  1. LOL - what he said.... Hope you and Nikk have a great time though mate, whatever the weather....:clover:
  2. LOL - that's because you are old Steve.... ....And welcome back mate, good to see you're still kicking around.....
  3. Both good points there - modern cars' brakes often have a distinct "instantaneous" feel about them, even if they don't actually shed MPH as quickly as their "feel" suggests. Particularly small hatchbacks. And Si has a good point - the servo and MC on a Zed will, unless they have been replaced for new or refurbed, will most likely be a contributing factor. Again in comparison to the modern hatchback; upon which the brakes are possibly over-servo'd; which does not necessarily equate to better stopping distances, despite the "feel."
  4. Great to see you back Craig.....! .....And also great to Daz's car has gone to a good home... Have to catch up again sometime mate; albeit I no longer work in Aylesbury, I still live in Great Missenden....
  5. Standard brakes are frightening if they are past their best - as most will be now, after years of hauling a 1.5 tonne, 155mph car to a halt! If the stock set up is working 100%, then it's not scary at all. Ask PhilP; I drove his "collectors Zed" before he bought it - 11k miles from new and the brakes worked every bit as good as the then-new SLK350 I had at the time..... I have refurbed (by Bigg Redd) OEM calipers and Brembo discs and they work fine; however I still like the idea of that 350z front upgrade Steve and Pete mentioned above. And yes, I do see that might sound a bit hypocritical, given what I have just said.....
  6. Great news mate - I am pleased for you.... I am certainly pleased that Jeff fixed my AC before heading off to the sun; it's an essential feature for maintaining comfort nowadays - and no self-respecting GT car should be without it...
  7. Nothing wrong with 18s on a LWB..... To be honest mate, I loved your Zed when I saw it at Coventry - however those TSWs didn't quite finish it off as good as a nice deep dish rim would have done! So I certainly endorse your intended change; Gary's wheels do indeed suit a ZX - as do the ones for sale that Si mentioned.... And those in Andy's picture!
  8. Yup - ditto..... .....And a shame I could not be there:sad: I dropped my Zed off at the body-work guy next to Jimmer's on Saturday; and, whilst I still could have probably dropped by, it just was not going to be the same without my Zed.....!
  9. Makes complete sense Pete......
  10. You've treated yourself to a Ferrari, then Si..... ......Hope to see it in Bristol tomorrow, matey...
  11. So sorry to hear that Trish - my thoughts are with you and may Bill rest in peace.... Just two weeks ago, as Julia and I were driving up to Coventry, we were thinking about who might be at the hotel that evening - and you both came into our minds in an instant. Julia and I wish you all the best Trish; and we are all right here for you at this sad time. Richard:flowers:
  12. Many happy returns Russ - hope you have a great day mate!! Richard:happybday:
  13. Will do indeed Andy..... My Zed is off for some bodywork repairs this weekend, but as soon as I get it back, they will be fitted!!
  14. As title - a big thanks to Andy Marsh.... These arrived today.... https://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?183149-The-Great-Indicator-Sale&p=1894630&viewfull=1#post1894630 .....very well packed to protect against any mishaps in the post. And then when I opened the parcel, I was even more impressed with the lights - very well finished indeed and a veritable bargain to boot... I reckon they're the perfect replacement for my OEM UK spec blanks:cool: Cheers Andy:sorcerer:
  15. My space is up for grabs..... I'm dropping my Zed off at Jimmer's neighbouring body-work guy on Saturday, so will be Zedless for a couple of weeks... I might still pop down though, but will not be exhibiting on the club stand. Richard:cool:
  16. Nice work mate...... .....Although I'd not be so worried about the camera obscuring the number plate - more so that camera remaining dirt-free for over 10 minutes, come the winter...
  17. Whilst he's not as active as in the past, I'd still contact Mike at MJP....
  18. So's mine..... .....No photo though; it's a little dirty after (ahem) three weeks of use....
  19. Great pics Gaz - and your car is looking awesome, as usual........ I liked the white 944 in one of their own pictures; I have to say, the old Porsches are looking good again...
  20. LOL - but that's exactly what I'd do if I bought it for £5k....
  21. Rears are 6x4 - pretty common size, I believe. Fronts - I can't remember, but there direct replacements that require no cutting or fettling. Just be sure that they are not too deep... I bought a set of Hertz speakers to replace the OEM fronts and JBL rears. They were not as cheap as some brands, but I am pretty happy with them. The rears are certainly better than the JBLs
  22. You are right Lee....! I will be putting up the minutes later today - and we'll be posting the relevant polls deriving from that over the next few days, once everyone has had the chance to read the minutes! As JaiKai says above, things are still under review, pending votes etc... However we are also using this time to experiment with the new ideas, in order to see how practical they will be to implement. Please bear with us...
  23. Sorry you couldn't make it this time Andy - would have been good to see you there mate! Maybe next time, eh...? Richard:cool:
  24. You're welcome Rolandas - and good to see you there too!! Your awards were well deserved, as the car is looking good.... .....Welcome back to the forum, by the way! Richard:cool:
