  1. Nice to have met you Anthony - and a real shame you have parted with your Zed..... All the best - and don't be a stranger mate 😉
  2. Definitely get it to Jimmer for a second opinion..... Unless the Nissan Mandela actually knows anything about our cars (and very few even know what they are nowadays), then I wouldn't trust their prognosis! A fair few years ago - still in my red Zed, so well before 2009 - I had an issue on hols where the car kept dropping into safety boost. I pulled into Nissan of Bodmin, whereby the technician tried to convince me that the turbos were sequential "like the Supra and GTR." I argued with him for ages, saying that they spooled up together, because there's one per bank, so something other than one turbo failing, therefore preventing the other spinning, was causing it to go into safety boost. It was only when I mentioned that I helped run the owners club and know a fair bit about the Z32, that he admitted they no longer had the necessary diagnostics to run a proper test LOL FYI, it turned out that due to the hot weather, and that I had filled with inferior quality petrol at a dodgy remote garage a couple of days earlier, the engine was knocking. A quick refill with quality branded super UL solved the problem 😄 Shows what little Mandelas knew about the Z32 14 years ago, so I would have absolutely no faith in what they know now - seeing as few of their techies were even born when these cars stopped being sold here 😉
  3. I guess the "bargain" bit is relative to other classic/modern classic cars whose values have risen to stratospheric levels..... DB5? At least £600k for a useable example. Hell, even the humble Sierra Cosworth - which no that long ago couldn't be given away for various reasons - can now fetch in the region of £100k (ignoring THAT one a few months back 😉 ).
  4. .....check out number 29 40 bargain classic cars for sale now (msn.com)
  5. Hi and welcome back Graeme - and good luck with the recommissioning project mate...... 🙂
  6. Hi and welcome to the club Sean!
  7. Whilst my Zed-knowledge isn't bad - it's not in the same league as (say) AndrewG, but I thought all Z32s came with central locking??
  8. Nice one guys - and 7 zeds....? Best one of 2023 so far...!!!
  9. Yup - that's my plan..... With the Ford Nationals, parking together may not be easy for late comers - but if a few of us get there early, we can commandeer an area just for us. I'm only 40-odd mins down the M40, so will be heading up Sunday morning. I'm aiming to join the m40 at j5 around 8.15, if anyone wants to meet me there and run up together. It's also a good refuelling spot too as there's a Shell garage a few hundred meters (towards Wycombe - in Stokenchurch) from the exit 😉
  10. Today I replaced my coolant temperature gauge sensor.... Whilst using my Zed last week on hols in Cornwall, I noticed the temp gauge was showing some random scary high readings, but it never felt overly hot under the bonnet. There were no obvious signs of overheating and the oil pressure remained spot on. I also noticed it would read 1/4 on the gauge at cold start, when the car had bee unused for a day. A few texts to Sir Jimmer ensued and I took a small detour to his place on the way home yesterday - so handy he is just off J18 of the M4 😉 Jim concurred it did not seem overly hot, despite the gauge reading - and the ambient temperature at noon yesterday - so I parted with the new sensor. I turned on the ignition first thing this morning and yes, it read 1/4 warm.... New sensor fitted, it returned to zero. Happy days! And a very big thanks, once again, to Jimmer. We'd be lost without him!!!
  11. A belated happy birthday Mike!! Hope all is well on Sark..... 🙂 Richard🧁
  12. Good day folks, I am pleased to announce that The Club has once again been accepted to exhibit at the NEC Classic Motor Show this November. Classic Motor Show | NEC Birmingham (necclassicmotorshow.com) It runs from Friday 10th November to Sunday 12th November..... Our stand in in hall 4 this year - number 4-595; it's 6m x 10.5m, so we can accommodate 3 cars comfortably or 4 at a squeeze; the exact plans to be determined nearer the time. But for now, I am looking for volunteers to exhibit. It's always a great show and you'll get to have your car on display to thousands of visitors - but it's a full-on weekend. You have to deliver your car there at a fixed time on the Thursday morning, the day before, and you won't get to leave until late Sunday evening after all the visitors have departed. Ideally, we'd like you to remain there and help man the stand for the duration - but shifts can be organised, just like we did last year..... I appreciate it is a big commitment - but you will have the privilege of exhibiting your Zed on the world stage, in one of the very best classic car shows of the year - and everyone who has exhibited, has thoroughly enjoyed the experience! We are still debating on whether the club will fully fund accommodation costs this year, but for now, we need volunteers..... If you are interested in exhibiting your car, please register your interest in this thread. We need 3 cars, plus one in reserve. Once we have enough interest, we'll put it to the vote in order to select the top 4 and go from there - BTW, this will be a key topic at the AGM in a couple of weeks.... 😉 Ideally, we'd like to represent each style on the stand - LWB, SWB, convertible or modified.... But ultimately it's the members' choice - providing we get the volunteers! Thanks for your support, Richard
  13. Nope - never heard of either of those mods for a Z32.......😐
  14. Nice one Tom - thanks for confirming 🙂
  15. LOL - no worries mate.... Just kidding 😉 We're still going to come long though, as you say, a nice opportunity for another weekend away 🙂
  16. LOL - sad but true 😄 Come on folks - we're barely 3 weeks away...... Need to get this on the Fb pages methinks 😉
  17. Hi Lee - and welcome to the club.....! I thought I recognised that Zed - and Joel has kindly reminded me of it's previous life on here. Nice work mate, and good luck with your new toy. Hope to see it in the metal sometime 😉 Richard
  18. Unfortunately not - we don't have enough confirmed booking numbers to get a discount, so I left it...... Probably for the best, seeing as we have had a couple of people bail out of the Saturday night. Including me; I'll definitely attend the AGM, but as we're barely 45 minutes away down the M40, Julia and I will drive up first thing Sunday morning. I want to get there around 9, to stake a claim on some parking spaces for us all 😉
  19. That's even worse!! Granted, there may have been a few more parts doing the rounds for us, but some of those cars could probably have been saved...... 😞
  20. Yup - what he said...... 😞
  21. A sad loss to music - RIP Tina.... 😞 A truly great performer, I am so pleased that I saw her live at Woburn in the early 1990s; she was a real Rock N Roll legend.
  22. LOL - he just said he bought the signs in, and wasn't responsible for any photography etc 😄
