What did you do to your zed today?
Glad to see you're recovering mate - especially if you can get to work under your Zed! Is that the fuel tank - if so, check the condition of the straps; tank-side. They can go coarse with the rust and eventually "file" into the tank itself, causing leakage. Happened on both my Zeds!!

Orbital polisher advice
The more the merrier Chris - and I'd be interested in a battery option too. I have no power in my garage, so it would save trailing the extension cable into the street:cool:

New exhaust - possibly....!
Cheers Gary - Just what I was thinking too!! The Mongoose has a nice burble, but isn't too loud. Excellent - thanks for the link Russ. It would mean I can keep quad pipes to retain the OEM+ look

New exhaust - possibly....!
Hi folks, My Mongoose exhaust is beginning to look a little (well) untidy - so after having the Zed resprayed I was thinking of getting a new one. I can't seem to find Mongoose or Scorpion still listing the Z32 fitment though. I see Luke has a cat-back system, but don't really like the "rolled-out" appearance of the tail pipes. That just doesn't suit the Zed IMO. I have found this on Ebay though - looks like the old Japspeed system, just more expensive  https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Catback-Exhaust-System-For-90-95-Nissan-300ZX-Z32-2-2-Seater/283403257363?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160727114228%26meid%3D7c715805e2f8407db6d47ed2d065fad2%26pid%3D100290%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D283403257363%26itm%3D283403257363&_trksid=p2060778.c100290.m3507 Could it be a Manzo, seeing as it's from the US? And do we think it's any good.....??

Orbital polisher advice
I am thinking about investing in an orbital polisher so would welcome some expert advice before buying. For instance, Is it worth having one? Which one should I buy - bearing in mind it won't be used every week? The Dodo Spin Doctor looks good value at around £100...! Thanks, Richard:cool:

Freshly painted slicktop

Bordeaux
yup - it's the 300zx-owners' law.... One question - for you seasoned EU trippers - how does the spare bulb law work with modern cars, which have HID or even LED lighting; where the handbook specifically directs you to have a garage replace the bulb?

Blue smoke
Seconded.... Especially if it wasn't smoking when you last used it.

Happy birthday Ant_300zx

What did you do to your zed today?
Today, once I'd returned from the Saturday Sainsbury's run, I washed and waxed my zed..... It was looking a little dirty after the last few days of driving it... I gave the interior a hoover and wipe down and cleaned the leather with Zymol leather cleaner. I also replaced my rear speakers with some nice new Kicker 6x4s. They drop straight in - and are better than the Hertz speakers I bought about 5 years ago; which in turn were infinitely better than the JBLs I had in prior to that!! So if anyone would like some nice Hertz 6x4 replacement rear speakers. I'll be putting them in the "for sale" section soon:wink: It's back inside the garage now, looking nice and shiny, ready for the next outing:thumbup:

cam belt change
I was thinking he same about my very own Zed last weekend..... I have covered around 25k since Jeff last did mine, but that was August 2012!! …..Which is why I called Jimmer on Saturday - he's the only person I'll ever get to do mine, now that Jeff has retired....

Cruize 18 inch wheels
Hi folks, Now I have fitted my new wheels, I'm selling the old ones.... They are Cruize 190s in silver, 8.5x18 front and 9.5x18 rear. Offsets are et32 front and et35 rear - they go straight on a Z32 with no issues. They come with a full set of wheel nuts, plus locking nuts (and key). They are looking a little scruffy now though and could do with a refurb, so how does £100 sound (collection only please - unless you organise your own courier)? Richard

Z1 Motorsport a Joke!!!
Hi Russ, Bad show indeed mate.... Personally, I'd cancel the order and look for a different spoiler. As nice as some of the Twinz stuff is, I just don't think they're geared up to supply on demand - and their retailing agents should know better... You should have been properly informed before buying, for sure. Good luck in what you decide...:clover:

Happy birthday PaulC
Many happy returns Paul - wherever you are mate.... ….Hope you're well - and get your sorry backside back on here just to visit from time to time... Richard:happybday:

Different turbos - I believe; albeit not 100% certain as I don't profess to be an expert either.... But I lifted this from the Supra forums back when I was a member http://mkiv.supras.org.nz/specs.htm#COMPARISIONS Whole grey area, granted; a bit like all alleged differences between JDM and EU spec cars of the 1990s..... And apologies for the "smart-arse" comment mate; no offence intended!

300ZX Production History - JDM - Series and dates
Sorry - you're the expert all of a sudden are you? UK spec Supra WAS 326bhp; the J-spec was quoted at just 280... although that may be due to the "gentlemen' agreement...." Hence my "parentheses!" And the acceleration of the A90? Horseshit, maybe, as there are more powerful [new] cars posting slower 0-60 times. But as it's not been officially tested by the press yet, let's wait and see. Thing is, a new BMW 430, with just a 2.0 230-ish BHP twin turbo-4 is posting 5.6 zero-62 times; same as a stock Z32 TT.... Maths?? whatever mate, new cars, new engines, new transmissions, they're improving all the time. Do me a favour smart-arse and get over yourself before calling "horseshit!"

New owner
Yup - I agree.... We all know that we need to let the cars idle after a blat; two minutes waiting time is nothing...

Nice surprise
Very nice - thanks for sharing Gary...

Better safe than sorry...
PMSL....

300ZX Production History - JDM - Series and dates
You're right - it's 340-ish bhp vs 326bhp for the old (UK spec) A80. But the performance is feasible; depending on the weight; and it will have a modern 8-speed (BMW) auto as standard...….. …..Which is because it is actually the new BMW Z4 - quite literally! BMW did not wish to waste money developing a replacement to the current, low selling, Z4 (which has been on sale for 11 years); and Toyota could not afford to develop a new Supra. They pooled their resources and build the car together. Apart from the BMW being a roadster and the Supra a coupe, they are essentially the same car. Exactly the same 3.0 TT straight-6 engine and 'box; virtually identical interiors (save for the dials) - all from BMW, so decent quality should be assured. Might be a decent car; especially if you want a BMW, but would not be seen dead driving a BMW....:lol:
