  1. Yup - Go Gio  There's a good article written by John-Boy in the latest Z-club mag too. Richard
  2. Yup, a 1982 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. Richard  PS KITT would be my number one ;)
  3. Yeah, then leave it there. Run into the next cubicle to wipe and flush away the paper. The turd will fester and ripen over the holidays :D Richard ;)
  4. Says it all really Stuart. You must be notified of any changes to your contract and you must then object to the SPECIFIC changes you don't accept in writing ASAP. The rest of the contract will stand apart from the disputed part until resolved. Richard :smw:
  5. They get their way yet again - another minority religion in a Christian country telling the majority how to run things :nono: They'll get Christmas banned next FFS (Oh wait a minute, we've already had this thread.....) Anyway, it's only a play FFS - if you don't like or agree with it then don't go and watch it. Simple really  Richard :headvswal
  6. 280-300bhp..........UK cars are quoted by Nissan to be 280, Japanese "agreement" to limit all cars to 280 wasn't always kept to. They just quoted te cars as having 280bhp when the reality was probably higher (Skyline GTR anyone? - whilst they are stated at 280bhp, I bet they are way more :x: ) BTW only UK spec Supras have 326bhp, down to larger turbos. The J-spec ones do actually have 280bhp, although the later J-spec VVT-i engined twin turbo Soops may have 320 - ask on the Soop forum :nelson: Richard :)
  7. My opinion also. I always obey 30, 40 and all sensible 50 limits but "national speed limits" are a diffrerent matter, providing it's safe dry and clear. Remember until the 1960s national limit meant no speed limit, although most cars coudn't safely cruise at 70mph for any distance anyway  Assuming clear, dry conditions and traffic flow being favourable, on national speed limit roads my general speeds are: single carriageway A/B road 70-80mph dual carriageway 80-90mph motorway 90-100mph (although on occasion the ZX has crept up to the limiter!! ;) ) That is in the ZX incidentally - they would be 10-20mph lower in the Corsa or Rav and a lot lower in bad weather, whatever car I'm driving. Richard
  8. On a recent business trip to Sweden, the MD of our supplier picked me up from the airport in his Saab 9-5 aero. This has been chipped and fettled to 300bhp, it is a front wheel drive but is still perfectly driveable. Good grip and decent performance too. Richard :)
  9. Not exactly mate ;) I only remember reading that "........had a hunch the N/A would be nicer for everyday driving........" and "....the regular car is light and easy to drive fast but the turbo requires more effort and is more the expert's car....." :D Still, when it comes to colours there is no doubt......... "......red is the designer's choice as the most appropriate colour........" :hyper: Richard
  10. In the Midlands, you have Jeff TT AKA Z-world or you could travel to Wiltshire and see Ryan (AKA Baggins) at Z-tech. Richard :o
  11. I got the 99 spec front too - must agree it is the best front end for the ZX   Richard :smw:
  12. Yup, got one too - damn good read  I bought it from a forum member who no longer has a ZX, Ben IIRC Richard :D

The 4.4 V8 as used in 540. 740 and 840 is a fine engine indeed. Also used in the new Morgan and a couple of other nice sports cars IIRC. As said above, they will last a long time if looked after properly. Richard
  14. Yeah, this stuff actually works  Keep the air-con on too and you should have no probs Richard ;)

I'd try and get a set of proper ZX wheels, or wheels wide enough for a ZX. There are a few sets of 2nd hand stock wheels on here. Richard
  16. Try http://www.wickedwheels.co.uk Richard
  17. Hi mate If you want any Azev try here: http://www.dtmotorsport.co.uk They are the sole UK importer for Azev and will charge you the same as they sell them to all other retailers. They will also order you a set specifically drilled for a 300ZX. Phone and ask for Dave - he knows his stuff and will give youa good deal on tyres too. Richard:cool:
  18. Heh heh  I have always had similar trouble after selling a car. I've always lavished attention on them and have never had any trouble with most of my cars. But the day after I sell them......... :x: I reckon it wants to stay.... Richard :)
  19. Same from me too mate. :( Once you get the insurance payout Zeds are pretty cheap at the mo, I know it's no consolation but at least you can replace it. You can't replace your life. Good thing the ZX is a big well build car. Richard :)
  20. That's odd Gio  After all when an insurance company provides a courtesy car whilst yours is being repaired they switch your cover to the hire car for the duration. Can you not just switch your cover temporarily, if you aren't using your ZX? Not only that, but a couple of years ago when I bought the Corsa, I hadn't sold the Micra at the time but Direct Line let me insure both cars on one policy for a month for £25. Good luck. Richard :)
  21. I do believe the Japanese are essentially honest people and that most cars sold at auction are genuine....... .......however now that importing Japanese sports cars is big business, several UK based importers now have a rep permanently based in Japan. I think it is these guys that clock the cars - they buy any old crap for buttons at auction, clock them and flog them to the unsuspecting british public for vastly inflated prices :xxx: Why is it that most "new" imported ZXs seem to have "54K miles" on the clock. I bought an imported Supra Mk3 6 years ago when imports were a relatively new concept and it came with a whole stack of history and documents, indicating it was genuine. I wouldn't buy an import now unless I could be certain it was genuine. When I was looking for a ZX I saw so many imports that initially looked good but upon closer examination it was clear the mileages were tampered with. Luckily I found a genuine, good UK car instead. Richard :x:
  22. Performance "Hunters" IIRC Richard
  23. I recognise that car. It was for sale here a few months back. It has been owned by 2 forum members, both of whom I cannot remember. If was a decent UK car, low miles, manwell etc etc.  What a waste. I was considering buying this one had the insurance company written mine off after my accident. Richard :(
