  1. I agree Dan...... And I also want to recognise those pioneering machines that did their inventors/designers proud. From Richard Trevithick's "Catch Me Who Can" locomotive of 1808.... ......Stephenson's Rocket of 1829....... .....Through to Sir Nigel Gresley's "Mallard" which conquered the rails in 1938 And in the world of aviation, The Wright Brothers' flying machines of the early 1900s .....Through to Concord and the Harrier Jump Jet..... Then on the road, the original Daimler-Benz of 1886, which started it all..... .....Through to the Bugatti Veyron. They are all awesome machines and I am hard pressed to chose a favourite....
  2. Happy birthday Chris - and good to see you're still around mate!! Richard:happybday:
  3. I know Dan..... Way of the world at the moment, I fear..... Apparently "people" want smaller, more economical, engines instead of CCs, cylinders and BHP..... Who are these "people".....????
  4. Many happy returns mate! Richard:happybday:
  5. ...Ditto...... ....And me.... Although I do like the NSX (quite a lot), they only look good from the front, or front quarter until about half way back. It's an awesome car, but the back end is waaaay too long. Ferrari and Lamborghini can make a mid-engine car look in perfect proportion, why couldn't Honda..? Richard:cool:
  6. Yup - I agree..... Except for the RX, that red one just doesn't do it for me. Although a stock RX in black would look better, it's still a little dated now. 300zx all the way....
  7. Seconded - yet another nice looking Zed....
  8. Seconded - lovely looking Zed you have there Chris....
  9. Happy birthday Good Sir.....:happybday: Richard:thumbup:
  10. Many happy returns mate! Richard:happybday:
  11. That's the best one - the only one, in fact, that matters......
  12. Yup - I concur with the Funky one and Sir Benny of Hill...........:lol:
  13. Ahem..... But yes; another weekend is upon us. Hell where are the days going, it's like yesterday was only Monday....??
  14. I think it is a good idea - although buying new OEM Nissan items like exhausts and suspension will probably run into £000's more than updated parts... And like Funky Si says in another thread, it's the OEM - or as close to OEM - cars that will fetch the big bucks as time marches on. So it could prove a sound investment! If you have the space and the funds, then do it....
  15. We thought it was so off topic, what with this being a car forum and all, that someone might complain.......:whistling: .....No, not really...... It was an administrative error, which was spotted and dutifully corrected....
  16. What he said........ And a belated happy birthday mate!! Richard:thumbup:
  17. Very nice Steve - I'm not into bikes either, but that looks pretty cool. Good luck with your new toy.... Richard:clover:
  18. As said in the other thread - a sad loss indeed.... RIP Martin, my thoughts are with your family.
  19. This is very sad news indeed and my thoughts are with his family at this time. RIP Martin, you will be missed mate.... Richard:sad:
  20. Interesting........ ......And whilst I'll not forget the huge queues and traffic chaos around CC - there's no guarantee that will not be repeated around Silverstone. However I suspect the new venue will be easier to enter and exit; it is, after all, home to the British GP etc. I might actually persuaded to attend in 2016....
  21. Many happy returns mate! Richard:happybday:
  22. Exactly - irrespective of the law, it cannot be dangerous or else it would not be legal in a civilised European country like Germany..... ......That aside though, it's just (currently) scaremongering that these "new" cameras are set to catch everyone exceeding 70mph. They are not - They are not always switched on when no lower limit is posted - and even if/when they are, they are certainly not set at 70mph. I'm not going to bang on about the old "10% plus 2" either - nor the less well-touted adage of the "85th percentile" rule.... Whereby the safest speed on any road is "the speed at which 85% of the traffic travels." But I can say with (ahem) a degree of certainty that someone I know very well, has passed a multitude of such cameras in recent days/weeks/months at (a GPS verified) 85mph; and has not seen a single flash or received a single NIP. Granted, that same someone did get flashed on Christmas Day 2014, on the M25 near the Holmesdale Tunnel at well over 90mph - yet no NIP materialised.... But my point is, thus far, police forces and governments are still exercising common sense in enforcing motorway speed limits. I said thus far - it may change in the future - but let's not get carried away by everything we read in the press/online; or hear in the pub.....
  23. Many happy returns Gary - and the one "happy birthday" thread you're guaranteed not to start..... Hope you have a great day my friend - and that June spoils you rotten.... Enjoy...:happybday::pint: Richard:thumbup:
  24. Happy birthday Jeff - hope all is well in your world mate!! Richard:happybday::thumbup:
  25. Happy St Andrew's Day for yesterday folks!! Richard:thumbup:
