  1. ooo sounds nice I might insure the zed for the day, it presently off road but still has tax until end of july ... And FAO Jimmer: I hear you might be the man to talk to regarding getting cambelt swapped, basically my zed is off road from end of July so I can totally do her up nicely ready for summer 2012. I gots me alot of cash set a side, but vital things first- any chance you would consider the job before end of July? Cheers blud :}
  2. I was speaking to a chap on the Nissan stands at Bristol motorshow last weekend, he mentioned something about an open track day at Castle Coombs - free to Nissan owners, where one might also have the opportunity to test drive a GTR, over what I swear he said was the end of May bank holiday weekend ... sadly though I can't find anythign about it on the internet or the Castle Coombs website detailing such an event. I should have taken more details dammit. Anybody know anything about this?
  3. bugger can't believe I've missed this, I've had me head down working so hard, barely even checked me e-mails. Although saying that, wonder if it's possible to e-mail subscribe to forum sections on vBulletin ... must give it a go
  4. How much is either option likely to set you back if you don't mind my asking? I'm looking to get mine done a pearlescent/metallic white before summer, after I do all the prep on the little dings / smooth down the stonechip / get a 99spec front bumper / possibly a rear jdm bumper etc :}
  5. although considering the evidence the likelihood of it being genuine is not too favourable?
  6. Plate was definitely reading an N :) Didn't realise this was such a rare spot ... someone must fess up to owning such a rarity :)
  7. Saw this little beauty by Victoria Park in Bristol, was like looking into a mirror aside from the boot spoiler, and mine is always brown from the muddy country lanes! Very nice :)

  10. looks like good fun but not sure I can afford the petrol, I'll probably come and just be a little poorer, if anything else pops up though then may have to drop it ... my first payday is 25th so shouldn't be too bad Which way & what time were you going to go murt? Si already in on the convoy yea?
  11. What are the details? I had a quick peak in SC forum and couldn't see any topics in there ... So when/where :)? A350 is over 60 miles long :confused:
  12. hey, sorry to resurrect this thread but this problem has resurfaced as described above (I own what was borderzed's zed :}), I believe you took care of this when it came into see you Jeff last november, so I'll follow your advice and it will probably sort it out ...... but just curious, why does a dodgy connection at the TPS end result in a loud clicking noise from behind the instrument panel? :) thanks
  13. I won't be back in UK until mid-December don't think, but I would come if I were.
  14. The tech level here is incredible, they have electrogizmos in everything, the toilets talk, the lights go on and off automatically, kettle is on a continual boil and has about 6 buttons just to make a cuppa, the TV reception is like super find HD, the ATM machines have a million buttons, all their cars appear to have dvd and tv, and some of the people are so nice, i'm thinking that some of them may be ... and wow, the bullet trains are scarily quick. But GBP exchanging at 124 to the pound at the moment, peak of credit crisis 2007 it was 249 to the pound. This place is seriously rinsing me!! Worth it tho!
  15. and some more & other pics
  16. Having been all over Japan last three weeks ... I can report that I have seen: 1 x z31 2 x z32 x,000 x 350z x,000 x 370z Thought I would have seen more of the z32, they must all be exported by now :} I did find a zedcar book as well, although it was all in Japanese. The roads here are awesome, would totally love to take a zed round some of the mountain roads !!! Here are some (z-related) pics!
  17. Don't spose anybody could recommend any good companies in southwest / central somerset that can do refurbs? My wheels need a complete strip down.
  18. cheers lads i'll have to get a proper compressor job then, good news on the stud as well thought that was gonna be a PITA!
  19. Rabid is my online gaming moniker that I use when playing Quakeworld .... Tommy is just to disambiguate my name from others who would use my online moniker.
  20. Hi guys ... just a check over me zed this avro to see what needs doing for MOT, basically its gonna be: 1x Head light bulb 1x Rear fog bulb 2x pair of rear pads 2x rear shocks 1x rear wheel lug 3x new wiper blades all round 2x new front tyres (groan) I suppose the tyres are ok for time being as I'll just put me stock wheels on whilst I source some new tyres for my alloys & get them refurbed, but I've had this tracked twice and it still pulls slightly to the left which is probably where the excessive wear on the inner side front passenger tyre has come from, suspect it's been toeing out, so gonna have to get the geometry looked at properly, tyres are gonna eat into my ICE upgrade budget :( I got some questions regarding rear shocks and rear wheel lug tho: As you can see by attached picture, bloody wheel bolt sheared off, looks as if it was cross threaded - probably overtightened when I had rear tyres changed by a tyre place in Leicester. Whats involved in replacing that? Am I going to have to beat the wheel bearing apart? :( Can't find relevant section in manual ... But with the rear shocks ... am I: A) Going to need a spring compressor to make the job easier (or has anyone got any top tip DIY substitutes?) B) Adjustable shocks? Whats that all about? e.g. Shock absorber actuator? What is that actuating? Is that part of HICAS? Does that make replacement shocks more expensive? :( C) Will new shocks come with new dust covers? Because mine are ... well ... non existant :) D) What are the risks of injury playing with the rear spring & shock ... any precautionary tips? Thanks all!
  21. cool cool, I'll have to put together a parts list and see how much they'd want for them. Also was gonna take the calipers off and give them a scrub and a paint, and figured whilst I got them off and the car off the road may as well uprate the brake hoses to some of these braided ones, but I saw the thread the other day about the wear around the unions (can't find the thread now), who supplies the decent quality ones? Also ... what colour for the calipers, bearing in mind the car is white ... was thinking about dark silver/Gunmetal?
  22. So I need to buy some servicable goods for my zed, namely some rear pads, some brake hoses, some wiper blades & what not, anybody got any preferred quality parts providers that they could recommend?
  23. It was gurt fun! Shame had to duck off early but dinner was due and still had to go over to Wells to see me mum. Looking forward to next time ... hopefully will have sorted alot out on my zed by then :thumbup1:
