Glad you are OK mate - that could have been nasty..... .....I mean you could have lost the whole 4-pack!! Seriously though - I am pleased you are not injured - and the ZX was not damaged by another vehicle. And I won't mention Brian Harvey a few years back.......:tt2: Richard:chef:

Big wheels on a zed
Personally I'd stick with 18s..... ......19s will be fine with the necessary tyre profile adjustmsnts to compensate; but 18s will be the best compromise in handling and comfort. Plus a 300zx will have a voracious appetite for rear tyres and 18s will cost less to replace than 19s! I know that there are a few very good "budget" priced tyres out there (Falkens consistently get good reviews here) but I personally prefer to stick with premium brands (IE Goodyear/Continental/Dunlop SP9000) and the price difference of those from 18 to 19 inch can vary a hell of a lot!!! standard rear spoiler
Good point Vijay!! I was thinking the same thing - when I bought my first ZX I had the original spoiler resprayed (as I hadn't found this place first). But a year or so later it needed replacing as it had once more become waterlogged! So I wasted my money on the original paint job - I should have just done the fibreglass replacement. Get in touch with Car Mad in the traders section - he does a mighty fine replica. Richard:sorcerer:

Stella?
I couldn't agree more jimmer - and I disliked here more and more as the series unravelled. I was more impressed with Chris in this episode and I thought it a shame that he didn't win. I also liked Liz and thought she would have been a strong condender had she not been fired in place of Stuart. However I do not feel Stuart pulled the wool over Alan's eyes. Stuart was the series arsehole (they all have one) and keeping him in longer than necessary was purely for the TV ratings..... .....Plus it gave Lord Sugar the opportunity to say he was full of shit and make a big deal about firing him; as the firings seemed a bit "tame" this series!! Also is it just me, or does anyone else think that Stella was being set up as the winner from the start? Watching the flashback clips, it seemed that everything she did was only viewed positively compared to the other contestants. (I refuse to say candidates, as it is really just a game show and not a "proper" job interview process - whoever wins is only going to be given a "token" position). I mean, even when Stella did something completely stupid it seemed to be brushed aside in the board-room.........:detective: Richard:cowboy:

Just been out for a drive.....
.....in the snow!! What fun; and nice that most of the roads were empty this afternoon. I tried keeping to the small rural lanes and avoid the main roads as they were full of abandoned cars. Or those mistaken in the belief that their ordinary car could get up a long steep hill when even the odd 4x4 could be seen struggling. Here's a couple of phone pics of my drive, road and garden...... Zedworld xmas bash cancelled
It is indeed a shame but Jeff, you're definitely right to cancel it mate!! I've just been out for a drive and even the main roads round here are treacherous. I tried to get into High Wycombe and have do negotiate a long steep hill (Cryer's Hill for those local to me). Whilst I could (just!) do it in the Rav, I could not believe that anyone without a 4x4 even bothered. Guys and gals in their Mondeos and Astras etc just got stuck and were sliding/spinning across both carriageways - it was clear that no-one in a normal car could get up, yet they still tried. And ended up blocking the road for everyone:angry: However the 5th of February sounds a good idea Jeff. I look forward to seeing everyone in the New Year. So I wish a very merry Christmas to Jeff, Lynda and Jamie. See you then!! Richard:thumbup:

475 miles on 96 zed!
Neither! For £42k I'd just keep my ZX as a classic and buy a second hand Vantage! Richard:tt2:

Whats your MPG!!
One has to remember that the basic engine design predates the car itself. Whilst the Z32 was conceived over 20 years ago, the engine was based on that used in the previous incarnation - the Z31. Sure it was fettled a bit to bring it in line with the standards of the day; but add 2 turbos and it will drink faster than a medical student at happy hour in the union bar!! Modern engines have come on in leaps and bounds with economy - you only have to look at the latest German machinery to see that. The bigger, powerful BMW and Merc petrol engines are prime examples of how things have improved over the years. The 3.5 litre in my SLK churns out 305bhp but the car can still average 28mpg with very "spirited" driving! Back in 1990-1995 your top of the range 2 litre petrol sports family car (eg Cavalier SRi or Mondeo Si et all) would barely top that average; with equal "spirited" driving! I remember having a 6 month old Cav SRi back in 1991 and being quite chuffed to see 30mpg....... It's just progress! In another 10 years, we may still probably still be driving cars that run on fossil fuels; however the engines will be more powerful litre for litre but will run on even less fuel. Maybe:online2long: Richard:yes:
