trying to find a song
Me too! In Scandinavia they have this for half the year but they just get on with it. Plus it gets a lot colder there too!! I have to say though, that in the north, you guys seem to get on with life as usual as well. It's just south of Birmingham that the country seems to stop. When I left York on Tuesday there was a foot of snow on the ground and no-one cared a jot. But once I got home (to a light dusting no more than an inch thick), it was a different story. Richard:oops:

trying to find a song
I love the snow as well - but I'm glad the roads here are clear now. We're off down to Bath in the morning to visit their Christmas market. As it's 100 miles away, I want to take my Z out for a run - can't really do that in the snow!! Plus I don't really want to spend all day on the M4.......:clown:

You know christmas is coming when..
I have to say my favourite Christmas singles are (not necessarily in order of preference): The Pogues - Fairytale of New York Greg Lake - I Believe in Father Christmas Slade - So Here it is Merry Christmas Wizzard - I Wish it Could BE Christmas every day Chris Rea - Driving Home for Christmas Wham - Last Christmas Broooooce - Santa Claus is Coming to Town And at this time of year, I can even tollerate a bit of Sir Cliff....... But I HATE: Band Aid - it just pisses me off Wings - Simply Having a Wonderful Christmas Time. Simply annoying:cursing: Mariah - All I Want for christmas (fekking DFS advert. Although Mariah - I would!!!:tt2:) Richard:donatello:

Sounds a good buy Jane! That's nice and sensible and it should see you well through university. Being a Toyota it should never go wrong either. Plus you'll really appreciate it when you eventually get another ZX. Good luck with it!! Richard:thumbup1:

Cheers Jane - we sure did! Fortunately our plans weren't really affected by the snow.... LOL - that was just after breakfast and no-one else had been brave enough to venture out!! It's Middlethorpe Hall - a hotel owned by the National Trust. I can highly recommend it if you're wanting to stay in York!! http://www.middlethorpe.com Richard:cool2:

**£%%^^&* ing SNOW!
At least you got back safely though mate!! I drove home from York earlier today and I reckon the news must have put a lot of people off driving. Luckily the M1 was clear as a bell all the way down and we managed to get home in under 3 hours!! That can be a challenge on a normal dry day; if the M1 is as busy as usual....:clown: Richard:ninja:

A couple of snow pics.....
We've just got back from a short break in York and it was quite snowy up there. It wasn't too bad Saturday; just a light dusting (an inch or 2) but Sunday afternoon saw a heavy falling of the white stuff. The last 2 days weren't so bad though; it was just a bit chilly... .....Here's a few pics taken around our hotel..... Luckily we took Julia's Rav and not the Z....!!! Richard:biggrin:

Still no snow
I've been in York for the last few days and there was snow alright!! Still, we got home safely today - and surprisingly quickly considering the doom and gloom spouted out on the news. A64 and A1/M1 were all clear. I reckon most people stayed off work as there was noticably less traffic that I would have expected. We have got a light dusting here at the moment though......
