I could never understand all the fuss about the NSX. 280bhp yeah that is a lot but it must be horrendous costs to get the sort of power a modded zed can get with just £1K.
  3. Yeah, it had 99 spec rear lights and spoiler removed.
  4. I am going to lay mine up for the winter, but I may take it out for a good run if the weather is really good, a definate :nono: Jan/Feb though.
  5. As on a previous thread, when comparing GPS speed with speedo make sure your on a level road or it will be out on the GPS. I know because I have tried it and there are definite discrepancy's between level and flat roads using GPS speed.
  6. Black respray should sort it :)
  7. Sorry yes it does. The hicas light will flash though before you move aswell.
  8. I have got the diagnostic to work, it does take a bit of practice though. Do as this says http://www.ttzd.com/tech/hicas/hicas.html Basicall it's 5 turns left twenty degrees, and 5 rurns right twenty dergees, do it quickly then press brake peddle 5 times, make sure your foot comes off the peddle between presses. You should feel the rear end of car start to twitch and any error codes will flash on the dash.

Awesome piece of kit! My mate has a Vindicator kit car and his insurance is around the same as yours. He tells me he can put any engine in it, at an bhp and the insurance stays the same!
  10. WOW, what a great project! Top respect for taking it on and flying the soon to be Zed V8 flag.
  11. Yep happened to me, both sides. Lock tight solved it.
  12. Thanks guys for all the suggestions :)
  13. I don't think the problem is with the immigrants, they are just using the system like anyone else would, I know if I were an immigrant I would do the same. The real problem is with the government and it's policys toward imigrants.
  14. OK, so do I have to undo the bolt at the top of the alternator, or just the one behind the adjuster and the one to the far right, looking from above? There are 3 bolts and the adjuster if I remember right.
  15. Ok then i'll undo them, looks like it's going to take at least an hour to do this job as the easiest way is going to be taking the fan and shroud off to get to the bolts, or is it better to do it from under the car? cheerz
  16. Nice one, the first of many kills!
  17. I have a squeaky fan belt I think its a bit loose how do I adjust the alternator to tighten it up? Do I have to undo all 3 bolts then tighten the adjuster screw? Or can I just tighten the adjuster screw by itself? Cheerz
  18. Unless your a small person I don't think you will fit in your cam bet to run in it.
  19. Yes always use optimax if you increase boost! 13.5-14psi is a good safty area with 15 at the limit. I have been running mine at 15 for the past couple of years and no probs, infact when it was on the rolling road the A/F ratio was ok and engineer was happy red line the car (Thore).
  20. Yes the vid is scary, especially as my m8 has a rx7 and wants to do a top speed run with me in it! No thanks!
  21. I think all those horror stories are from people that have badly maintained zeds and done stuped things like run too much boost for their setup. If you don't go silly with the boost (15psi max on stock injectors and tubs) and make sure you have a decent chip along with filter and exhaust, decent oil, changed regularly, then you won't have the sort of problems you have read. Of course, if the previous owners have abused the car by not doing the basic mainence then you may be in for trouble. Doing a major cam belt service is a good start, but also get compression tests and make sure your car is in good health before you start to mod.
  22. Wow looks like you had a great time! Good pics aswell. I'm with Heritage and they told me track cover is included in my policy but only if the event is organized by the club.
  23. Sorry but I can't see any evidance that it was a 1.3 starlet turbo? The only car I could see was a 300zx. The other car could be a Mclaren F1 for all I know.
  24. Thanks for that, an interesting read. Think I might buy some of this of his web site http://www.beatthespeedtrap.co.uk/photoblocker.html it all helps.
