  1. Can't find the bit of paper I wrote it down on :o , but IIRC Mike charges £175 + vat for the cross-drilled front discs and £55 + vat for the metal pads ;) Richard :D
  2. already ahead of you mate ;) With Stillen's carriage charge, plus vat + import duty Mike's price works out similar......I know who I'd rather do business with (thanks for the spoiler, mike - it arrived today) Richard :)
  3. Yup, mine too...... ;) Just bought some Millers XFS fully synth 5w40 from Mike Feeney ready for service next month. Only cost £21+vat for 5 Litres  Much cheaper than the £40 odd Mr Shell charged for 4 litres of Helix Ultra Richard :)
  4. Hi all Just enquired about a set of cross-drilled Stillen front discs and metal matrix pads direct from Stillen in the USA....... Discs V.cheap at US$135 a pair and the pads come in at US$59. Great prices, I thought, ..........until they got back to me re the freight cost US$210 FFS !!!! I tried pricing the same product from UltimateZ, although discs are $240-ish a pair they only charge $54 to ship them here (and the pads are $10 cheaper) A saving of over $60 in all..... I thought feck-it, as I'm going to have to pay duty etc I may as well get them from Mike Feeney as there's not much in it in the end and if there are any probs, it will be easier to deal with Mike than someone in the USA. However, if I wanted the 99 spec rear lights, it would only add another $300 to UltimateZ's price..... :) Hmmmmmmm Richard :smw:
  5. Red Zedz rule !! :hyper:
  6. Sure do.... I've a UK zx and I got the titanuim key with mine  Plus the black one and the red valet key Richard
  7. I was always under the impression that platinum plugs should not be cleaned, just replaced  Something to do with damaging the small electrodes or removing the platinum coating? Richard :x:
  8. Hi Ady I am going to make a sweeping statement that many other members may ridicule  but...... .......looking on Autotrader's website in the last month or so I have seen 2 clean UK spec cars (that's UK spec before everyone gets excited and says I'm talking bo11ox coz Zeds are cheap etc etc at the minute) with approx 65-80K miles going for £6995 and £8495. IIRC one was a 1992 and the other a 1994. Both from traders. Doesn't mean the daler would get that, of course..... Good UK cars are now very few and far between so later models or lower mileage examples are fetching a premium, it would seem. And some people would rather pay for such a car with a known full history than buy a cheaper import, where the full story is sketchy. Hold out for around £6-6500 ish and try to find a similar car for sale to show the insurance co what a replacement would cost. All the best with your claim, mate Richard :)
  9. 13 for me......... But the answers for when someone is tailgating you didn't include ".......floor it and show them what 2 turbos and 300BHP can do......" Richard :hyper:
  10. Good, but he couldn't stick his head up his ar5e though
  11. Hi Nick I'd do as PaulG says, deffo false advertising  The kit in the pic looks good and I was thinking of getting it too, thanks for the warning, mate. I think I may take the easy but more expensive option of the leather kit from Luke at Z centre if I do go ahead with the retrim. Richard :)
  12. Sorry guys, Gonna cry off of this one...... Had a chest infection last couple of days and the cough is stopping me (and Julia :slap: ) sleeping properly. I still feel a bit poo and don't fancy the thrill of the M25 today :( Have a good one and see you next time :hyper: Richard

Too true  Amazing how dirt can impede airflow over the car creating extra drag :D ;) Richard :smw:
  14. Doesn't Andy Duff reside that way ? Hope you get it sorted, mate  Richard
  15. A mate of mine had one of these, I could outrun it in my old Supra Mk3 turbo. Not a walkover mind, like you say up to about 80 it was close but the Supra still pulled enough of a lead. After 80 though it was bye bye Astra. When I got the ZX he had trouble keeping up and by 70-80 I would be a bit further ahead, but in the 70-100 rolling range he could not even get close....... He's now got a Scooby, that gets to 80-90 quicker, but after that..... ;) Richard
  16. LMAO !!! :D But the birds from here in Buckinghamshire all speak proper English and sound dead sexy  Richard :smw:
  17. Silly question, mate but have you actually tried them in the dark yet ?? The blue coating just gives the light a white/blue glare but can actually rob the overall output, especially when we have "opaque" lenses on the projector beams. You may find that at night your lights are actually better than before..... Richard ;)
  18. It is the higher end where the ZX becomes untouchable - ask a scooby owner :D But from say 70-100 a ZX should still outrun most so-called performance cars, but the issue now is that a lot our cars are around 10 years old with a few miles under their belts.....(and turbos that may be past their best). Having said that, I had a rumble with a Pork 911 (not turbo) carerra (L reg) from a standing start along a "track" this afternoon and I was first to 140  Richard :hyper:

Hi mate... Looks good, personally I'd keep the wheels. They really suit the car  Get the right set and 17s look better than anything bigger IMO (and I know I'm not the only one here with that opinion...... ;) ) Richard :) PS like the house too.......

According to road tests here in the UK (Autocar, What Car etc) a stock UK ZX is still quicker than a stock UK RX7........ RX7 responds v.well to mods, though (but engines don't last  ) and I'm not sure what power imports put out Richard :)

    Shouldn't feck with a classic :(
  22. Stock speedo doesn't seem far out on your then, mate :) I've read that some are over 10% out at that speed, but also that when these cars were new, they were fairly accurate  I've proved mine was accurate at 70-80mph, so I guess my indicated 160 max was probably the speed limiter kicking in at around 155....... Richard ;)
  23. It's an error...... read the advert blurb, he is asking "$14500 or best offer" :slap: :nono: Obvioulsy Zeds rule  Richard
  24. Well.... before I knew about this, I was planning to go to the AWOL meet at the Royal Oak. But since everyone is heading east, I may have to join you all :p Richard
