Rattling her tits off!!
PMSL - to be fair, Julia does tell me straight away if she thinks there's something wrong with her car (which I bought BTW:wink:)...... A few years back, she came in from work to tell me that there was a "funny orange light" on the dash that had come on during her drive home. Fearing the engine light, I went out only to find nothing at all.... Anyway when it happened again a few days later, she left the car running and called me out to have a look - it turned out to be the rear fog lamp indictor; she had accidentally switched on the rear fogs with her knee. "Oh!" she said, "No wonder everyone behind was flashing!!!" Pity she forgets to mention when she has driven too close to the grass banks and hedges though - leaving me to curse and swear when I have to polish out yet another scratch..... Richard:oops:

Yup - definitely in the above pic.... But browsing through the build progress pictures, it did look like they had at least one Z32 headlamp to work with:wink:

Decision to remove veilside kit and return to Original......
Agreed - although my choices are the OEM '89 or '99 spec spoilers. Or the CarMad replicas of course.....

Wheels from 350z
They look very similar to my aftermarket wheels - as Si says, they "should" still fit the Z32 but regarding tyre sizes, I have 235/40/18 front and 265/35/18 rears..... Can't remember the width and offset of my own wheels though...

Happy Birthday mark300zx
Many happy returns Mark - have a great day mate! Richard:cool:

Time to fit the miesters. Anything else I should know
Hopefully you will have purchased the adjuster extension cables for the rears - so you'll have to drill holes in your boot trim for the little dials to protrude through...... .....Probably the simplest part of fitting the kit; but a bummer if you didn't buy them, as you'll not be able to adjust the rear damping without removing all the boot trim:wink: And after you have done it, go and have a full 4 wheel alignment set up done. Then enjoy the car even more! Richard:cool:

Bargain!
I don't doubt it Steve..... After all, following the "gentlemen's agreement" back in the 1990s, what Nissan quoted and what some of their cars really put out in BHP were rather different!! R34 being only 280bhp for starters.... Yeah, right:rofl: Richard:wink:

PMSL - looks like they used 300zx headlamps though....

Yes and yes..... And I also kind of agree in keeping your current Z and spending the money on it. For starters, you never know how long yours will take to sell - or what you will eventually get for it. Plus you also know the car and what you have done to it over the years - compared to buying an unknown Z which might end up costing you £££s to put right before you start on changing colours, personalising it to suit your own little tastes etc.... Go for it! And silver is good - for a bit of a different shade on a Z, how about Mercedes Palladium silver...? It's slightly darker than normal silver, but not as dark as gun-metal grey. Plus it polishes up nicely and does not show the dirt.... Richard:cool:

Bargain!
Hmmmm - although according to Nissan's literature (for the UK series 2, anyway) the auto is quoted as being only 263bhp. Smaller turbos spool up quicker to compensate for the auto-box; so as not to compromise on performance. And it is said that the auto is a few 10ths down on the manual to 60 - although it is a few 10ths quicker to 100..... Not my words, though... You're dead right Dave - and sadly dead right again mate; they "don't!" That car is ideal for you mate - and I certainly hope it finds such a caring owner as you would be. It's a piece of 300zx history in the making.....!! Richard:cool:

newbie midlands
Welcome to the forum Paul; good luck in your search for a 300zx mate - there are a few nice, well cared for cars for sale on here at the moment. My personal choice would always be the TT model as I like the effortless power. However don't rule out the NA - especially the SWB slicktop in manual...!! As for MPG; it's a 1990s 3.0 v6 - so you'll get nothing like the economy a modern equivalent engine would turn. And on your daily 12 mile round commute, you'll most likely not notice any difference between the TT or NA when it comes to fuel cost - and if you expect anywhere between 18 and 22mpg average, you'll not be disappointed when you have to fill up! Yes, some folks have seen 26mpg and above - but that is pretty exceptional TBH; and only achieved on a good long distance run. Me? I have a bit of a heavy right foot, so I have seen nowhere near that... Richard:cool:

This stuff is awesome!
I was thinking that too - mainly because everything in that clip threated with the stuff has a different, opaque kind of hue over it..... So would it ruin the nice shiny finish of a car's paintwork, I wonder? I like the idea of using it as underseal though...... Richard:cool:

Rattling her tits off!!
PMSL - the good old company car; no matter what it is, it's still almost the fastest and most dependable car in the world - no matter which waning light comes on, the car will soldier on for many many miles withough breaking.... ......And I say "almost" because the fastest, most dependable car in the world is the rental/hire car....

Missing my Z!
I left my ZX SORNd for January - but stuck a year's RFL on it last weekend. And drove it on Sunday as it was a nice dry day.... And good luck to all you guys at potential risk of flooding.... Richard:clover:

Bargain!
Yup - a real beauty for sure.... I'd certainly snap that up today if I was looking to buy another Z..... It has been up for sale before - and as Si says, the advert explains it all. Plus it is not the only 300zx that KGF has sold in the last year - I had some contact with one of their sales team last year about another one they had and posted a link to it on here. This one was also linked last year - who knows, maybe Mr Perrin will decide that he'd like the car back after selling it to the original owner. Either way, I hope that whoever buys it, treats it properly (someone like our very own Gio would be the ideal owner:wink:). Auto or not, a straight, low mileage unmolested UK spec car in that condition will only gain value in the long term as the Z32 becomes more rare and (hopefully) attains a true classic status. best option for a role cage
Unless you're racing, my opinion is "don't!!" Despite the apparent safety benefits, there's really no need for road use Dan. Plus it spoils the whole concept of a fast, comfortable GT car; having what is effectively a tonne of scaffold in the car.... Just my personal opinion though mate - it's your car after all! Richard:flowers:

Another Insurance Thread
Ditto - this year that is! I always used Lynbrooks, Carol Nash or Lancaster; but as I have my DD and Julia's car on an Admiral Multicar policy, adding the ZX this year knocked £££s off cover for the 2 main vehicles and they were happy with the (albeit minor) modifications I have done to the Z!
