  1. Welcome to the club Garry! Richard:thumbup:
  2. Very nice mate - that looks just my kind of hotel!! We will definitely be visiting you in 2011; whether it's March or late-November. Last time we visited Ludlow there was a mediaeval Christmas festival going on in the castle. I've added your page to my favourites and I'll be in touch! Thanks for the link, Richard:cool3:
  3. LOL - no; still way over my head mate........:whistling: Richard:confused1::cool3:
  4. Should that be "Still" own a Z32 Steve.....:winkiss: Also it's good to see that a lot of the "old masters" are still around and posting regularly!! Richard:cool3:
  5. Welcome to the club Nettie..... ......and ignore the comments about UK spec cars! Sure there are a lot of rusty ones knocking about. But there are also some very nice rust free examples too (like mine:tt2:). Plus after being used on the UK's roads for 10 years a J-spec may not necessarily be in better shape that a UK one :whistling: Richard:cool3:
  6. Great story Kev!! (I assume that's your name mate!!) And just the first one adventure of many with your 300zx - enjoy it!! Richard:chef:
  7. Nice one Lee - hope you have a great time mate!! Richard:thumbup:

  12. 'Tis indeed a sad sight John..... .....but on the upside your ZX's demise has helped a few more cars to live on (a bit like carrying a donor card, I guess)..... .....and hopefully you'll soon be in another mate. Richard:cool2:
  13. I'll sell you mine for £250..........:innocent: Richard:angel:
  14. Very nice...... .....now if they were in 18 inch I'd snap them up!! Don't really want to go to 19s... Richard:cool2:
  15. A Christmas Eve bump....... ......have a good one everybody!! Richard:santa:
  16. All sorted now. I managed to find another hotel for the main New Year period and then booked the last 3 nights in Boscastle as usual - with a nice discount.:sweatdrop: Hmmm, Ludlow? It's been a long while since we were last there (stayed at The Feathers last time); so maybe for our March trip! Please can I have details of your hotel mate? Cheers, Richard:cool2:
  17. I did thanks mate - they're virtually the same price. However I have just found that Kwak Fart (if booked online) are cheaper! It's still absurd though - I know everything is going up in price; but that kind of percentage increase is staggering!! Richard:blink:
  18. Thanks for the support fellas - I'm going to call them again now to try and salvage something from it..... LOL - if I said that I'd give the hotel's name away as it's the only real hotel there....... ......but it's Boscastle!! Richard:whistling::death:
  19. Julia and I are off to Cornwall next Thursday - at least I thought we were. When leaving the hotel last January, I booked a week in June and another 5 days from 30th December. I double checked next week's booking when paying my bill in June and all was well. But tonight, I gave the hotel a call to see it we could arrive a day early as Julia is also off next week, only to find they have somehow lost my reservation:angry: Apparently the hotel is now full as they "changed their computer system" recently and since my booking was not also supported by a written record it did not get carried over so they've booked my room to someone else. To say I'm extremely angry is an understatement; we've visited the same hotel twice a year for a number of years and spend thousands there each year. And as we're regulars we always booked on mutual trust - ie no deposit from me. Plus I was suppposed to be getting a call back this evening - I called before 7 - yet still I have heard nothing. Poor customer service; especially considering the hotel changes hands early next year. I reckon the new owners would not be happy about losing a big spending regular customer:cursing: Now I guess I have to trawl the internet tomorrow and look for a suitable alternative. At short notice. Over a peak holiday. Richard:thumbdown:
  20. Anyone else noticed how tyre prices have shot up loads over the last couple of months? Only 2 months ago I noticed one of the tyres on Julia's Rav was getting a bit low but my garage said it was perfectly fine for a couple of thousand miles. Back then a replacement was just under £100 (Bridgestone Dueller 235/60/16). Now that the snow has arrived I was thinking about replacing it (plus one other) sooner, before the VAT increase next month. Suddenly the price is up at £116 to £121 from the same online mobile fitters! I also checked Event Tyres and E-tyres prices for a pair of Goodyears for the ZX. Last year I bought the 265/35/18 Asymetrics for £176 each; now they are £205!! Luckily they are not worn out. Yet!! I'm not looking for a cheaper brand; but I thought that the percentage increases were extortionate!! Richard:oops:
  21. Or a sensor misbehaving if it has gotten wet and the snow/water has since frozen around it. I have had this happen on other cars (ABS light that is) when they have sat for a week or more in the snow. After a bit of driving, once the car had properly warmed up the light went out. Not had it on my ZX though.... Richard:thumbup1:
  22. We're discussing this in the Committee forum at the moment; one of us will be in touch shortly! Richard:cowboy:
  23. Sure was when it's this cold!! Although on many a sunny (albeit cold) winter's day I have been known to drop the roof...... .....but I put the heated seats and head-rest "air-scarf" blowers on full blast to ward off the cold:smartass: Richard:santa:
  24. LOL - no way Gary!! The risk of shrinkage and the accessibility of the world wide web - not a wise combination!!! Richard:blush::laugh:
  25. On Monday morning it was -14 when I left home; that's the coldest I have seen it..... ......I believe that Chesham was the coldest place in England on Sunday night at -18 or thereabouts. I only live 4 miles from Cheshamso it's no surprise it was so cold the next day. It's been a nice toastie -1 to 0 the last two days; I reckon I'll be out in my shorts this afternoon:lol: Richard:thumbup1:
