Windows Vista Help!!!
Immediately after the laptop turns on, mash the F8 button repeatedly, you should get a windows boot options menu (you may have to press a 'F-LOCK' key on your laptop keyboard to enable the F1-F12 keys, whether function lock is enabled is typically indicated by a num lock/caps lock/scroll lock style LED light). If you can get into windows safe mode fine every time you try, its most likely a hardware driver problem (the difference between the two environments is that safe mode doesn't load majority of hardware drivers). Getting into safe mode every time would also rule out any fundamental problems with disk drive I/O (bearing in mind that an optimised I/O driver for your specific laptop's disk controller might not be loaded in safe mode). From "Safe Mode with Networking" you should be able to download the most recent drivers from the laptop manufacturer's website and install them. What's the laptop make/model? Could probably find you a link.

Bluetooth A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile)
Anybody had any experience with the Bluetooth enabled A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) phone and head unit for in-car entertainment? I've got a HTC Touch Diamond at the moment which I believe is A2DP capable, so just wondering if any one is familiar with how it performs / how it operates. Like, do you first transfer the music from phone to head unit? Or can it stream? Can you control the phone's playlist via the head unit? Or does this also require support for AVRCP (Audio/Video Remote Control Profile)? Would also like a head unit with USB Type A female input or a Mini-USB Type B male output so I could charge me phone at the same time, if thats even possible?! :confused1: Something like this Panasonic CQ-RX300N - AAC WMA MP3 CD Player/Receiver with USB Port ... just don't know what to expect :)

Performing Rights Society....
Please do :) I mean I'm all for a bit of capitalist endeavour, but when you start casting people as criminals for their use of culture its a different matter.

Performing Rights Society....
Oh and Admin @ £68.5m a year?! Yeah, right :whistling:

Performing Rights Society....
Yep PRS should be consigned to the dustbin where it belongs. If you look at its board members, quite a few cronies from the music industry who have chaired or managed publishing and distribution companies. Estelle Morris is even an external board member! She was a total non-job ex-government minister if ever there was one ... Hardly surprising that this self-serving bunch have managed to elevate themselves to the position of monopoly rent-seeking by license fee privilege, much like the BBC does. All "not for profit" of course. When the company is quoted in the FT as saying You get that kind of itching sensation to get to heart of the matter concerning their privileged 'collections' ... so I just had a look at their 2008 financial results, and I quote: So unless my calculations are incorrect, it gets broken down as following: £549m total revenue 2008 (£608.2m less admin £68.5m) 60000 Legislatively (Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988) reinforced rent-seekers in total 34200 57% 19800 90% (above 57%) 3000 95% (above 90%) 3000 5% fat cat remainder > £20k each @ min £373m So that is a minimum £373 million shared between 3000 'entities', averaged at £124.3k each, but if the upper bracket statistics threshold is £20k, you know someone is sitting pretty. Doubtless this money is then spent on lobbying to beat us with the prohibition stick? Because it doesn't appear to be going to the artists ... Is it me or does it just seem rather draconian to prohibit someone creating acoustic vibrations in the air?

Tv Programs
Dexter is a pretty good thriller, is bit of edge of seat sometimes 'Firefly' if you like your space cowboy style affairs (it stopped after 1 series though, a feature length film called 'Serenity' followed it though with all same characters) If your a bit nerdy like me then Big Bang Theory is pretty funny Tudors is a bit of fun Like anime? Cowboy Bebop might get you interested, theres a film of the same too. True Blood definitely Skins ... because it reminds me of home :)

BNP Voted to accept non whites into party
Paraphrasing Bush: "Yeah I'd vote for a 300zx dictatorship, just so long as I'm the dictator!" :D Pretty sure the number of underprivileged proles not driving 300zxs vastly outnumber our small but powerful special interest group! :( Still though, theres another to consider in your list TonyC: Libertarian Party UK (LPUK), the fundamental principles of which are Liberty. Anyone familiar with the US Republican Texas congressman and '08 presidential contender Ron Paul might be pleased with some of the policies this party is proposing: an end to income tax and stealth taxes, devolving tax power to local government, breaking state monopolies on health and "educashun", an end to corporate welfare and market distorting subsidies, an end to prohibitions, prohibitions on working, prohibitions on firearms, prohibitions on drugs etc, exiting the supra-national EU by repealing the European Communities Act, and so on. More over they're not isolationist, they want to set the British economy free from the crushing burden of the state to compete with countries who have gained the upper hand in competitiveness. They've got my vote, but there only a small party :( Liberty ain't that popular in this country as it should be.

Testing O2 sensors of the car.
Aye I can appreciate that, but why does it say "LEFT SIDE (Right side)" and "RIGHT SIDE (Left side)"? Both pieces of advice are literally absolutely ambiguous, unless I'm missing something mechanic-specific terminology to disambiguate it e.g. 'capital R in Right = near-side'?

BNP Voted to accept non whites into party
Not sure why the BNP is described as far-right, they're actually far-left. The left-right spectrum has two conflicting components: social and economic, the more influential component being economic. Because you could perceivably have all the social freedom in the world, but if you don't have economic freedom, social freedom does not exist (for money shapes the available choices in society). Therefore left is economic fascism and the right is economic freedom. This is probably the only sense you can derive from this dichotomy, otherwise its useless. Therefore the BNP are far-left because they do not believe in economic freedom: as a nationalist party they believe in a big state, the default status-quo position that a big state knows how to spend your money better than you do. If you read their economic policy, they are heavily protectionist, with the desire to further centralise spending authority. Thus they are cut from exactly the same cloth as LibLabCon: authoritarianism; with a different blend of fringe social issues. The major issue they champion, immigration, is a big problem when you have a welfare free-for-all backed by a national-insurance-ponzi scheme; exactly what we have. The BNPs solution is to isolate, not liberate; a popular theme for governments who believe they know better than you do. Does my nut, honestly ... :)

Testing O2 sensors of the car.
Pages 48,49 and 53 discusses the mode 2 diagnostics procedure ... with such gems as "HOW TO CHANGE MONITOR FROM LEFT SIDE (Right side) TO RIGHT SIDE (Left side)"- what is that supposed to mean? http://www.300zx.co.uk/cgi-bin/manual.cgi?list=efec&dir=&config=&refresh=&slide=48&cycle=off&scale=0&design=default&total=190 HOW TO CHANGE MONITOR FROM LEFT SIDE (Right side) TO RIGHT SIDE (Left side) Doing this meself today

Cat 1 Alarm.
** If I recall correctly he was willing to do a meet half way kind of affair- if adding the cost of petrol still beats other prices.

Cat 1 Alarm.
I just had a cat1 Viper 480xv fitted to mine, by a chap called Phil from National Vehicle Security - total cost £220 and a shiny VSIB/MESF approved certificate with genuine stamp, the lot. Insurance company certainly liked it. Don't think he services Norwich though, he did Leicester for an additional £20. Totally decent job too, so there is some money to be saved if you shop around (I shopped around quite a bit).

Man Made Climate Change - A Proven Fraud!
The climategate scandal is a most welcome, it shall put science back on a firmer footing once all this unpleasantness has been routed out ... ... although the real breaking story at the moment is the IPCC Chairman Dr Rajendra Pachauri and his many, many, many associations with industries dependent upon the policy decisions of the IPCC. This guys got more connections than Goldman Sachs and the taxpayer is subsidising a huge raft of his ventures. He's a multi-millionaire making a killing off the back of 'protecting the worlds poor and vulnerable from the dangers of climate change'. His conflict of interests are becoming untenable as this story continues to unfold, hopefully it shall crack the IPCC false consensus wide open and end this nonsense once and for all. But then there are extremely powerful vested interests in the topic of climate change, this story has been a really exciting one to follow over the past couple of months. Pachauri: Conflict of Interest @ EU Referendum (would definitely recommend adding EUReferendum to your blogrolls! Always a riveting read on the international/European level, the author Richard North is the one hot on the tails of Pachauri and is bringing the breaking news way ahead of the dead tree press) Heres a picture of him adjacent to the high priest himself, take a good look and remember his face, for soon he shall fall from grace:

Silver entering Street, Somerset @ 1650 04/01?
Most zeds I've seen recently appear to be around Glastonbury / Street! Seen this one by the Baptist Church close to rush hour, would of flashed but thought it was a Supra as it was pretty dark out, but the taillights gave it away in the mirror, think it had a pedastal type spoiler. Anybody on here?

Dary Gray/Black K Reg A361 in Glastonbury over Xmas
Was parked near main road by Morrisons, had a high spoiler, have a feeling seen it around before I got my zed ...

Screen gone massive
if your using firefox, the default shortcut to restore normal text size is ctrl + '0', think the same works for IE.

Another Gearbox Noise Thread
Should note that the behaviour in mine is regardless of gear (happens in neutral even)
-
Another Gearbox Noise Thread
There is something similar on my zed ... it chatters soon after its just started at cold, a quiet crunchy/grinding noise ... disappears under the slightest application of the throttle (even if the application of throttle produces less RPM than the IACV is allowing as choke) ... completely disappears when its warmed up, other then the precise moment after braking, the car ceases its forward inertia, a little crunch noise is audible. Baffling! Sounds pricey though hehe. It shall have to remain a mystery until I have some free time to take it to Tamworth :)

Outrageous!!!
A handy graphic for yesterdays budget report too courtasy of order-order.com: It's quite obvious for all to see now, the government is out of control. Shame the next government is going to be just as ******g ****. The only party I'd vote for is the one which abolishes income tax, the NI ponzi scheme, restores my rights and trampled liberties, takes the rule of law seriously and enforces proper property rights and puts the state on a SERIOUS diet. Anything else is just more of the same.

The interweb just can't keep up...
I had virgin media broadband this time last year, was pretty appalling imo (although it wasn't a 50meg package) ... the routing to europe was crap, laden with latency, packet loss & the like, which when gaming is a bit unfortunate :( It was alright tho for much of everything else, quite expensive tho as it got bundled with a telly package n stuff, but who watches that these days when we have the internet? :)

Replacement speakers
oh I want to do the same for mine ... thx for the info :) Also I would like to put a small discreet switch on for the auto antenna, as I don't really listen to the radio. Any advice on where would be the best place to access that, ala bottom right of http://www.300zx-twinturbo.com/cgi-bin/manual.cgi?list=diag&dir=&config=&refresh=&slide=2&cycle=off&scale=0&design=default&total=4 ?
