Stumpy oil filter A5208-01b02, appropriate for use on VG30DETT?
I took it back (thankfully catching last service on the parts desk), chap picked wrong one out of the bin. I now have a A5208-H890C which lists Z32 VG30DTT as a compatible engine on box so ... Close enough? :) Thanks for feed back guys, it made me ran out of house to make the last service!!

Stumpy oil filter A5208-01b02, appropriate for use on VG30DETT?
Just went down local Nissan parts department (not the one I normally go to) and asked for a new oil filter and sump washer ... They gave me this stumpy looking thing, shorter than the ones I fit in the past. I questioned if it was genuinely compatible for a VG30DETT and the counter clerk said it was ... I'm a little suspicious though. Can anyone confirm it is suitable? Don't want to fit it and put new oil in only to find out it's going to give me pressure problems ... Box only lists compatible engines of under 1.6L and years 86-88. Cheers ~Tom

T-top weatherstrip clips, substitutes / replacements?
Anybody any idea what to do about replacing these clips? They go in the t-top weather strips. There are 5 of them per strip ... going to try some small little hex nuts in the ends - maybe with a bit of glue ... in the actual stripping though only the original thing is going to work properly I guess ... apart possibly a square nut. Anyone any advice?

3D printing clips and fixings
It was these white clips I was referring to, so I guess they are retainer clips. There is 5 of them per t-top weatherstrip. How does one get a part number / cost for something and insignificant as this?

3D printing clips and fixings
Little cube like ones which go in the t-top moulding strip, very difficult to get to because you have to dismantle the entire panel.

3D printing clips and fixings
Interesting ... so a simple clip wouldn't necessarily be an easy win? The original clips are likely mass produced in the first place so have a relatively low unit cost ... to the manufacturer. I can't imagine how much these clips would cost as an end consumer if I were to buy replacements. If I can find a part number we shall have to find out! They're only a centimetre big in each dimension.

3D printing clips and fixings
I was reassembling my targa panels, now I have a set of exterior body panels the same colour, and was attempting to reaffix the weather strips after wrapping them in vinyl. The problem is the little white clips that sit in the weatherstrip channels are basically past their best and it's not going to enable a proper weather tight seal. So I'm thinking ... why not 3d print some new ones? Or even better, print new ones of a better design ... http://makezine.com/2013/07/17/3d-printed-parts-to-the-rescue-please-share-your-stories/ Surely this kind of thing will be the way forward ... anyone got access to any 3d printing kit? :)

Which wire on the audio stereo wire harness is for the power antenna? (w/pics)
Cool ok thanks. I'll trace it with a multimeter, I'm having to take boot apart to sort out rear speakers it would seem (they not working, and never have done) so I'll see if I can trace it with the multimeter too, I suppose I had best make sure! :) - - - Updated - - - Where would Nissan say btw? No wire colourings on the circuit diagram, and the wiring diagram section of the online manual is incomplete with only 3 pages :(

Which wire on the audio stereo wire harness is for the power antenna? (w/pics)
Plus I have also read that some headunits only pop the aerial up when the radio tuner source is selected. Haven't looked if that's an option on the new head unit I'm installing yet ...

Which wire on the audio stereo wire harness is for the power antenna? (w/pics)
Actually I was thinking about putting a switch in. But then they are also some comments saying that there is another, alternative aerial (available via the second pin on the antenna plug). Does that give as good reception as the sticky outie one? I don't mind it popping out if it means I get a good radio reception :) If the alternative aerial does give as good reception, then yes I may just unplug the other powered aerial! Just updating all my ICE at the moment, giving a Parrot ASTEROID a try, which is an Android powered head unit with USB, Bluetooth & memory card support. Upon pulling out my existing headunit, the antenna was never connected using a proper adapter! no wonder I could never get a decent signal! Hehe.

Which wire on the audio stereo wire harness is for the power antenna? (w/pics)
Hi all I've read that several people have either fitted switches to or have simply cut the wire for the powered external radio antenna. Can anybody help me identify which wire that may be, from the two images below? 92 TT UK 300zx. Many thanks! Tom

Pressing the rear subframe bushes (with pictures)
Did yours end up looking as mangled as mine Silverline :confused1: whatever works I guess! Damn is it the 30th already tomorrow, hadn't realised. I suppose the one good thing about time flying by so fast is that pay cheques get closer together. I'm on a tight schedule to get this sub-frame back on before April, am bit behind what with winter extending its icy grip and all. I shall have to give it a miss in favour of working on my zed on this particular occasion. Soon tho ...

Pressing the rear subframe bushes (with pictures)
Ahh well the rubber gave way way before the bushing casing was ever going to come out. So ended up having to beat them out anyway. Good enough finish I guess. 3 hrs for the first one, hopefully only 30 minutes per remaining ones now :)

Pressing the rear subframe bushes (with pictures)
Can anyone confirm that this looks like the appropriate approach per the instructions for these energy suspension rear subframe bushes? Looks as if the rubber is going to give way before the bushing even thinks about moving ... Instructions say: Push from bottom towards top ... push on inner sleeve ... do not press out collar which had rubber ring bonded to it ... so this looks like correct approach? Press: Instructions: Thanks

Fouled spark plug and coil pack with a misfire
Oh as follow up to this thread, in case anybody suffers any similar problems ... I swapped the coil packs around, cleaned the connectors, checked the spark plugs, think it was just a dodgy connection. Put it all back together and she was sweet as a nut again. :)

Fouled spark plug and coil pack with a misfire
Well it was misfiring on the passenger side of the engine, I'll inspect the spark plug later if my plug tool is long enough to get at it. Only started last weekend before last on a gentle trip back from Gloucester. I'm prepared for the worse though so not to worry that much.

Fouled spark plug and coil pack with a misfire
Yeah all good, not been up to much, all that rain in the summer delayed the progress for sorting the body work out for my zed. Have hardly driven it much actually, only tend to drive it in the summer and ... what summer?? heh! Looks like it's going to need something more than a lick of paint now though! Anyone in/around Bristol with the kit to do a compression test that could help me out? Cheers

Fouled spark plug and coil pack with a misfire
Hey gang ... Had a problem with misfiring recently, was going to check condition of plugs but when was taking them out I stumbled across this ... doesn't look too good! Thought someone here could probably give me a ballpark diagnosis. Haven't taken spark plug out yet thought I'd call it a night before hunting through my tools to find a deep enough extension to get at it. Cheers!

Red K reg(?) import(?) w/ black alloys, lip spoiler - Bristol (Galleries Car Park)
A very tidy red zed, which I think was an import on a K plate, coming down the ramp onto level E in the Galleries car park in Bristol Broadmead, heading to the exit. Was a male driver with female passenger, had black multispoke alloys and crystal rear light clusters and a lip spoiler. Looked very smart! I exclaimed to the girl who I was with at the time that I owned one of them, she said that it looked damn sexy. Which, of course, I wholeheartedly agreed with :)

me zed failed it's mot ... just needs a couple of brake pipes from front to back and a couple spots of welding near the rear sills .... doing the welding meself (purely for economical reasons) so it ain't gonna be ready for retest until Monday at the earliest now ... pooop :( I'll still potter along in my kia tho :)

ok .... Sunday 9th October 2011 .... I've put this one in me phone correctly this time ... I'll come fo sure, unless I've previously obligated myself to do something else but I don't think I have ... and this shall take priority above other stuff. Shall look forward to it ... fingers crossed i shall have my zed back on the road by then too :)
