  1. Performance is pretty similar, although manuals feel faster. General feeling though is that the manual is quicker 0-60 but auto is quicker 0-100 (and obviously 60-100 plus ;) ). Something to do with the number of gearchanges; 0-100 in a manual needs 2 changes but at higher speeds the auto box can change quicker than the average ZX owner if it is working properly. J-spec auto boxes will fry if they haven't been fitted with an upgraded oil cooler. Personally if I just wanted a 0-60 car I'd pick a Scooby and tune it; the ZX is no slouch though with a stock 0-60 time of 5.4 - 5.8 ish. The ZX is a great GT car, fast, comfortable and with great road presence. Plus for 40-100mph A-road overtaking it's among the best. The ZX is more "the whole package" than a scooby. Richard
  2. I bought a j-spec nose panel (Don't like the UK spec Nissan Hamburger :p ) for my car. My local body shop charged me £50 cash to sand, prime, paint and laquer the whole thing. Worth it IMO.... Richard
  3. Maybe I should stop listening as well..... Time was Virgin played decent rock music but now they have gone down the mainstream  Could listen to Planet Rock instead but I don't have DAB in the car and it's a little too heavy for the office :D Richard
  4. So true, I won't eat any fast food shite :hurl:
  5. Pure class :nana2: Trouble is, my wife is a bit apprehensive about the whole thing because she can see me doing that one day............ ;)
  6. WTF is that fekking annoying song about...... ......and why oh why to Virgin play it 5 times a day :smash: Richard :mac1:
  7. I have to rant about their revised program..... .....Now they apparently send you vouchers quarterly and you have to register by 10/7/07, sort a new password and select your preferred reward choice otherwise they automatically send Shell fuel vouchers. I registered and obtained a password 4 days ago, but had to wait 48 hours to select my reward choice. I tried today (as the deadline is tomorrow) and guess what???? High volume of calls - I have to wait another 48 hours :nono: Too fekking late for the deadline  I don't want their bloody fuel vouchers - no good to me as my company pays for all my fuel - I want Debenhams vouchers  Nothing is ever easy today is it Rant over ;)
  8. Newquay and Mevagissy are shit-holes IMO but not as bad as many other seaside towns in the UK. Rest of the county is nice though  North coast is my favourite - Rock, Padstow, Boscastle etc. Tintagel has gone down hill a bit over the last couple of years but it still has a certain "charm" plus I love the castle headland :D Looe, Polperro and Fowey on the south coast are lovely places as well. There are some very nice inland villages worth visiting too, plus it's a great place to "use" a 300zx :D Enjoy! Richard :hyper:
  9. Sure is :hurl: Still sad fekkers will buy them simply because of the badge......... :slap:
  10. In fairness, I'd think the same TBH...... If you know a car has something as standard OEM fitment then why would you not assume it is NOT there if not mentioned...? Sorry mate, just my opinion ;) Good luck with the sale though, Richard
  11. Nooooooooooo :nono: Why would the stupid f*cker do that to a previously good Z???????? Should have his arse removed for that :hurl: Richard
  12. I'm inclined to agree here too. 350Z is a very nice car indeed and prices have come down a bit lately but JB's right - when the turbos kick in the fun factor just makes you grin like an idiot. You just don't get that with the 350z..... If you do decide to buy a 350z, then keep the 300zx as well :D Richard
  13. Sorry mate - I can't see a car at all in that picture............ Richard :D
  14. That's the way do to it  Although it's not wierd that you have not been on a foreign holiday. I have been on a few but I don't really care for flying too much so that doesn't really help. Nowadays Julia and I tend to stay in the UK for most of our holidays - we just find a nice high quality country house hotel with good food and wine......If we do venture abroad it is usually Europe, I enjoy the Eurostar trips or taking the car into France. Also flights to Italy do not last very long so I can put up with it for a couple of hours; but the fekking around at check-in and bagage collection still pisses me off :( Anyway do as Si suggests - you will enjoy it! Richard :smw:
  15. My SLK runs at between 90 and 100 degrees - bank in the middle of the guage - so I wouldn't worry about 95 :D Richard
  16. Same here  Just a load of b0ll0x IMO :D
  17. Excellent! I hope it all works out well for you in the end mate. Richard :smw:
  18. Plus the Labour government was lucky to inherit the strong economy from John Major back in 1997. After the recession of the early '90s, the previous Tory government managed to pull the country back again - Gordon Brown, despite all his tax-grabbing faults  , just kept a steady hand on the rudder and (surprisingly for Labour) hasn't f*cked up the economy yet :D Give him time...... Richard
  19. Who cares...... .....just blind the Krauts!!! Richard :x:
  20. Ha ha.....That's the one!! Awesome   Gotta love the Muppets. Kermit was the coolest - love the one where he sang "Letting the days go by" dressed in a white suit.......(cue You Tube clip discovery??) :D Richard :smw:
  21. Excellent....!! Do you remember the one where Sandra Bullock was the special guest? She kept seeing those pink creatures each time she said "phenomenon".... Richard :smw:
  22. /\ /\ /\ As above....... ....GT TDi all the way VW diesels are very very good Richard :smw:
  23. Even if you had not called the police, they would have caught you on CCTV for smashing the barriers mate. Basically, you have already told your insurance company of the accident but you still have the choice whether you actually claim for the damage to your car. So you could in theory get all the parts you need from here and foot the repair bill for the car yourself. Then when you get the bill from the council for the barriers you then send it to your insurance company and they just pay out a third party claim to the council. Of course your NCB is affected but the car will never be recorded as Cat C damaged. Simple! Richard :smw:
  24. Don't know...... ......but I thought the same thing as well :D
