  1. Is that just the stock J-spec 225 tyres? Richard:confused:
  2. Me neither actually - despite my previous comment!! I like the idea of 700+bhp but would I spend £24k on a Vauxhall which we all know will be worth £10k in 9-12 months? No! For the money I'd buy something German so that I'd still have half a chance of the car retaining more of its value  Richard:)
  3. I like that too....... .......I also quite like the "blacking out" with the bumper light surround. It matches the smoked 99-spec indicators better that way. Richard:)
  4. Yup, looks a tidy car mate! Richard:)
  5. 710bhp.............. ......yes please:bow: Richard:cool:
  6. Looking good mate:hyper: Richard:cool:
  7. Genius:bow: More doctors like him and fewer managers in the NHS, is just what is needed. Richard:smw:
  8. The longer you leave it, the worse (and more expensive) it gets!! Don't worry, I hate dentists too but now I've found a good one I'm back on the six monthly appointments. And I'm not scared anymore......... Richard:)
  9. Hmmmmm, Cerbera or Subaru/Evo....... ......no contest:xxx: Cerbera all the way - stylish coupe over common saloon with a big spoiler:tongue: Plus the Cerbera is one of the very very few cars that will do 0-100 in under 10 seconds stock. For the money you can pick one up for, nothing comes close in performance. Awesome!!! Richard:hyper:
  10. If only our beloved government has some balls and took a leaf from this guy's book........... Richard:D
  11. I'm with you on that, Jimmy.....:D
  12. The voice of a rocking Z owner speaks volumes - cheers mate! Richard:dance:
  13. Hey all, has anyone heard of the following bands? "Simple Plan" "Biffy Clyro" A friend of Julia's has suggested their CDs as presents for her forth-coming birthday........ Thanks;) Richard:D
  14. Guys (and gals) don't worry about it..... .....whether you have an import or UK spec car, the 300zx road tax will not increase dramatically next year. It is currently £185 and the tax will remain at that level (subject to the usual £5 or £10 annual increases) for the forseeable future. It is only cars FIRST USED/MANUFACTURED afer March 2001 with an officially quoted CO2 figure that are affected by the rip-off thieving b@stard increases to £400 or so. Richard:)
  15. I don't mean to bear bad news but I had the same problem....... .......redlines in first until you ease off the gas, then it changes straight into third. Shortly after that 4th went as well - the car was doing 3000rpm at 60mph as it was still in third. Basically my 'box was fecked and needed a full rebuild. Cost me £1200! I thought about a 2nd hand auto box or manual conversion. But in each case I would have spent between (say) £700 and £1500 inclusive of labour for a second hand gearbox of unknown origin so it could have gone wrong again very soon after! At least I have an 18000 mile comprehensive warranty on my rebuild and it is now as good, if not better than new..... Richard:(
  16. I have grooved discs on my Z - 10 grooves IIRC - and they are a little more aggresive than stock..... ......my SLK has drilled discs as standard and feck me can than stop! Richard:smw:
  17. I think that most regular bikers are pretty safe....... ......it's the "born again" types, you know the 40+ year old guys having a mid-life crisis. They buy a powerful bike (because they can now afford it after working many years), to re-live their youth and only ride at weekends, treating our rural a & b-roads like race tracks. Sure I may be out early on a Sunday morning driving my Z on the same roads at 70-80mph; but whilst that is breaking the 60 limit, a Z (or any sports car for that matter) can generally corner neater and safer than a bike! Yet these middle aged twats still hare past me in packs of half a dozen riders, with scant regard for traffic coming the other way and then need the whole road to take a sweeping curve...... Richard
  18. If there's no drain plug then you will need to remove the sump plate. And you will only be able to drain about half the oil as the rest will remain in the torque converter. Thing is mate, unless you can drain the 'converter as well you are really wasting your time changing the fluid - if the fluid is shot or full of crap, half of it is going to remain in your box! If you want it done properly then get Z specialist or auto-box specialist to do it for you! Richard:cool:
  19. I take it then that the glass is patterned differently - otherwise I'd have thought that you could just use the headlamp adjusters and re-angle the beams to point the correct way for European use:confused: Richard:)
  20. Me too..... And only 6 episodes in the current series - I'm sure the previous series ran a bit longer..... Richard:(
  21. No it's fine mate! The "40" bit is more relevant at operating temperature and that's just what Nissan recommended! Richard:cool:
  22. I quite like them as I do love a nice V8:D But I'm sure glad I never bought one a couple of years ago for £25k only to see them for £11-15k now:x: I know all cars depreciate but it's a Vauxhall and like anything exotic from a home grown "bread and butter" manufacturer, the values plummet quicker than anything Germany has to offer. Still they seem like a good used buy now though........... Richard:)
  23. Someone was surely watching over him that day:p Richard;)
