  1. Hi Phil, Thanks for the comments! The A/C is now working perferctly thanks to Zed World. One 2nd hand condenser fitted by Jeff; plus a re-gas with the R12 substitute and all's well! If you need your's re-gassing give Jeff a call. Rather than retro-fit an R134 conversion, Jeff gets it re-filed with the substitute for the old gas at £80 plus VAT. Richard:)

  3. Cheers guys!! It's one of the best upgrades for a ZX; definitely! I did it to my old ZX and it really made a difference; my daily drive has HIDs as an OEM fitment - there's no substitute.... Plus, just in case I ever need them, I fitted Osram Nightbreaker H1 bulbs to the main beam;) Richard:)
  4. I bought an HID kit for my blue Zed...... ......I chose a 4300k set-up; I wanted function over appearance. The 4300k is more pure white than the blue of a 6000k kit. Now the OEM lights were not too bad but oh boy are the HIDs bright in comparison:bow: I took a couple of phone pics - now bring on the dark nights (not that I use the Z that much at night; but at least I can now) Oh yes, and that thin metal strip inside the lower part of the front bumper - well I removed the surface rust you can see in the pics and coated it in black Hammerite;) Richard:cool:
  5. Looks good mate...... .....I quite like those rims but they only seem to look good on a black car! Richard;)
  6. It indicates a blown bulb mate. If it lights when you brake, then you have a brake light bulb that needs replacing! I doubt it's for the third brake light - more like one from the main cluster..... Richard:)
  7. I've had the R12 drop-in replacement done by JeffTT; it works fine! Richard:cool:
  8. No - it's probably the injector cleaner being burned off. IIRC one of the major ingredients in injector cleaners is parafin (or kerosene in the USA). That, along with the gunk it's supposedly cleaned from your internals;), is probably causing the smoke. It will do the same if you clean the throttle bodies with carb cleaner - until all the crap has been burnt away in the combustion chambers. Richard:cool:
  9. Not all cars have front fogs mate - they are not a legal requirement. Only a rear fog is mandatory in the EC.... In general HIDs are legal - how come most top line Audis BMWs andMercs have them - of course OEM fitments are! But for the retro fit market it's a little grey. If you fit an H4 converstion to an every day car then I doubt you'd get away with it. But fitting an HID kit inside a projector beam would probably go unnoticed. Generally though, if you have adjustable headlight levelling and washing, then an HID conversion would also pass muster. I fitted a conversion to my red ZX 5 years ago and never had any MOT problems whilst it was in situ.... Richard:cool:
  10. I made a mexican chilli chicken - fresh of course, no pre-prepped rubbish - with rice and a side of tortilla chips, salsa and melted cheese. Washed down with a couple of Coronas and a bottle of sauvignon Richard:)
  11. I have to agree Brian......... ......for a few years now we have been spared from them. But this year they are definitely back:cry: b@stards:x: Richard:mac1:
  12. Many happy returns mate:hyper: Richard:cool:
  13. Why thank you sir:D Richard:)
  14. I picked my Z up from Z-world this morning following a cam belt change; new a/c condenser & re-gas; oil & filter change; new horn; new oil pressure sender unit and a quick ConZult...... .......Well all I can say is that Jeff & co have the magic touch on Zs - the car seemed smoother and quicker during the 100+ mile drive home!! Thanks buddy - and for the lift from the station; not to mention squeezing my car in before my hols AND finishing it early!! Richard:)
  15. I have to say that KITT gets my vote too:bow: Richard:cool:
  16. That's just the kind of think that makes this club great. Nice one! And for the feedback, in the left hand panel below your user name, avatar etc, there are a series of small icons at the bottom of each person's box. There's one with a small yellow certificate type thing. Just click on that (in the appropriate person's post) and you'll see what to do;) It's the one to the left of the little red Z (which links you to that persons ride details)...... Richard:cool::nana2:
  17. Definitely:bow: Richard:D;)
  18. Seconded....... ......I'm collecting mine from Jeff's tomorrow. Can't wait to get it back:dance: Richard:)
  19. Agreed. Never watched it and never will. It's about time all reality show shite was dropped from TV and some decent programs aired. Richard:tongue:
  20. I reckon so Si:bow: Back on topic.......;) I paid £4400 for my red ZX back in June 2003 - an H reg UK spec auto with 63k miles; loads of history etc. Now sold to Pistol Pete...... I paid £3200 for my blue ZX - a very nice, tidy, fully loaded L reg UK spec auto with only 70k miles. I've been buying a fair few things for it since, though......It won't be long before I'm as attached to that as I was with the red one. Richard:cool:
  21. I know - I won't forget that mini-bus full of girl students waving at us....... .......or wasting that GTO on the test-drive:rofl: Richard:)
  22. Worth it though....... ......although you could have bought than NSX you promised yourself.....:D Richard:)
  23. Nice one Vinz - the phase II pics are definately better........ Richard:)
  24. I had a similar problem with American Express once. I have a direct debit arrangement to pay the whole balance on the final due date each month. A couple of months back, I noticed they had charged me a fortune in interest and late payment fees! Since I pay the whole balance (or at least I believed so) I was a bit pissed off and phoned them to complain. It turns out THEY were late in taking the payment and had the cheek to charge me!!! Now I was already angry at having to go through their stupid automated phone answering system - 10 minutes to get THE OPTION to speak with a live person. The last thing I wanted was a patronizing git on the other end of the phone telling me to make sure I paid it 2 days earlier next time!!!! What - it was their fault FFS:xxx: I have come to the conclusion that all banks are scum - with the exception of First Direct. I'm happy to bank with them; customer service is spot on and their product/package range is excellent. And their off-set mortgage has saved me a fortune in interest plus; I'm paying it off faster than I reckon I could elsewhere..... Richard:)
  25. Sorry to hear you're unwell Si. I hope you get it sorted ASAP mate. Speak to you soon, Richard:)
