  1. If you do a search you will find loads of people with Clifford alarm problems, and loads of praise for Toad...........go with toad. John
  2. The ones I have seen are a bright red.......very similar to zed red..........maybe they have been resprayed.......but I have never seen an orange GTO John
  3. Mike, But a red GTO is the one I like the most.........they somehow look more stunning than the darker coloured ones. John
  4. Before I bought my zed I was thinking about getting a GTO, but I heard a lot of bad reports about the common failure of the 4 wheel drive boxes, and the £2000 to fix. I do give the GTO 10/10 on exterior styling though. John
  5. Thanks everyone...........Got it back together, and you know what ? Everything works - including the odometer (which is why I took it apart) Doesnt it make you feel good when everything goes right!! Cheers John
  6. Done it Mac..........got it all apart........found why the odometer was not working, motor a bit loose, spiral gear was not contacting the other gear. Now, lets hope it goes back ok. Thanks a bunch. John
  7. Yipeeee........Thanks Mac, I was unclipping those things all along the side, instead of gripping and pushing together the 2 lugs in the middle......The key was when you said "the small lug" Thanks a million, John
  8. Thanks Mac.........I will take another look John
  9. I've opened the clips on the side......(they just seem to fall away and do nothing) but it wont budge.........If I pull any harder I'm afraid I will B****r it up for good. All I want to do is to try and fix the odometer which stopped working last week. John
  10. Trying to remove the instrument cluster, got all screws out, but the darn wiring connectors are tough to remove ....how does the big one to the far right (towards drivers side window) come out....tried everything.....wont budge. John
  11. Thanks Bilky, I will do it now. John
  12. Just getting around to installing the rest of Smithy's blue hoses, where do the one from the overflow near the rad cap go ? Does it thread its way down and up into the bottom of the overflow tube (I dont believe I asked that!) How do you get the thing out to hook up the new stuff. Thanks John
  13. or..........feed criminals feet first very slowly into a Rolls-Royce Trent 800 jet engine, so they can watch their bodies slowly dissapearing like a piece of meat in a meat grinder. John
  14. I agree, the courts are too soft on criminals over here. Do you remember about 7 years ago in Singapore when an American teenager vandalised a few BMW's? He was sentenced to about 50 or 60 floggins with the birch. Political pressure reduced it to about 10 or 15 I think. Birching over there draws blood and causes severe injury, requiring hospitalisation. Now, if they adopted that here crime would definately fall. John
  15. Very classy indeed............one of the best I have seen. John
  16. I dont think you can, just print individual pages though, or you could buy one from Luke@Zedcentre. John
  17. Chopper.........who polished them? Cheers John
  18. To John Dixon from John Dixon What do you mean "soaking at thr rev limit" ?
  19. Thanks everyone, Andy, Problem is I dont know when the 60,000 is up, John
  20. My z runs ok, starts ok and idles at 750rpm, but how can I tell if the spark plugs are not up to scratch? From what I have read, looking at them does not give you any indication due to the fact that they dont deteriorate like normal plugs. I dont know how old they are as they were in the car when I bought it 8 months ago. I have read that you dont ever gap them...is this true ? If it is, then if an inspection reveals that the gap is wider than standard, is that an indication that its time to change them ? Thanks, John
  21. Well, Courtesy did straighten out my order, in error they gave me a tracking number, actually they did not have the part in stock, but they got it in on Sat 28, I still dont have it.........this is not the usual Courtesy service that I have read about? John
  22. Mine has the coolent overflow to the radiator right (passenger side) and washer bottle to the left. John
  23. Yes, wheel alignment is commonly know as tracking, but camber angle should also be checked and adjusted if necessary. Places like Kwik Fit, who advertise as "4 wheel alignment" specialists are a load of cr*p, they say they do 4 wheel alignment, but when you question them, they admit that they cannot adjust the back, they claim they adjust the fronts in relation to the back??? This place in Nottingham have all their calibration certificates on display, they said the 4 corners of the hydraulic lift has to be within 1 mm, otherwise the readings will be inaccurate. Cheers, John
  24. I just had my long overdue 4 wheel alignment done (Ive had the car for 8 months and kept putting it off) - the front was way out, equivalent to about 7mm!!! They did a great job, I watched them do it, sat right next to the car, watched the tv monitor as they made the adjustments, bringing the on screen numbers from the "red" into the "green". They give you a computer printout of the before and after settings. I would highly recommend them to anyone in the Derby-Nottingham area. Their details are: The Alignment Centre Church View Industrial Estate Church Street Old Basford Nottingham 0115-9420843 Cash or cheque only. Cheers John
  25. Andy, None of those numbers in that chart are anything like mine........mines 016236 John
