxx: in one of these Z4s cut in front of me on a dual carriageway the other day as I was about to pass him (typical BMW driver) because he thought his car was fast. He couldn't accelerate away quick enough from 50mph :D We then met at some traffic lights on the same road. He didn't stand a chance!!! :hyper: At 80mph I was yards ahead and the Z4 was getting smaller in my rear view mirror  Richard ;)

written off. Is this a reasonable amount
Before you enter into negotiations over the value, have you banked the cheque? Many insurers end their letters with sentences like ".........the presentation of the enclosed cheque at our bank indicates acceptance of our offer in full and final settlement........" Otherwise, you may as well decline their offer as the insurers sometimes expect you to negotiate. Good luck Richard :)

wheels
Hi John, I don't mean to dissapoint you, but I doubt you will find any of the BK range will fit a 300ZX. I quite liked a couple of wheels from their range but when I phoned BK direct they didn't list the ZX among their fitments - they don't make wide enough rims to clear the brakes or for the best tyre sizes :( I found this was the case with many of the more popular brands - they only cater for "ordinary" cars Richard :)

The BIG ISSUE!.
How does that work, then? Do they fill in a child tax credit type form, only for homeless people with dogs?? Still, with this government I'd believe anything like that  Richard ;)

The BIG ISSUE!.
Why is it that 90% of Big Issue sellers have a mangy looking dog (furry 4 legged kind) in tow? If they were that hungry, they could always eat it, I suppose..... Richard :slap:

how much would a 350z cost in usa
It would be cheaper, but could you live with a left-hooker? And the extra insurance premium?
