dim-dip question?
UK cars do have dim-dip. Although the later cars may not - most new cars in the UK now no longer have dim-dip so is has been phased out over the years. When you turn on the side lights, the head lights do come on at half brightness - not sure whether ingition makes a difference though. Lots of other manufacturers had the side lights built into the headlamps, so with side lights on, they looked like the headlamps were only half on; whereas the ZX has separate side lights in the bumper (indicators on UK spec and fogs on J-spec) so it appears obvious when you have "dim dip" as the half-bright headlights come on with side lights. When I wired in the HID conversion to my UK spec car, the dim-dip no longer worked as there was not sufficient power to activate the balast pack. Richard :)

PC help please
Right! I have successfully added Tiscali and Yahoo to my home page tabs and it works - I just cannot delete MSN. At least I can live with that........ Richard :smash:

PC help please
Sounds like it.... .....although I've been using IE7 for some time now and until today my home pages were always Tiscali and Yahoo. Why is it only now that I cannot change it? And why on my work PC (also using IE7) can I keep Google as my home page? Anyone know where the option to disable that setting is? Richard :wack:

PC help please
No! I deleted all content in the box and typed the 2 home pages I want. Clicked Apply then OK but it still defaulted back to MSN when I clicked "home" on the toolbar. It just bloody ignores me - damn PC has female hormones.......... :wack: Richard

PC help please
Hey all, I have just reset my browser settings to default (internet explorer 7) and I can't get my home page settings to save. I have clicked on "use default" "use current" etc in an effort to set it to my own choice, but even after clicking apply and OK it still goes back to MSN as my home page? Why won't it save my choice of home page? Thanks, Richard

Shite brakes
That is a misconception really - the brakes are fine when they are working properly. It's just that on a high performance car weighing over 1.5 tonnes age and use eventually takes its toll. If you have your calipers overhauled it will make all the difference - afterall the originals are 13 years old+ The stock discs can warp after a few 100-0 stops though so aftermarket ones are always better - 3g slotted discs are a decent upgrade for not too much cash. Richard :)

Which tyres for UK rear wheels?
Falkens? Some people here have nothing bad to say about them. Otherwise I'm happy with Dunlop SP 9000 sport (but I have 255/40/17 rears so not stock) Richard

if you could be
That's a good call..... .....otherwise Mick Jagger. He's lived the real rock & roll lifestyle and (apart from Jerry Hall  ) shagged some amazing women. Didn't do too badly out of his divorces either. Rod Stewart is another - and he has some decent cars as well..... Of course, I'd want to be either of them 30 years ago though and grow old just as (dis)gracefully  Richard

Minimum J Wheel Size On A Zed
Nothing less than stock sizes - 7.5j One thing to remember though, is that the brake calipers need a lot of clearance so many aftermarket wheels are still not wide enough even in 8j. Richard :)

Free flowing exhausts on turbo cars...?
Keeping back pressure is more of an issue for an N/A car. With a turbo engine, it has been proven that the less restrictions = more performance. So on a ZX TT, the bigger bore and no cat exhausts will make the car quicker and more responsive throughout the rev range. Richard :smw:

Hypercars
I actually thought so too. I would never dream of jumping level crossing lights and playing chicken with a speeding train. However those that do are just plain stupid. So, that video to me was tongue in cheek funny but your average moron may just think twice about running through a level crossing in future........ Richard :smw:

Tracing address
I (well at work) used to be a member of the Credit Protection Association; their website had a tracing function. You could enter a name, address or even just a phone number and it would fill in the rest of the details for you. Sadly I never bothered to renew the sub but if anyone else has access to their members' area they could trace it for you. Richard :(

Did nissan get it wrong?
My thoughts too, Gio! Richard :D

New Toyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No! Later J-spec cars lost the climate control and just had basic a/c. Climate was available as an option though. Cost-cutting excercise, perhaps? Richard :smw:

On a more Serious Note
So true! We need a government to brutalize criminals, lock up the homeless and close our borders. That'd clean up the inner-city streets and make it safer for good law biding folk. Oh and stop fleecing the motorists too  Richard :D

Planning a 4000km trip in the Z
Nice trip - I'd fancy that myself too  As for reliabilty - I'd just make sure my ZX was serviced before hand and take a chance. It hasn't let me down in almost 30k miles of ownership, so why should a 4000km (2500 mile) trip be any different. I have driven over 1500 miles in a week on holiday in the ZX on more than one occasion and it was fine..... Good luck, mate! Richard :smw:
