  1. Spiders don't really bother me............ ............unless they ve big mouths and fangs :smash: It is normal for people to be scared of them - as primates we are naturally programed not to like them; chimps and orang utans etc hate spiders too! I don't like heights though..... Richard :)
  2. As above - UK cars never had front fog lights fitted. Chances are a previous owner removed the stock indicators and fitted front fogs (I did and so have a few UK car owners here). If you need fog light lenses (and not plastic indicator/side light combination lights) then you will have to source them from a Japanese spec car. Richard :)
  3. That's what I use - football boot polish! It's water proof too  Richard
  4. Chap I went to wrote it up, stamped it and handed it to me on the spot  http://www.soundgallery.co.uk Richard :)
  5. Yup, I had the same thing with the Sigma fitted to my old Supra. The installer was a ham-fisted twat who turned out not to be VSIB acredited. I went to the local alarm specialists who re-wired a couple of features and issued a proper certificate for £20 + VAT. Job done, and no need to buy a whole new system  Richard :)
  6. Sorry mate :( I didn't know what you sold it for...... .....but I do remember your comments about the rotten sills and dodgy turbos! That's a fair chunk of cash to ask for a car if he hasn't resolved those issues  Still, you have a much better ZX now; I just hope some poor unsuspecting chappie doesn't pay the premium price only to end up here asking how to fix it....... Richard :)
  7. Can't see this happening....... .....10 years old - that's only an "R" reg isn't it? And what would be the benefit? Since 1992 (15 years ago) all new cars needed catalyic converters to reduce emissions. Said cats are tested annually at the MOT test along with vehicle emssions anyway so all polluters are failed and if not fixed, remved from our roads (hopefully). Richard :wack:
  8. Hi all, Anyone know if it is true that a 2002 Rav-4 2.0vvti has 5 (yes, 5??) oxygen sensors? My engine light has been coming on so I had a diagnostic check done at my local garage who identified a lambda sensor fault. After 3 visits, (as they kept buying the wrong part) they eventually cured the problem, but the mehcanic claims there are 5 on the car (not 5 different part numbers for that model, but actually on the car itself). I thought it may have 2 (pre and post cat) but surely not 5........ Anyway, 1 day after they replaced the "faulty" one, the engine light is on again  I guess I'll have to book it in again............at least my ZX never goes wrong! Richard :(
  9. Hey Joel, Take a look here - your old car for sale........ http://www.volantetrading.co.uk/83543/stock.htm Richard :)
  10. Will do, Cheers for that Spongey! Richard :)
  11. Do you.......(sorry for the hi-jack :smash: ) I've probably spoken to you on a couple of occasions mate!! I've got SmartNav fitted to most of my company's car fleet but Traffic Master are nearly always fekking up the subscriptions... I've only just found out that each basic £120 sub only includes so many "calls" to the centre requesting routes (yes I know - I should read the agreement... ). However as I have around 10 subscriptions is it possible to "pool" them (they are all on DD now and expire at the same time) because some drivers use it a lot and others not such a lot. So rather than each driver having (say) 200 calls per driver, could I have the whole 2000 calls in one pot for all drivers to use them up? Thanks for any advice.... Richard :)
  12. I'd have to keep it. It's too hot and stuffy in the summers here in the UK and in a luxury GT car like a 300zx it is an essential extra. In fact I'd never have another car without it. Richard :)
  13. I totally agree mate  It makes me mad when people expect you to pay them good money for a half arsed job; sadly I think it's the way things are going all over the place. people can't be bothered to do a proper job anymore and want paying a fortune for nothing. I'd go back, saying you only noticed the rest of the poor workmanship when you got home and ask them to re-do it. If you are a member of the AA or RAC then use their free legal service if necessary (RAC is better, the AA have a £1 per minute call centre). Find out what professional boy they belong to (RMI, SMMT etc??) and threaten to report them; then do so if you are still not satisfied. It's a real PITA but the b@stards will only get away with it as long as we let them. Good luck mate, Richard :(
  14. Heh heh, you didn't really mate!! I'm always looking out for another ZX but after driving mine around all day yesterday I still love it to bits, so who knows?? I may just replace the SLK instead - convertible 350z in black looks nice....ARGH!!! Richard :wack:
  15. Try extra virgin olive oil............
  16. And a third from me too mate! I guess that's because us red Z owners are much more friendly and happy...... ......must be something to do with having the fasted colour Zs........ Richard :p
  17. Nice one Joel! And I do agree wholly with your last paragraph........... Richard
  18. It's not too difficult as a DIY job - even I could manage that...... ......although I didn't as I'm lazy! My local garage fitted one for me in 1/2 hour or so  Richard :)
  19. In a TT? I'd say that a "30" rating is much too thin when hot, afterall Nissan specified a 10w40 semi-synth for the stock engine. Any decent quality oil with a hot rating of "40" or over is fine; if your engine is fairly stock and in good condition then a good 5w40 or 10w40 will be OK. If your ZX is highly tuned and putting out big power then go for a "50" or "60" rating. I'd also say that 2k mile oil changes are too frequent if you use a top quality fully synthetic oil as the oil doesn't get the chance to do it's stuff (according to an old Oilman thread). Nissan specified 9000 miles with a semi synthetic, but now these cars are older, I'd say that a decent fully synthetic would be fine if changed at between 4-6000 miles. Richard
  20. If you have a UK car, you could always try and fabricate something from the headlamp washer system............ ;) Richard :p
  21. Nice one mate! Hope it is agood one too; glad someone from the forum got their mitts on it rather than some spotty little oik who would end up wrapping it round a tree. Richard
  22. http://atsearch.autotrader.co.uk/www/cars_search.jsp?page=0&nU=0&make=NISSAN&model=300%20ZX&min_pr=&max_pr=&postcode=HP16%200SU&miles=40&max_records=200&modelexact=1&photo=1&hassearched=Y Hey Joel, Check out the link, It's the same car up as a private sale, second up from the bottom. You can just make out the numberplate  EDIT: Just called the private seller and he was a really nice helpful fella. It was his wife's car and he regrets selling it to a dealer (he confirmed it was the chap in Wycombe) but needed the space so he bit the bullet. It sounds a good buy too, if you can find it......
  23. Hey Joel, Just sent you a PM as I didn't want to cast aspersions on a public forum..... Richard ;)
  24. Will do mate! That wasn't the first by the way. Back in February I saw a nice 1996 "N" reg import TT manual with leather in metallic blue for sale in a garage around Royston way IIRC. (called Red something??) It was about £4995 too.... I didn't go and see it because I'm a lazy git. :slap: If I'd have known you were looking then, I'd have let you know. Richard
