Silver in Swindon?
I was there this morning around 11-ish. Driving between M4 J15 along the A419 (I think) and the retail place/STEAM museum. A silver ZX was parked on the opposite side of the dual carriageway..... ....anyone? Richard  (Sorry about vague location - I don't know Swindon at all)

This government were lucky to inherit a strong economy from the Tories. John Major's government set the foundations for the standard of living we currently enjoy Yes there were 3m unemployed in the early days of Maggies government, but that was because taxpayers money was being pumped into dead nationalized industry by the old Labour government before her. It had to stop - why keep coal mines open when they don't produce enough coal to be self sufficient? Thanks to Maggie, I'm only paying 40% income tax rather than the 60% top rate that it could still be, had Nigel Lawson not been able to cut it. Funny thing, politics. we can all argue who's right or wrong but at the end of the day it's what works out best for you as an individual that determines which way you lean. And for me, that happens to be conservatism; although the the watered down PC version we have at present ;) BTW, I did happen to be a little interested in current affairs from a young age so I do remember Maggie becoming PM even though I was only 9 ;) I guess I own that to my father........ New car.....
I'd have the VW or Audi myself mate. VAG diesels are spot on, plus you are not tarred with the BMW rep driver image either. The best thing about the BM though is that it is a proper RWD car, not a namby pamby FWD........ ;) Richard

Does any1 recognise this car?...
It looks familiar but I couldn't tell you for sure who owned it. Tidy car though........ Then I thought you were pleased with the red one you bought from Lee?? Richard :D PS race you to see it first..... ;) (only joking, buddy!)

Side indicators
All cars registered after 1986 (IIRC) must have indicators visible from the side. If you want to remove them, how about having repeaters built into the door mirrors? Richard

Smokin Probs
What he said..... ......but if the smoking is not too bad and you're not having to top up the oil then leave it - especially if performance is not effected. Wait until power drops or it starts to really smoke then get the turbos done; it is usually just the rear turbo oil seal but if you're taking them out it makes economic sense to recon the whole units. Richard

Rear tyre size advice please
255 is the best option! 255/40/17 are quite a common tyre size so the prices are not too astronomic and most tyre places have a fair selection of decent brands in stock. As Pete says, 255s on a 9.5 rim look spot on - I have them also :D Richard

back window - HELP!
Most are like that mate! I've had a few window claims and not one insurance company has made an issue of my NCB or loaded the premium for it. Richard

Not necessarily....... ;) Edward I (Hammer of the Scots  ) united England, Scotland and Wales some 3 hundred years earlier (1298?). Scotland then re-gained full independence after Robert the Bruce triumphed over Edward II's bum-bandit army at Bannockburn (1314). When James I (or VI of Scotland) ascended the English throne in 1603 he simply re-united both countries again....... Richard :slap:

I'm glad he's gone - and left a legacy to be poud of.......NOT  Blair's Britain - land of milk and honey........for immigrants, layabouts, workshy thieving pikeys and habitual criminals. The decent law abiding folk are made examples of by the courts for minor motoring offences whilst violent drunk chavs get an asbo and a £50 fine payable over 10 years...... I'm glad Brown is geting his chance to be PM though - it will be the final nail in "New" Labour's coffin :D Shame it's so long until the next election, it gives him a few more years to f#ck things up further :mac1: Richard
